- In this video, I'll be exploring 14 fan-made Minecraft builds and guessing which country they're meant to represent. This ended up being a lot of fun and I was surprised how good some of the builds were. Special thanks to Poisoned for doing the editing on this one, feedback welcome! Enjoy:)

Always wanted to see a "professional" geoguesser player do that. Really fun to see which metas would translate in an essentially downscaled version of real life google maps.
If done right it might do really well with the algorithm, with Geoguesser popping off right now and with Minecraft being Minecraft. It also helps how both parties are really good at what they do, people tend to like that. Pippenfts would probably be down for a collab like this, if not then smaller teams wouldn't mind getting some recognition.

8:10 FYI the only other country you’d see Straße in really is austria, switzerland does not use the eszett anymore. We’d just say Strasse
8:07 little tip regarding switzerland: in switzerland, we don't use the ß (sharp S), and instead substitute it with ss, so streets here are labelled as Strasse instead of Straße.

In the Georgia round, with the hint of the highest mountain being 5100m you should have ruled out China, India and Pakistan, all those countries have much higher peaks in the Himalayas
Great idea.
One hint: street signs where the street name starts "Ul" (sfort for "ulica") and it precedes the name is 100% a Slavic country, it cannot be Hungary. Hungarian street signs will typically have the full word "utca" (street) or "út" (road) and the name itself comes first - like "Fő utca" ("Main Street").

I didn’t expect this to be quite interesting from the video title. Thought you’d generate a random seed, teleported to a random location then guess where you are on the map.

Awesome video zig! Loving the content and editing. One piece of critique for if you do this again - maybe don't consider the actual minecraft material as much as the vibe and color and stuff? It came up a few other times but was probably most prominent with that sandstone throwing you off on the Estonian church. Great video regardless though!

Bro, you should get in touch with some people at Minecraft: Build the Earth. They're literally recreating the earth at 1:1 scale, and they have a TON of progress. Like, entire cities and shit. It would be such a good challenge to play geoguessr on their server.

I have probably seen the St Olaf's Church in Estonia but don't actively remember it. However I could derive from the similarities in language that this was for some saint named Olaf and had to be Estonia, and probably only Tallinn would have a church of this size. I don't know if in Georgia chess is mandatory but in Armenia chess is mandatory till like grade 4 or 5 and also the highest peak of 5193 meters or Mt. Elbrus is actually located in Russia, just near the border

Legendary video
When you see a "W" in a Slavic language, it's almost certainly Polish (they use W more than V for the "v" sound). The only exceptions might be foreign names like "Street of Winston Churchill", then it could be other countries. :)

Note that the Croatian alphabet doesn't use "w" and I don't think the Hungarian does either, so the street name could have barred these 2 countries. Referring to map at 4:11
there is a mod for minecraft where u can teleport to sertain parts of the reallife world but with no buildings you should make a server with that and people should teleport where they want and build

You have to understand that this video is not only for the normal audience but for a wider audience as well, that's why the editing style is different to fit a lot of the gaming videos in 2022, also if you could, please explain to me what is so "annoying" and "unprofessional" cause most other people say otherwise, thanks!
@@PoisonedArrowGR The editing here is like it's targeted towards a hyperactive child with ADD. Random zooms every few seconds, strange sound effects, weird full screen color shifts? It's as if the editor expects the viewer to be uninterested in the actual content, so they add in a bunch of annoying crap to draw attention. The constant zooming in and out is particularly egregious. It happens so frequently at random times for no reason that it's legitimately infuriating.
It is a really, really interesting video idea!
