I've been telling folk tobuy gold when it was 250 dollers a oz and you could buy sovereigns for £35 each , now I'm rich 😅and those that didn't listen are still working to live 😮
Here in Canada, that special premium on gold that is less than .995 fine is called SALES TAX and its 13%. I've been yearning for some sovereigns but can't justify the extra money for them...
I usually don't pay much of a premium over spot for Sovereigns. Usually they have the lowest premiums on gold coins here in the U.S. Gold isn't just gold.
Always good information, I'm just starting to collect sovereigns again, its very addictive,so I'm going to keep on keeping on, thanks for sharing your knowledge 👍
i was looking at atkinsons buy back prices and was surprised when i saw the higher premium coins seem to only get the same as britannias, but i like buying different coins whatever the premium, i suppose the bonus is if you sell 30 1oz coins and they are all different, good chance they will want them all, and maybe wouldn't if they were all britannias
you are right. here dealers pay below melt for sovereigns. some do not even want them. on auctions like high bid I buy them way below spot. NO TAX here also on gold. Jim
I don't like how gold goes up and down all day as I've brought a young head elizabeth sovereighn this morning and if I would of waiting till now I could of saved myself £15, im loosing money on buying at the wrong times 😢
Ultimately the market will move where it wants. Today was NFP news release 13.30 UK time, which often affects gold and causes some volatility. Cost averaging should protect you over time
@SovereignSaurus I hope so, as I'm buying at a high point im already on a loss if I was to sell now, not planning on selling tho just carnt wait yo see it balance out atleast, keep hearing gold is going to be at a really high come end of year what's your thoughts on that?
Why would you buy gold to sell it in such a limited time frame. Gold's a hold, lock in your savings for the month and keep it for years, decades. At the other end, minor fluctuations in spot won't matter. You're on a boat, there's waves, the boat bobs up and down. All the best. What irritates me is how fast gold has risen relative to my income in the past two years. In this sense I'm not the only one, more restricted in our buying than we'd like
I've often directed content providers to the SS channel, particularly if they have poor presentations or lack lnowledge of their coin collecting subject.
Much appreciated. I haven't a background in video production or anything like that but just keep trying to make improvements as I go. It's great being part of the community and sharing the hobby with like-minded people 👍🏼
Nothing to do with the coins themselves, just joking around there. Hardworking hands 😁 If I don't wear gloves then there's comments about a speck of dust on my nail or a cut on my finger or something so I can't really win 🤣
Gold is gold but you never just buy "gold" you buy "bairds 1oz 24 ct gold bar" or royal mint 1oz 24ct 1oz gold Britannia 2024 Proof" or "US mint 1oz 22ct gold eagle 2024 bullion “ .

Yeah some people asking for information want you to buy it for them, give them the profits and reimburse them if it goes down 🤣
A classic example of Gold is Gold except when it isn't, could be when comparing a proof coin against the bullion version.
Yes exactly... Try buying a desirable proof coin at spot

Yeah it's a shame, at least there are some decent offerings from the Canadian mint to keep you going
20% VAT here in the UK ... Ouch
@@hg4144 No VAT on Sovereigns in the UK...

Yes exactly 👌🏽
Gold is at all time highs, while silver is at least 50% below its all time high (£24 vs £50)
Yes you could interpret that a few ways I suppose

Definitely worse addictions out there just go steady ,😁

Yeah that seems to be the case for many dealers despite charging different premiums on the way out

Nice pick ups below spot surely 👌🏽
where is "here"?
The people the say "Gold is Gold" are the same people who don't have any. Then pay 3x the premium to buy Silver. But NEVER say "Silver is Silver" 🤪
🤣
If you have to sell for scrap, they don't care if bullion or proof
Except when you have to sell your Silver for scrap
I get those 2002 sovereigns every time they become available.
I even separately cost averaage them.
Yeah the special year sovs seems to do ok
You said that very well, Bravo and Thank you for always sharing your knowledge.
Thanks mate, hope you're well ?🍻
7:05 I agree. I just got a 1957 sovereign. Video out on monday👀
Nice
stackers versus collector (investment versus numismatic purchase)
👌🏽

Well said, here in the US it’s the same
Good to know thanks for sharing
Where did you get them sovereign tubes and capsules from?
There's some links in the video description 👍🏼
Great video buddy.

Yeah, you're gonna be back of spot selling 20 francs in Oz.
Yes 👍🏼

Probably a stupid question, but why are you wearing gloves when handling encapsulated coins ?
Nothing to do with the coins themselves, just joking around there. Hardworking hands 😁
If I don't wear gloves then there's comments about a speck of dust on my nail or a cut on my finger or something so I can't really win 🤣
If gold was gold, then I'd be able to buy a 1649 Unite at spot price.
You and me both 😁
ive been touching my plastic capsules worh my hands but never the coims will the capsules be ok ?
They will be fine I'm just joking around there 😁
cheers i really got worried there that ide made a mortal error on coin collection, i appreciate your reply.
Some humans have extremely acidic finger juices' and that will eat the plastics in no time, ruining your plastics investment :)

Thanks for the visit 365 🍻 Enjoy the weekend
My capsules would rather have fingerprints than nasty looking gloves.
🤣
