    Scott, that large wall capping looked like you put it with the bark side down. If your pt pine is anything like ours in Philadelphia when the sun hits it the ends will cup up and the board will hold water. We try to install our pt with the bark side up. Hopefully you have a more stable pt than we do. Nice project!

Works great th-cam.com/users/postUgkxjpBI8OOeUXib_iT7UomCrQ-uauwZJ62c . Cuts easily and is perfect for pocket cuts I needed to make for replacing some old deck boards.

    • @Patrick-857
      @Patrick-857 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It would seem that way. That Dewalt is putting out 2400W. You will never find a corded tool doing that because the maximum current on a standard 230v outlet is 10A. Watts = volts x amps so that's 2300W. However manufacturers have to leave a margin, so 2000W the maximum you will find on a corded tool. It will make the lights dim on startup, and will struggle on long leads.
      And the old farts still think battery tools are gutless.
      The rear handle isn't for me, too nose heavy and on a blade of that size I don't feel the need for that kind of power. The other Flexvolt saw is 1600W and I have never had it bog down. Its so quite you don't need earmuffs, which makes everyone think it's gutless, but it cuts everything like butter.

    Hi Scott I love your videos they are very interesting and informative. Was looking for some advice I want to get a saw that I can cut sheets down on but don't know weather to get a track saw or table saw. Was also wondering if a track saw is able to do small rips on wood like a table saw would.

    I am seriously considering buying a 16 5/16" skilsaw sasquatch. I don't need it but I really want it!

    Thanks for the video! Was that a special countersink bit for the washerhead spax screws?

      Looking at it I'd say it's a deck fast bit... they sell them at places for different gauge screws , their realy good no mark and adjustable 👍

      If you manage to get hold of one, try one similar to these in the link. Scott’s one in the vid is fine for occasional holes, but when pre-drilling & countersinking 100’s of holes (decking etc, like I do every day ☹️ ) Scott’s type will tend to get blocked and jammed with timber, especially hardwood decking etc.
      The open design type like the Macsim are far superior.

    In the voice of Crocodile Dundee "That's not a giant skilsaw".. :) There's the Big Mak' 16" and the 2-man Mafell 24" monster.. Anyway, something I've never understood is why Makita sells different size and spec saws in different places - in Canada you can get a 10.25" and the 16" the latter with a pressed steel base plate, in the UK it's the 10.25 and a 14" both with a cast baseplate, and you guys down under get a 9.25 with a pressed steel plate.. ??..
