Saw it last night and it wont leave my mind, just like great films ought to be; Schrader is entering a new level in his career, he tackles his favorite themes and obsessions with new and beautiful cinematically results. My film of 2021, Isaac and the actors are truly terrific. 🙌🙌☮️
And oh, the score is so so amazing, written and performed by Robert Levon Been from BRMC! Gotta buy this soundtrack, cant remember the last time Ive wanted to buy an original score from a film 🙌
Is there any way I can get in contact with the director. I want to ask him what gave him the idea to portray this sort of character in this movie. Has he ever came across a man like William in real life or better you ask him and post it and tell him a big fan is highly interested in watching all his movies after watching the movie card counter

I hate how people try to twist everyone’s words to make out that they’re shitting on Star Wars. He’s talking about the blockbusters he’s been in in general... like X-Men Apocalypse, Star Wars, etc
Frank Sung taught him how to handle cards like a professional. Joe Stapleton did play cards with Oscar during the production, though not sure if he was the one that actually taught him the rules.
This film should earn Oscar an Academy Award or at least be nominated
