My Grandfather was an auto worker in Chicago in the 1960s - during a strike workers received benefits from the city that he refused. Instead he opened a hotdog and snow cone stand to support his wife until the strike was over. His words: Once a "MAN" takes a hand out his hand will always be out.

My Dad was on strike when I was born. Had two young kids and a newborn and wife he supported. Instead of getting handouts he worked unloading trucks at night and walked that picket line every day. My Dad was the strongest man I ever met.

I’m a Filipino immigrant who also worked myself to succeed & became a citizen. It’s unfortunate that they are losing their job. However if you have that experience & you’re a hard worker then you’d be able to survive just like you. President Trump is doing what needs to be done. Just like the definition of INSANITY - the president is NOT going to play like that.

That's what those services are for, Van! They're meant to be short term, when people have difficulties, not to be a way of life! I have used them myself, but when I no longer needed them, I let them go.

Van I to never relied on anybody to support me. I'm 81 years old been working since I was 12 years old long before Affirmative
Action Programs, latter DEI . Quit school at 16 since than over many years I have 2 engineering degree's, Business degree and
business Law/Contracts degrees. President Trump want's Americans to get back to merit based system; ya hustle, keep your
self straight, move up the ladder on your merit! Worked in corporate America for 23 years was given and offer to leave with a nice pension and benefits. Started a professional consulting business at age 48. I had no debt and financially well off, built my
wealth, properties, etc now retired enjoying my children, grand children, great grand children. Another important thing I've been married 58 years, a Veteran, Christian. Great Job Van keep the faith keep speaking the truth. Yes this was a shocker from my
friend Donald J Trump BUT he had to make a real change that the American people are done with supporting these programs
driving the middle class out of America. God, Family, Country ! JWH

Accidentally hit post. I saw the problem back when I was in high school. We had a video of 2 workers, one black, one white. The white actually was a bit better qualified, but my class felt the black candidate should be hired because he was black. I pointed out that the job should go to the best qualified. Otherwise, like planting the seed that's less good, you end up with a crop that is less good. I was shouted down for trying to put blacks down. I just wanted it to be fair, and for our country to excel. It is interesting that my predictions have come to fruition.

Van, while I appreciate your view, there is always a flip side to your truth. For instance, I earned an MBA and in 2008 couldn’t get a job with my state government even though I was over qualified for many jobs. It literally took me 10 months to get any job. I had no option but to apply for jobs as unemployment was high. When I finally did get a job, ppl I worked with had been there for years and I had to fire many because they had no idea how to work anymore. It was atrocious. While it could be viewed as isolated, many new hires were experiencing the same thing within their departments. It was unacceptable.

Van, WIC isn't affirmative action or dei. I'm totally white but unfortunately I'm a single mother and need help at the moment and I receive WIC. I do understand WIC does go to a good bit of black women, as almost 75% of black households do not have the father in the home. But I don't believe WIC is given to people based on affirmative action or dei. I think those programs are more so programs that take on people based strictly on race/ skin color. WIC and food stamps and such are based on income.
I love the hair btw! You've got an old school snoop dog vibe, especially when you wear the eye glasses! You look great! Love you videos! I commented recently by just wanted to say it again- I forgot that I had found you when you were watching music videos I really love! My dad worked really hard for our family. Other than the GI bill, he never got help from the government. He just worked more jobs and longer hours. The Federal government doesn't have money. They have the people's money. Any help and welfare should always be temporary for emergency situations. The Bible says that if you do not work, you should not eat. This does NOT apply to the elderly or the disabled or children. Having said this, we need work programs, training programs and there needs to be a transition period. Some things should be taken a little more slowly.

This is a good thing. The change in race relations should start in the home. Not, forceful law from Government. Because it just becomes a biased law based off skin color. Which is stupid. We have to see each other the way God sees us.

They should be focused on looking for alternative employment, they have more than enough notice.

EEOC was set up over 50 years ago to address opportunities for everyone, including those who had not been afforded the same opportunities before. At some point there is supposed to be some assessment to see if it was achieving the desired results. The problem is that it was never done, new preferred groups were invented and added. As an immigrant who is considered white, I had to suffer through the unfair (for those negatively affected) consequences of this effort. After more than 50 years, maybe it’s time to assess? It should never have been a career of several generations. Just like government welfare programs. It’s supposed to help the less fortunate dog themselves out. By their own merits. Some politicians found it useful to further their own careers and wealth.

If people obtained the jobs when they were expected to be at the job site, I don’t see any reason for them to complain after they are required to do exactly what they signed up to do. They should be thankful they have been able to work from home for the past 4-5 years. Maybe negotiate, if possible. But if I hired someone to be on the job, I’d have a hard time paying someone to be at home. Maybe we can re-interview for the job and salary?

I don"t care about what people think he did the right thing to do because people take advantage of this stuff because that is what it is so people should not get mad and go get jobs and stop depending on the goverment to support you and they need to support thereselfs

I grew up in the East point /college Park area in the Atlanta, we were very poor. I am white/Lebanese my daddy was called a Sand N___er all his life and we never got any help. My husband died in a car accident when he was 34 and left 3 young children 5,3,1. I was left to raise these kids and I never could get help. I had a little social security from my husband but I had to work my ass off to survive. I think Dei and Affirmative action is totally unfair. My kids never went to college! You won't believe how poor white people get discriminated against!
