What a great show! Mono was so lovable and funny, but I really liked Don Collier, such a handsome man. I am glad they were down to earth with their fans. I think it relaxes people and the actor is seen as a human being.
I love the show. I love these guys. It's a DAMN shame it only lasted 4 seasons. Believe it or not. I'm 57, and i just started looking at shows like this 3 yrs ago. And i still see them now👍
My favorite cast member, Linda Crystal. I heard from a friend who was a security guard at one of her personal appearances said."She's was as beautiful as you could think, and treated her fans just like you'd hope she would be. This was my favorite western TV Show
The greatest western series of all time I'm watching it now with my young son he loves it too, all the characters were awesome monolito, victoria, big john, blue, sam, Pedro! Watch it and you just wish they could all stay that age and continue making shows.
It's rare that I actually watch a series over again but the High Chaparral is one of the few that I can watchnover again and it's juts as good as the first time or even better 👍
Virginian fans come from al over the world for cast reunions, too, I've come from Ireland for three of these, two at the Memphis Film Festival. At one I had the pleasure of meeting Henry Darrow.
Love them all. High Chaparral was my favorite show. My 2016 honeymoon was in AZ and one of the first places we went was Old Tucson.....a place I visited as a kid in the 70s. I had forgotten the fire in the 90s...but I still got to see the ranchhouse and that sign.
I got to meet Don Collier in late 2017 in S. Texas and what a great guy. Recognized him right off from the show. We all had a great time and that was my brush with greatness. Thanks Don with taking the time out of your busy life to visit with a fan.
Loved these guys! I wrote a fan letter to Rudy Ramos, but never got a reply, LOL! I watched it last year back when Locast was in business, and really took to the character of Sam. I've always enjoyed Manolito and Victoria's quarreling in Spanish. Now I can enjoy the show on DVD as if there was never an interruption. Thanks for this!
It's because there are no more shows like that, where they had great messages, and love was portrayed across cultures, as it should be even with struggles. Characters themselves are so individual, perfectly. Without a father growing up in the home some of these shows affected me more than I realized, and a positive way. Even though it was only a show they were still messages on how to be a man.
They don't make tv shows like that anymore. I watch reruns every chance I get. It's on tv here in Spokane in the morning and I try to watch it every day. Thank you all for many, many hours of enjoyment.
I remember watching this series as a kid - and I didn’t even know a word of English back then! Henry Darrow really stood out for his presence even though I hadn’t a clue what he was saying!
So glad we still hve these reruns of High Chaparral to watch. They don't make shows like this anymore. Most all of the stars are gone now. Mark Slade (Blue) and Rudy Ramos (Wind) are the only ones I know of still living.
Just one of my favorite shows I watch in the morning Ya all do an awesome job Amen May God always bless you all Amen Thanks so much for sharing Amen God bless ya all
I have always loved the High Chaparral, not only all its fantastic and appealing characters but especially the frequent bursts of hilarious humour, the exciting plots, all the action and the saloon fights, the general lightheartedness of the programme, the many kindnesses shown to others by people from all three main ethnic groups portrayed (Mexicans, First Peoples and European Americans) - particularly by Victoria the peacemaker! I would so love to attend one of these reunions in Tucson, or is it Old Tucson? And meet all my heroes, of course. But it might be a bit difficult, as I'm European and live in Europe! Henry Darrow, Rudy Ramos, Don Collier ... three lovely gentlemen, it was a pleasure and a privilege to listen to them in this video. If you are able to do so, I would be most grateful if you could tell them how much I've always liked, admired and respected them and how much I loved the TV series. As Don says, it was an absolute cult here in Europe in the late 1960s!
I truly did not expect to like this show as a young girl, but...I fell in love with just about every character in it. To this day, I wish I could have met and spoke with Don Collier, a.k.a. Sam Butler, my favorite cowboy on High Chapparal.
Por lo menos debe haber sido subtitulado, en Latinoamérica está serie fue muy famosa, querido de todos los tiempos junto con bonanza extraordinaria serie del oeste siempre lo recordaremos.
I first saw this as a teenage girl. I was struck by the emphasis on working together with the hispanic culture and the indigenous Apaches. It changed my world perspective. Today, watching the CDs, I'm, appalled by the sexism and the dismissiveness of some egregious prejudices that still prevail on this series. But still, it was a step forward into advocating decency and trust. Overall, I love this series. With some reservations.
They did where they could. This show was fabulous & beloved by all cultures when it was on. We lived in S Az in the 70’s & Old Tucson was so so special!
A LOT of times they DID NOT!! On a lot of different shows!! The RACISM was BAD! MANY, MANY TV shows named The Spanish male "PEPE"!!!! The RACISM makes me vomit!!!!! DAMN THE HOLLYWOOD BIG SHOTS, FOREVER!!!!!
Loved the High Chaparral, they don't make programme's like this anymore...love love love!

I used to watch HIGH CHAPPARAL as a boy growing up in Cape Town, SA in 1979.
Buck Cannon was my hero.
Love Tucson history, this show gave me my old Tucson fix while it was closed for 2 years, glad it's open again.

I still watch every single morning. I can't stand the morning shows today. I'd rather go back to the past when men were real men. And HOT

Good question! She avoids the reunions. The same goes for Mark Slade, who left under a cloud and was replaced by Rudy Ramos.
Where is Buck and Manolito?

Have to ask.Does anyone if any of these great men starred with the Duke?
Don Collier was in the movie The Undefeated with Duke & Jan Michael Vincent if I remember right.

Why not get Indians to play Indian parts
But most of the Indian parts *were* played by Indians ... Rudy Ramos is Indian, or at least part Indian.
They did where they could. This show was fabulous & beloved by all cultures when it was on. We lived in S Az in the 70’s & Old Tucson was so so special!
