      can you hit a tatami mat with those short range of motion strikes to provide a visual for the cut. And can you do it again after that with a cloth over it. So we as viewers can see the depth and effectiveness of short range of motion strikes with a knife

    I suggest you should put foam at the end of those pipes, else you might accidentally hit your precious eyes by those pipe ends. Keep safe.

    Ok, it works to practice forms but the evil heavy muk yan chong is very good for hitting it hard as you practice more and get it better. And the kicks, a little bit of a pickle.
    Anyways your dummy is an option to practice without expending $$$$$
