      ***** I was wondering if you have had any experience with the O2/Odac or the Yulong U100? Also, could your give your opinion on these Dac/Amps, if you have?
      Thanks. Great video by the way...just a little out of my price range haha :)

    Looks pretty good, I want to arrange a listen to one. Luckily I have a dealer nearby who stocks PS Audio products. What I would like to know is whether the Sprout supports Bluetooth AptX, or the vastly inferior standard Bluetooth. This would be a deal breaker for me.
    I'm also looking at the Quad Vena, another compact unit that does support AptX but no phono stage.

    I see nobody has noted that this amp has a deliberate bass boost @70 Hz designed to make small speakers sound "bigger" and more "solid." Perhaps more problematic is the fact that the same bass boost is present in the line level output one would use to connect to a powered subwoofer -- a definite no-no IMO. PS's upcoming, pricier "Sprout 2" product corrects the latter issue.

      kwapedog after 24 hrs. burn-in it's really sounding nice. I'm using Sony XBA-Z5 in-ears right now as I type this. Sounds great!

    This is a REAL 50 watts.
    Your typical Big Box store purchased home theater receiver would be hard pressed to muster up 27 real watts.

    Hi Michael, hope all is well. Did you ever make an in-depth review of this one? I own a couple of PS Audio products and I might be tempted :)

    That Sprout maybe ok for some folks, but the is no HDMI or Optical in or out, I was looking at one for a sound bar. No way

  • @robertkirk4387

    This thing is only 110 volts right , so the rest of us in the world using 220/240 volts need an adapter, is that true , pushing the price even higher (£475 in the UK) and a lot of the reviewers put it below par with the likes of cheaper (if only slightly) NAD and Rotel products, which both have better headphone amps, I am tempted but that little bell in my head says Avoid

    Thanks for putting out the first overlook video (in English lol) of the Sprout! Quick question, you pointed out that it had an analog in and out on the rear panel. What exactly is the function of the output? Can this act as a pass-through of sorts, carrying the signal to say another dedicated headphone amp? I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, I'm still familiarizing myself with audio equipment lol. Thanks again for the video :)

    • @HiFiInsider
      @HiFiInsider  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      SunnyStateSloth perhaps to use Sprout as a DAC or a preamp.

    • @SunnyStateSloth
      @SunnyStateSloth 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      So if I wanted to run the signal from my computer into the Sprout, do you think I could then send the output signal into my ALO Pan Am or no? Thanks for the response btw.

    • @HiFiInsider
      @HiFiInsider  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      SunnyStateSloth Sprout's headphone amp is great. No need to connect to ALO Pan AM.

      Valery Willis There's a lot that went into the Sprout. I think if someone wants to take the listening enjoyment to the next level they can upgrade power cord and USB cable. I'm using Nordost with amazing results.

    you genuinely think that all these big names watch your videos? your past 3 uploads, you have said something along the lines of "I hope ... are watching this", the chances of a company (or someone big) watching is ridiculously slim, you only have 30k subscribers. it's great if your saying it jokefully, but you have a certain sincerity in your voice that makes me think you whole-heartedly believe it.

    "Made in China" this thing is worth $150 tops

    • @SlowlyLosinIt
      @SlowlyLosinIt 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Volt Lover just because something is made in china, doesn't mean its always going to be cheap, or supposed to be cheap. Most of everything out of China, I am sure, is made very cheaply. But there are also a lot of high end made devices that come from China, that are extremely well made and are worth a lot of money. Your android or apple devices, are made in China, Taiwan, or even Korea.

    • @derbigpr500
      @derbigpr500 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yea, fuck the cost of research and development, testing, setting up the entire manufacturing process, actually manufacturing it, paying for the workers, etc. Fuck the components which are inside and which are very high quality and cost quite a bit to buy. In fact, you don't even know what's inside it, all you saw was the "Made in China" sticker. That tells me all about your IQ. I love when stupid people like yourself who have an intellectual capacity so low they couldn't possibly comprehend what goes into making a product like this even if their life depended on it talk about how much something is worth...you couldn't tell how much something is worth even if the cost sheet smacked you across the face.

    all this hype for 50 watts per channel.. i got a tiny Sure class d about half that size with 100 per channel for 60 bucks... nice try man..way over priced car audio technology...

    • @ericfshook
      @ericfshook 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah, watts is the end all be all measure of quality. LOL

    • @bdc211
      @bdc211 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Eric Franklin Shook no one said it was... however it plays a nice role.... it goes both ways.. you can have beautiful quality, but if it doesnt fill the room with the psysical aspect of music, you are being robbed of the full musical experience... your going to be hard pressed to pull that off with 50 wpc.... i dnt give a shit how clean the signal is.......

    • @ericfshook
      @ericfshook 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bahahahahahaha!!!
      You know NOTHING about what 1 watt equals to in mechanical musical force.
      NOT ONE BIT. LOL
      You just outed yourself. 5 Watts can scream.

    did he just say a high quality power cord makes a big difference in audio quality? hahahaha this guy should be taken out of the gen pool if he believes that. what is a meter of cable going to do between the amp and the wall when the power has to travel for kilometers before getting to his house using "low grade" cable or w/e you want to call it?

    • @HiFiInsider
      @HiFiInsider  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Perhaps you should try before you knock. But only if your gear are good enough to hear the difference.

    • @F41LZZz
      @F41LZZz 10 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      ***** are you trying to say im "poor"? the reason i believe that it doesn't work is because the countless study's and people that have proven it wrong. and well power is power, how can someone do a copper cable better than another person?, if this is the case y don't you move around america and find where has the cleanest most consistent power, same idea? if it makes such a audio difference so much so that your willing to pay +$200, what i might add is more than what almost everyone spends on audio products combined, a lot of people still think apple ear buds are the bees knees.
      simply put your hearing the placebo effect, human ears are just not that good, and our brains consistently change our perception of sound. you sir have wasted your money for years on cables that are useless, and change nothing... think of how good that money would have been if you donated it, and how many lives that could have influenced or put it away, and invested it. because i've seen your other videos, you've spent countless amounts of money on this "snake oil" product, and your telling people to do the same what in my opinion is worse
      if you truely believe this stuff is real and makes a real difference. make a video about it, where you do blind testing, and get other people to try. i would find that very interesting and entertaining, for power cables and auido cables (speaker cables etc.) and you may even open the eyes of people like me.

      Jake hi jake i've tested many mains power cables + they DO make a difference believe me i've AB demo'd them + they do make a big improvement to the sound quality try+ u'll find out for yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!
