  • Serenade was written by Sigmund Romberg for the operetta 'The Student Prince.' It first opened on December 2, 1924 at Jolson's 59th Street Theater. Mario Lanza performed the song in the MGM movie in 1954. Here it is performed on the Hammond A100 organ.

Lost my 87yo organ teacher Bill Mitchell Monday, April 8th 2024, just as the eclipse was starting. This was his favorite song. He favorited the Hammond organ, and sold them out of his home in Worcester for over 50 years. Thank you.

    Hi Steve,
A lovely Song with beautiful rich harmonies as Sigmund Romberg intended. I recognise that sheet music. Superbly played. Thank you.

Great rendition. Your style is so smooth. What are you playing into? It seems more than just a Leslie speaker. Enjoy your works.

Well, I have a Leslie speaker but I don't use it much. What you're hearing is the pure Hammond sound with a bit of reverb effects added. Thanks so much for your compliments.
