thank you I got water in my headphone jack and did the hairdryer trick etc but after doing that still on headphone mode so came on here found you went through all steps except the assisted touch followed that and brilliant now got sound back ! fantastic as I rely on this for work every day thank you !
Oh my gosh....you are a lifesaver! My volume button to raise volume, got stuck so I could turn volume down but not up. I have been searching for days trying to come up with a fix. I restarted, tried things in settings, watched videos....and the best I could come up with was to ask Siri to adjust the sound each time. I watched this video for about a minute and found the answer, which was to swipe (down on my iPad) and adjust volume there! I thought that little box was just for music so I never used it. Now my problem is workable! Thank you SO much!!

The last one worked for me in a way. I wasn’t going to delete everything I have on my IPad especially because it’s new, so I just reseted the settings only and it worked!

Wow! This was the answer to my problem. I have an older iPad that doesn't have that toggle switch on the side. I tried the second method (took a long time for me to swipe to reveal the controls) and discovered that my volume control was completely dark. When I put my finger on it I was able to bring it up to full sound strength and my test Vimeo had sound!! I had tried powing off, updating my settings increasing the sound with the buttons on the side, and asking Siri to turn up the volume. None of those worked!! I would never have had any idea that there was a sound control where it turned out the problem was! Still have no idea how it got turned off, but THANK YOU for the solution!!

How I fixed mine: "hold down the off and home button for ten seconds, wait for screen to turn black. Once black, hold both again, it will show a white screen with the apple logo, wait for it it either say type password (if have) then just continue on with your sound! 😀👍🏻 Edit: Instead of wait for it to say type password (if have) just press home screen. Whopps! 😅
This was really helpful one of my speakers wasn’t working so I watched this video nothing worked so when he said to erase all content and settings it worked my speaker started working again, it’s a miracle.

The mute and I mute toggle switch. If it has been flicked down, and you see the orange it means your iPad is muted. Then flip it up and test the sound. If your toggle switch is already flicked, just flick it down and flick it back up. Jut Incase it didn’t register that it was unmuted. Test the sound out, if it doesn’t work then move on to the second step. Swipe up on the bottom, there is a volume bar. Now if yours is just like that (all the way down) t means your volume is as it’s lowest setting. If it’s in between, slide it all the way to the top. Test the sound out. If it still doesn’t work, we are gonna try a different method called a system touch. Go to accessibility and go to the AssistiveTouch menu. Turn it on. And this little button appears. Click that button, it brings up a menu go to device and there are a few different options. There’s volume up and volume down. Go ahead and hit volume up a few times to make sure your volume is on. See if the sound works, if not, just take a look to see if it is muted.
