- What is up, y'all?! Sooo, yes, I did a double Stray Kids reaction...🤯 I am seriously a STAY now and I can't seem to decide between Hyunjin and Felix and even Han being my bias, and the more I watch them, the more the other members be crawling up that bias wrecker lever.🤣 As I was editing this video, I was realizing more things that I didn't quite catch during my first watch. Interesting elements that most likely has a deeper meaning behind them, which makes me want to watch the videos over and over to catch those meanings. Side Effects is REALLY artistically and symbolically strong, after deciphering the lyrics a couple of times. It’s very relatable for those who have gone through a lot of tough times in their lives (I can totally vouch for that, damn lupus!🤬). Thanks to y'all Stays who recommended these to me. I reeeeeally like this group!👍🏼 (ALSO, I edited this video completely differently from all of my other reaction videos; I'm trying different ways on how to bring attention to parts of the videos that I really appreciate and/or want to highlight on without have to pause a million times because pausing too much makes me lose sense of my vibe.🤣 If this style of editing is too crazy, just let me know and I'll adjust!)

Side effects is their experiment song. When they released that song some people criticize it and called it a no1se when it's not because it's a genre with an important history behind it. From what I know the genre is called psychedelic trance (characterized by high bpm and loud bass noise), Knowing that sound is not common in kpop yet stray kids decided to break it and become one of the first groups to experiment with it in the industry. That's why I'm so glad and happy that you liked side effects because it is such a good song with the beautiful lyrics behind. Even the production of it is so unique. I hope u check their other discography in the future because stray kids music is the most versatile in kpop in my opinion. I love your reaction. (:

Interesting.. Where did you read that? As an avid psy trance, techno, progressive and house consumer etc + occasional dj (been going to raves for almost 13 years now, omg Im getting old) I honestly have a bit of a hard time pin pointing the genre they used. For example: it doesn't sound like psy trance, or any other sub genre of trance, it's too slow for one. It's not techno either and obv not house. I like the sound though! Even if it's too slow it reminds me of industrial techno, dark and dirty lmao

So happy that you reacted to side effect because that song is very under appreciated. If im not mistaken, they are the first group to do psytrance genre in kpop. Side effects as a whole, from the choreography, song production, and meaning is pure ART. It’s one of the most creative song I’ve ever heard.

Changbin, the rapper with the dope flow, makes a jack sparrow reference in the 3racha song Broken Compass. And then again in the song Mixtape #4 (they have a street version mv for mixtape #4) 3racha is the producing subunit of the group. They were also the predebut unit. Han (J.one) , Changbin (spearB) and Chan (CB97) make up 3racha.

Side effects is the title track of their album cle 2: Yellow Wood. Yellow was the motif. they have storyline but we're still just as confused as ever. Welcome to the fandom, we're pretty well fed so i hope there's more to come. ☺

stray kids tend to explore multiple genres but they have this uniqueness thats just so them you know?? if you wanna check more “hype” stuff from them i’d recommend you double knot, miroh, victory song and my pace. they have other side too that personally is my favorite, songs like m.i.a, 19, another day, sunshine and chronosaurus that has really meaningful lyrics that touch subjects as depression, the feeling of wasting your time or just growing up. they also have 2 songs dedicated to their fans: you can stay and phobia, and they did 2 songs for the anime “tower of god”, top and slump. they’re genuinely one of the 4th generation leaders and im so happy you got interested in them !

I think side effects the most unique thing I've seen and heard in kpop

fun fact most of their discography is produced & written by a sub-unit within stray kids called 3racha: bang chan(leader), han and changbin (the fast rapper). i recommend to start reacting to their predebut song Hellevator which they made during their survival show, then District 9 which was their debut. that's it for now since i don't want to make this comment too long lo lol i hope other stays will comment the SKZ checklist i've seen floating around under other reaction channels since i don't have it 😅

I love anyone who appreciates Side Effects, especially on a first listen! It was pretty polarizing when it came out, and I think it’s pretty brave of a young K-pop group to try something this different.

The blue plant is supposed to represent the Blue Tree Project aimed at encouraging individuals to speak about their mental health with a message of “it’s OK to not be OK”. The blue paint was inspired by Jayden Whyte who painted a tree blue on his parents’ farm as a joke however later he committed suicide late 2018. Changbin and Stray Kids would want to encourage people to speak out either if you are feeling sad or to check on someone.

Felix got me with his voice and visual then Hyunjin stole the crown with his visual and dance then Han came for the crown with his rap and charm then Chan... well, you get my drift hahaha🤪 The whole group is just so easy to love, that’s why it’s hard to choose.
