This is probably the best feature of Hearthstone since they introduced adventures back with Naxx. It's just so much fun to build your deck around the incredibly imbalanced cards you get!
After completing all classes, I must say that some classes are really reliant on getting good synergy cards if you want to win, and even then you have to roll the right final boss. For example the final boss that mills your deck is devastating if your deck is slow and you don't draw your artifact cards.
Agree! I recently had a zoo-kazakus-krul-reno-warlock with the DK, Jaraxxus, +1+1 and draw 2 passives, and the boombot and extra turn treasures. It was so damn op and glorious
Damn, that's lucky. I haven't gotten to go against Ixlid yet AND have the Amulet of Domination. I'd love to poison Xol or Azari on turn two or something.
That was incredible to watch. His mouse strokes have such grace, and his commentary is so relatable. It's incredible to think how he is thinking. Blessed Trump
I ended up doing a C'thun priest run with the staff of summoning. By the end of the run, I had 6 5 cost Cthuns and I got offered Cthun synergy in every pack but one. turns out cutting the mana cost of cthun in half is preeeeeeeeeeeety good.
Sistah If you think about it, it gives the same amount of rewards as icecrown. 3 packs + legendary. It just doesnt feel like that much because they are quests instead of rewards for completing a wing
I just wish you could get progress towards your daily quests. HS is already the least generous game out there, making a super fun game mode that has no incentive to play is awfully odd.
juttyism Well techically there are now gonna be daily quests in rotation that asks you to perform a dungeon run and the rewards a classic card pack so thats pretty good too.
All the replies defending Blizzard: "Well, technically Blizzard isn't ripping you off as hard as theoretically was possible, so you should be thankful." Same with that stupid video Noxious did. "People need to enjoy playing the game instead of always wanting a reward.", says our mister I spend 600$ each expansion, so I forgot there are people who don't have all the cards yet and therefore cant 'enjoy' the way I do.
I'm kinda split on my opinion on this one. It is an interesting idea, and it is nice to have something more friendly to newer F2P players, but the reward is ... nothing. Beating it with each class just gets you a card back which I'm not crazy about personally. I dunno doesn't feel very rewarding or worth my time, once you get past the pack quests.
In my second run through I ended up gathering 3 C'thuns and a bunch of other C'thun cards along with trigger battlecries twice as warlock. I served C'Thun well. Also to say impossible to Deck Synergy Trump here was my deck list for my Second Warlock deck for the final boss. Deck: Corruption (starter) Mortal Coil (starter) Voidwalker (starter) Beckoner of Evil x3 Drain Soul x 2 Knife Juggler (starter) Sunfury Protector(starter) Disciple of C'Thun x2 Drain Life (starter) Imp Master (starter) Twilight Elder x2 C'Thun's Chosen x3 Dark Iron Dwarf (starter) Hellfire (starter) Doomguard (starter) Usher of Souls Siphon Soul Twin Emperor Vek'lor Chromaggus Lord Jaraxxus C'Thun x3 Molten Giant Dungeon Cards: Battle Totem = Trigger Battlecries twice Crystal Gem = + 1 Mana Gem Boots of Haste = 1 mana your minions cost (0) this turn Gloves of Mugging = 1 mana steal 3 cards from your opponent
I really hope Blizzard can be swayed to give us ANY kind of reward for doing these runs. Sure, they're really fun, but fun really isn't going to keep people interested forever when they can't grow their actual collection at all while playing this mode.
Because theyre too money hungry to do that. Ever since they merged with Activision. Hearthstone is the least generous card game in terms of earning cards in game.
"Your minions have permanent stealth" is somewhat surprisingly EASILY one of the most powerful effects. I've gone 8 wins on every run in which I got permanent stealth; it's so powerful to be able to have ongoing effects that don't die, such as Emperor Thaurissan and Rag. Just don't go for taunt minions after you pick it :p
If you REALLY want to stomp, the best thing I have found so far is the +1/+1 to all your minions effects with Paladin, since it buffs your recruits. I got 2 of that upgrade in a run, along with the deathknight. Turns out none of the bosses are strong enough to beat a 4/4 hero power.
