It's sad to think about all that happened. by the end max really didn't deserve liz, especially when you saw what max could have been in the end of the world episode.
+Jennifer Bailey Max is far from perfect, but I think that by the end of the whole show (after season 3) we were shown how devoted he is to Liz and making her dreams come true. Everything went wrong because of the Future Max plot device of season 2, which has to be the dumbest idea on this show. It forced Liz to push Max right into Tess' arms, and as we already knew from season 1 he was designed or programmed to desire Tess and to want to impregnate her (there are even illustrations pertaining to the latter in the Antarian book!). Normally he resisted this because he loved Liz and wanted to be with her, but when he finally believed that he had truly lost her (at the prom, where Liz begged him to let her go to end her pain), his heart was broken, he turned to his alien side, and basically destroyed himself. Yes, that was stupid, and Max should have known--as his own heart tried to tell him--that Liz would never cheat on him and she must have had a reason to push him away, but so much was going on in addition that he was overwhelmed, and Tess was right there to pick up the pieces.
So yes, there is fault and blame on Max, but it is nevertheless understandable. Losing Liz just wrecked him, and he was lost. Otherwise, their relationship would have been as Future Max himself described it--they made love in the first half of season 2, became inseparable, eloped and wedded in Las Vegas two years later, and were happily married and in love until literally the end of the world 12 years after that. I think Max deserved a second chance, and I think he proved himself worthy of Liz.
I think he did... There were moments were I was a little bitter, but its nice that, they actually showed that through Liz. She didnt just forget about Tes, she made peace with what happened, and when Max died to save her, she realized he would always pick her.
At the same time, he didnt cheat, so from a moral standing, he is not in the wrong exactly
I don't think Max was undeserving of Liz. I love Liz, but we can't ignore her part in what happened between them in S2. She ended the relationship, pretended to sleep with Kyle and even dumped Max again at Prom. Yes, she had very good reasons for why she did all of this, but Max didn't know that, and it seems a bit unfair to fault him for trying to move on when he doesn't know about FMax and all of that.
Liz ruined max first she made him believe she slept with Kyle and broke his heart then when he slept with tess who was manipulating him liz claimed he broke her heart two wrongs don’t make a right liz you fucked up first

I felt so bad for both girls so Not a dreamer Max I don't care for he played with the both.
+erica otero No, Max truly loved Liz, but she dumped him for an important reason that she couldn't tell him about (stupid plot device), which left him despondent and lost. And while it's true that he went with Tess and slept with her even though he didn't love her, she's the one with ulterior motives who seduced him while he was at his most vulnerable, even though she knew that Max & Liz loved each other. I sympathize with both Liz and Max who were so artificially placed in this contrived situation, and I do not sympathize with Tess, whose goal was to get Max, get pregnant, and get back to Antar. And she murdered Alex along the way.

I never liked max liz and when tess came into the pic I just loved her, I like liz just not with max, she deserves better
Actually she Dosent deserve better she treated Kyle like a piece of shit in season 1 aswell as her good friend Alex I love liz and she’s one of my favouriting female characters in tv but she wasn’t as great as you all make her out to be