Getting 100 health is op on top of that i got "wish" an item that restores health to full along with summoning full board of legendaries along with reno jackson for 2nd full heal so op along with blood reaver guldan too op
Nebuli2 Unless your last boss is beholder that shits at your minions. Or king that highroll treasure that copy a minion and fill your hand with it. And if that minion is a frozen wall you are now playing MEX-USA border simulator from Mexican perspective.
I'm on my first dungeon run now at 7 wins. When I got the options for passive upgrades, I took starting with an extra mana twice so I begin each game ramped to 3 Mana on turn one immediately, and when I got a treasure that just went in the deck, I chose the one that fills your hand with coins; also most of my minions are mid-high cost minions, lots of big taunts and a few things that give divine shield (paladin), along with resource generators such as Ysera and lich King. It also has emperor thaurisan's along with some hand buff cards to make it a mid-late game powerhouse, or even ridiculous early turns with some big minions and filling your hand with coins. Probably not the smartest choice of upgrades and creature selection, but it's basically an attempt at brute forcing my way through the dungeon with more value earlier and too many medium-big threats they can't possibly deal with for an extended period of time, along with the mana to use them efficiently. It's worked so far; now we gotta see how it works on the 8th boss I face.
Finished an amazing run with Warlock. The amulet that reduces mana cost to 5 on anything 5 or over. 5 mountain giants and 6 molten giants. Pretty much breezed through every boss.
You've got to be kidding me. The Thaddock Trump played against was stupid. The one I played against had quest on turn 4 into prep quest. I lost that match.
Mofire - MS It varies. I've beaten all 9 heroes, and have had each boss spaz and fail, and almost every boss pull insane shit out of their ass at one point or another. Superpowered Candlebeard is so far my least favorite to play against. Fucking charging coin generators/card draw...
River: I just went up against Candlebeard as encounter 6 or 7. I can agree it's complete BS, especially when you're playing a slower deck. I managed to live on 4 hp thanks to Potion of Vitality. It's essentially old style Face Hunter except he doesn't substitute quality for Charge. It's just not fun to have to deal with charging Magma Ragers and Sneed's Old Shredder trading and popping out Deathwing. It's basically the only encounter I don't like.
When you pick a certain set of cards like Dragon priest or the Cthun one, the following choices will be way more likely to feature the same set or something similar. That means that if you pick Cthun cards in the first choice, it is possible to get that set every time. You can also have multiple Cthuns which is crazy.
Ye the dungeon mode is really fun, but lets be honest.. a card back the only price you can earn? cmon blizzard.. at least a pack for every hero. jesus christ.
A card back for defeating the dungeon 9 times is pretty fucking cheap. I know Trump made it look easy to beat it, but he got reasonably lucky with the bosses not countering his deck, his deck was ridiculously strong (don’t expect to get something like that every time) and of course he’s a good player. Beating it 9 times will take most players at least 5 hours, and no rewards dåat all during that time and only a paltry card back for defeating it all? That’s borderline insulting
Yea, true. I mean look at Karazhan - You get pretty strong cards. Yes, its not free, but still. Some of them are even kinda essential to some decks. Medivs Valet in Tempo Mage for example. That feeling of joy, when you beat the dungeon for the first time, and then you just get nothing. but like i said, its a really fun mode none the less. i just dont think that anyone will be still playing it in 2 months.
There's a $30,000 contest by Twitch about beating all the bosses on a live stream in the least amount of attempts and the fastest time within the first 10 days of the release ^_^ I got close to 3 Champs completed, but Warrior, Warlock, Shaman, and Rogue are super difficult to win 8 in a row with
Suga ttaemune its not like you get what was it? Like 8 free packs from the dungeon run quests for free?? Ans then a daily quest giving one classic pack for defeating 5 bosses... And you got a free legendary card at the start? Wtf do you want
I got with pala "all your minions get +1+1" and "hero power upgraded and costs 1 mana". So every turn 1 mana 2 2/2 feelsgoodman The final boss literally survived on one health.
The best way to beat the mode is Hunter and pick the "all minions that cost above 5 cost 5. And go all in for big beasts and the hero card, it's insane value and I heated the fine boss easy, later you have to think a bit about ordering and what zombest is the best and how you manage you hp because of that I am also suggesting to pick the double hp it will help you so much later in the run.
I'd love to see more dungeon runs in future expansions. Not just bosses next time around, but packs of trash mobs too. It could be a board of strong minions that need to be cleared to progress, sort of like Romulo in Kara, or a bunch of low-health heroes like a souped-up version of the Paladin duo (forgot their names).
Trump might laugh about getting offered awaken the makers, but I actually build a deathratlle priest with the quest that got 8 wins. Also got the mirror that puts copies of minions into your deck so I could put the quest reward in my deck.
Trump, I lay down the challenge to you of milling the lich king as mage using LOTS of draw cards leaving nearly no cards in your deck then King Togwaggle to swap decks then play Counterspell to deny the ransom, finishing him off with his own deck- you'll probably need to use stuff like kabal lacky + counterspell first turn but I'd love to see if you can do it :D (I would try this stuff myself but I'm so new to Hearthstone that I don't have any good cards)
I made an INSANE rogue deck that had VanCleef with a bunch of combo cards AND N'zoth with a bunch of Deathrattle cards, but the deck was lacking 1 and 2 drops so I got Justicar's Ring to supply that. Got rekt at turn 2 by that "poisonous for heroes" guy at level 6/8.
The first time I fought that quest rogue, it did pretty well... completed quest in turn 3. Luckily, I had an aggro warrior build and killed him by turn 5.
The luck counter is overheated. Especially at the last boss; getting alex from historian , drawing ysera and getting exactly nightmare and awakens from her, then top decking horn to recruit malygos. Just WTF man D:
Dungeon runs are probably the best thing Blizzard has put out. If they made dungeon runs give rewards of any kind, I would be so happy. Maybe a pack every 8 completed run or a hundred gold every 20 bosses defeated
In my second run I got Raza into Shadow Reaper & Lyra (same pick) into a choice between Reno and Profet Velen. (I have a screen shot to confirm this) At the boss battle I go up again the devourer and he discards every, single, one, of the cards that I mentioned (I picked Reno). He then also only survived with 3 hp after that I had been sitting and hitting him with shadow form whilst he had healed from the 1/4 demon with lifesteal. Just my luck.
Speaking of luck: I'm up against the darkness with my super-ramp-quest-druid. I start with 2 mana crystals and my enemies' minions cost 1 more. My opening hand is Jungle giants, the treasure card that gives me a free turn for 0 (since it's battle 8) and the wand that draws you 3 cards and make em cost 0. Turn 1: Play quest, pass. Turn 2: Play the wand, I draw Aviana (!!!!), Savage combatant and Tortollan Forager. Play Tortollan Forager, Savage Combatant and Aviana (in this order, not to fuck up), take an extra turn. Quest is 2/5. Turn 2.2: I have 4 mana, play 3 more 5-attack minions, complete quest, play Barnabus. Turn 3 onward was just a steamroll.
my first run was a deathrattle priest/big priest with the all 5 or more cost 5 and the deathrattles trigger twice, it was insane aboslutely destroyed the last boss the darkness
Still haven't beat it w/ warrior after 5 tries.... always 7th or 8th... Beat it on first try with "big druid"... with the 5+ cost 5 boost w/ mostly "stomp" and 1 ramp picks... and a hydronox to go with my 3 lich kings. That was laughingly easy. Tbh, given the difficulties of the last fight, big is probably the way to go. None of the other picks, even flag, can really outpace the endless value they spam out. And the hp makes smork too hard. It makes harder games early but to win it all... sacrifices must be made.
I almost lost to giant rat because I kept going face but then he had like five rats and he played a timber wolf. Praise holy nova boys. PS you got so lucky with the dragon priest fight, she literally always has dragons. Idk how you dodged that bullet.
The quest rogue is like other quest rogues, they either have the cards or they don't. Although the AI did a lot of stupid mistakes, I have played it when it completed the quest on turn 4.
Wish that Vu was that easy for me to beat: he ALWAYS trades whenever I play against him, and he always manages to get a chest up to at least 15 in each stat
Why is amaz the first boss?
sjt t LOL you know what... he does look a litter bit alike the rat boss
I mean ... a tiny bit
Since when did Amaz take mitch jones place?
sjt t Don't use rates as an insult. It isn't. That's vile. Humans are no more special than any other creature.
Ben Tarr well that's a matter of opinion and either way it's a joke...
sjt t It's not a matter of opinion. In the slightest.
It doesn't matter if it's a joke, it's horrible.
"You're not kawaii at all" How dare you disrespect Flurgl-chan like that!
This is probably the best feature of Hearthstone since they introduced adventures back with Naxx. It's just so much fun to build your deck around the incredibly imbalanced cards you get!

Ville Jääheimo I just beat Azari recently. Couldn't have done it if I didn't topdeck Wish as the last card in my deck.
+xXjesperoXx That sounds amazing.
I beat the final boss by adding a copy of a deadly spore to my deck. Turn 1 playing it him having no taunt and I killed him LUL
you legend
Damn, that's lucky. I haven't gotten to go against Ixlid yet AND have the Amulet of Domination. I'd love to poison Xol or Azari on turn two or something.
HOLY HELL! that ending
T H E C O L O S S A L M A N
Too bad this dungeon isn’t dark, or darker, or even isn’t *darkest*
4 mana 7/7 or even the dankest
IN THE LIGHT
Not Blackleaf! No!!!
"Prodigious size alone does not dissuade the sharpened blade." Back to hell, faceless!
You've been outplayed by a 4 mana 7/7 with taunt
Appropriate Dragon's Dogma music at the end boss there Jens
insta liked when i heard it
LOVED Dragon's Dogma theme on the last boss, Jens you never cease to amaze me.
Edit: HOLY SHIT watch the video until the end! Stuff of nightmare!
That was incredible to watch. His mouse strokes have such grace, and his commentary is so relatable. It's incredible to think how he is thinking. Blessed Trump

I wish dungeon runs had rewards

The real treasure was the decks we made along the way.
this would have been so much better with one reward like a pack for each class you clear
well technically if you draw raza you won't have any duplicate razas in your deck and you have twice the chance to draw it, so it's not a bad option.
but kazakus shall lose his battlecry
fuck good point
Same logic I use when I see one of my two girlfriends. Bahaha.... oh, me
If you want to find the chest key you hold the bottom candle then dig around in the soot
Trump just wreaking havoc in the dungeon!
Infinite Athletics Trump wreaking havoc in America
.
In my second run through I ended up gathering 3 C'thuns and a bunch of other C'thun cards along with trigger battlecries twice as warlock. I served C'Thun well.

Can’t believe Alex works on these bosses
I really hope Blizzard can be swayed to give us ANY kind of reward for doing these runs. Sure, they're really fun, but fun really isn't going to keep people interested forever when they can't grow their actual collection at all while playing this mode.
Because theyre too money hungry to do that. Ever since they merged with Activision. Hearthstone is the least generous card game in terms of earning cards in game.
they expect people to preorder packs every expansion, like 50 dollars a season, fuck that
Zakading I mean at least we get a few pack which is nice but I agree should be more rewards
iḿ sure that will be heavily abused if we do, maybe 1st time rewards other than the card back, but that's it.
Or maybe change the amount of dust u get from legendaries to 800 instead of 400 so you actually dont feel terrible when you get duplicates.
27:51 really like you pick that theme for the intro of that :D
That Dragon's Dogma victory music at the end was a nice touch.
Nebuli2 Unless your last boss is beholder that shits at your minions. Or king that highroll treasure that copy a minion and fill your hand with it. And if that minion is a frozen wall you are now playing MEX-USA border simulator from Mexican perspective.

Mofire - MS
It varies.
It's basically the only encounter I don't like.
on 7th boss
WAXMANCER STURMIII!!
*oh no*
When you pick a certain set of cards like Dragon priest or the Cthun one, the following choices will be way more likely to feature the same set or something similar. I got with pala "all your minions get +1+1" and "hero power upgraded and costs 1 mana".
So every turn 1 mana 2 2/2 feelsgoodman
The final boss literally survived on one health.
that's the boss 7 or 8 guarentee ;D
Fuck yeah dungeon runs! Legit was up until about 4:30 this morning just running them over and over. Surprisingly fun.
The final boss is... Trump in Titan form!? 33:21
So we are actually fighting Smaug? "Show yourself, wretched thief.", protective of his treasure and he can only breathe fire.
Best deck ive had was Shaman, every time I picked Jade cards. Got double starting hp and battlecrys trigger twice. Soooo OP for jade
Excellent choice in music Jens.
The best way to beat the mode is Hunter and pick the "all minions that cost above 5 cost 5. Trump might laugh about getting offered awaken the makers, but I actually build a deathratlle priest with the quest that got 8 wins. Also got the mirror that puts copies of minions into your deck so I could put the quest reward in my deck.
My first run was priest also and I nailed it first try. Fatigued the Darkness like a boss. Unique priest is overkill.
6:15 YOU CANT FOOL ME, THAT IS A JERMA985 LAUGH AND YOU KNOW IT IS
speaking of that deadly spore monster, I actually amulet of dominition on it and used to kill the last three bosses
"I'm the true dragon queen here," Trump, 2017
Paladin legendary with double deathrattle is very op in dungeon .
Wow, that posionous spore play! Well played!
Two razas is good though, when you draw one there's no more duplicates so they're always active. Just doubles the chance to get him
I made an INSANE rogue deck that had VanCleef with a bunch of combo cards AND N'zoth with a bunch of Deathrattle cards, but the deck was lacking 1 and 2 drops so I got Justicar's Ring to supply that. Got rekt at turn 2 by that "poisonous for heroes" guy at level 6/8.
The first time I fought that quest rogue, it did pretty well... completed quest in turn 3.
Luckily, I had an aggro warrior build and killed him by turn 5.
hey guys i tried the Spitefull summoner + Grand Archivist + Call of the wild deck and its really good
"We can't possibly pick enough C'thun synergy" oh how little you knew
What is the name of that laughing sound effect from 27:15?
The luck counter is overheated. Especially at the last boss; getting alex from historian , drawing ysera and getting exactly nightmare and awakens from her, then top decking horn to recruit malygos. Just WTF man D:
had a run with 5 17/17 C'thun, together with battle cry trigger twice enchant. Still lost to the darkness' entombs, mind control and twisting nether.
Hey Trump, how much value is a 5-Mana 8/8 with the " *Battlecry:* Deal 55 damage to the enemy hero"?
I was crushing it with jade rogue. With aya, swarmers and sonya combos, I defeated king towaggle with up to 18/18 jades
22:07 was pretty awesome.
That ending, oh my god. It made me startled.
Thanks to Trump I always come back to this game. He makes it look fun.
Dungeon runs are probably the best thing Blizzard has put out. If they made dungeon runs give rewards of any kind, I would be so happy. Maybe a pack every 8 completed run or a hundred gold every 20 bosses defeated
27:55 smaug reference
I had to scroll pretty far to find out if anyone else mentioned it
For anyone, that ending Music is from Dragons Dogma soundtrack.
''We even stole all the treasure! I'm a genius.''
In my second run I got
Raza into Shadow Reaper & Lyra (same pick) into a choice between Reno and Profet Velen.
(I have a screen shot to confirm this)
At the boss battle I go up again the devourer and he discards every, single, one, of the cards that I mentioned (I picked Reno).
He then also only survived with 3 hp after that I had been sitting and hitting him with shadow form whilst he had healed from the 1/4 demon with lifesteal.
Just my luck.
Asari the devourer is so fucking hard. I managed to beat it with burn mage and warlock.
Speaking of luck:
I'm up against the darkness with my super-ramp-quest-druid.
Am I the only one getting destroyed by A.F. Kay on round 4 every time??? HELP!
is this a troll?
lol nice one
turn 6 and later on will be difficult though :D
"we can't possibly pick enough c'thun synergy"
Tell that to my 22/22 permanent stealth c'thun bro.
Graves did double northshire cleric, and ran out of cards. His voiceline for being almost out of cards was "Oof! Never go full northshire..."
“There couldn’t possibly be enough C’thun synergy!” Oh that’s where you’re wrong trump. I got 5 c’thuns with double battlecry in one of my runs
"Can't ever get enough C'thun synergy."
Hindsight 20/20, bud.
Nice touch on the final boss ^^
The new outro is even cuter than the penguin. Oh my god.
I love the nod to Smaug
my first run was a deathrattle priest/big priest with the all 5 or more cost 5 and the deathrattles trigger twice, it was insane aboslutely destroyed the last boss the darkness
This mode feels like a rougelike. I love it!
That Kill on the 5th boss was hilarious
On my first playthrough I didn't notice the rogue playing the quest and just let them complete it.
Still won by playing 7 Aya Blackpaws.
having 2 raza in the unique pack is fine cuz when you draw one you dont have any duplicates in the deck (if you got it earlier)
this game mode is brilliant. for a solo adventure it's very replayable.
Dragon: Ha you can’t destroy me and my 70 health
Trump: Get Alexstrza
Dragon: Wait what is that.
That was a pretty sick edit jens
Still haven't beat it w/ warrior after 5 tries.... always 7th or 8th...
Beat it on first try with "big druid"... with the 5+ cost 5 boost w/ mostly "stomp" and 1 ramp picks... and a hydronox to go with my 3 lich kings. That was laughingly easy.
Tbh, given the difficulties of the last fight, big is probably the way to go. None of the other picks, even flag, can really outpace the endless value they spam out. And the hp makes smork too hard. It makes harder games early but to win it all... sacrifices must be made.
did a double battlecry rogue with C'thun and rekt was so good
The trump laugh meme is so good. Editor please put it everywhere
Dat attack on Titan Trump in the out tro creeps me out!
I did maybe 10 runs and haven't cleared it yet and Trump did it first try .-.
I almost lost to giant rat because I kept going face but then he had like five rats and he played a timber wolf. Praise holy nova boys.
PS you got so lucky with the dragon priest fight, she literally always has dragons. Idk how you dodged that bullet.
I've had the most succeses when I had starting with extra mana, and backpack. Or deathrattle twice and +1/+1.
The dragons dogma music is so good.
27:15 The Synergy! xD
what's the background noise?
very relaxing
Where is that 27:16 laugh from?
The quest rogue is like other quest rogues, they either have the cards or they don't. Although the AI did a lot of stupid mistakes, I have played it when it completed the quest on turn 4.
The questrogue literally stops functioning if you play allearotic cube, for the record. My cousin and I found that out in a wonderful round.
JENS' EDITING PogChamp Clap
nice little touch with dragons dogma :)
Wish that Vu was that easy for me to beat: he ALWAYS trades whenever I play against him, and he always manages to get a chest up to at least 15 in each stat
By the way Double Raza always works (if Trump's deck didn't already have duplicates).
I am suddenly interested to know if the art on toggwaggle has eight fingers
He’s so lucky he drew that recruit 3 on the 7th boss, I have fought him several times and it’s PRETTY hard
Okay, I'm stumped. What is that Dragon's Dogma theme at the end?
He looked like a Titan at the end there.
