I'll just mark any roots in the distance I can see and instantly tab up to the surface to use a shrine marker there as well. It's honestly the easiest way to find those hidden cave shrines.
Additionalky, the depths really are inverted. Mountain/hill in one means canyon in the other. And water on the surface means unpassable below. That info combined with the layer change in the minimap really helps depth traversal when you haven't unlocked the lightroots.
Omg!!! You guys have no idea how Amazing the Tip at 3:00 is. One of the hardest part is launching the Wings from the ground. Even with 6 Fans attached to them, it's nearly impossible to get the off the ground. This tip is AMAZING. Thank you for that! I'll play around with Rewind more when I get home.
@dumems. Well, at the start of the game all the Gumball Dispensers did not give me Carts. While wings and fans were abundant. I struggled a lot to get them off the ground. At this point, I've created vehicles of all sorts and laugh at how much I struggled at the beginning.

However, at the point of the game where I am at now....every idea comes at me so easily. Amazing game....just sooo much to do and discover.
You can deploy them mid air too. - While you are paragliding stop pushing forward (neutral stick) - Then go to menu and select a glider orb to drop it - Then when you press B to exit menu push forward You need to time it right so that when you push forward and press B to stop paragliding you land on the wing, it takes practice but its worth it.
An other good trick: the shrines in the overwirld are in the same position as the ligths underworld. So if you have found one, you can change the map and mark the exact same spot. Very usefull !!
those light roots also allow you to heal up when you are standing right under them. When you are in the chasm it is pretty much the only way to get healed without having to go back to the surface and then TP back to where you were.
If you prepare appropriately beforehand, Sundelions can be cooked into food that gives the same effect as being near a lightroot then you can use other food to heal yourself. Makes exploring the depths much easier.

U can ascend through zonai objects u have stuck to other things..like those huge floating platforms....i stuck a fan to the side and fell off and couldn't reach with ultrahand..ascend couldn't reach the platform...but my fan was just in range and I thought i wasnsome kind of hacker when i swam up through it
So with gloom you can just go to a light root and it will give you the heart back you don't have to go back to hyrule just go to the next light root or backtrack to the last one

Not trying to be rude but you missed a really big point. You don't have to travel to surface to clear gloom. Those light pod plants that reveal stuff? They also clear gloom. Please, so far it seems this guy is on point, but do not listen to him about the gloom clear. You can also find plants that do the same
i really hate the Battery mechanic i've upgraded it 7 times already and still i can only use my vehicles for about 30 seconds before it runs out. using the external battery parts also only gets you so far. Why just Why nintendo? Why make such an amazing building feature just to ruin it all with such a shitty battery mechanic
That trick to launch a Wing from anywhere, stationary, is genius! And I'm going to give a +1 to activating a shrine as soon as you find it. If you don't intend to enter the shrine right away, that's fine, at least activate it so you get the fast travel point.

I don't know if anyone else mentioned this, but the horses you had in BOTW carry over to TOTK. Just check the stables and you can withdraw them. I carried over the best horse from BOTW with 5 charges. 👍

Something I found from another TH-cam channel: Once you progress a little through the game and get access to the Steering Stick (or at least look around YunoboCo HQ, near Goron City), you can stick two fans on it at an angle to make not just an easy and simple flying vehicle, but a very versatile one as well. You can even stick a Brightbloom Seed on the front and fly basically anywhere in The Depths.
I've seen that around and it's always useful. very little energy needed, bare minimum parts needed. make it a favorite in auto build and its probably going to be your most used build.
Certain materials also double in fuse power if attached to arrows. They're usually monster teeth and claws. The item description will allude to this when it mentions being a good material for arrows
Got an area that you want to clear but don't want to do waste weapon durability? Place a couple flamethrowers on a platform or anything you can move. Move it towards the enemies, spin it, rewind it and turn on the flamethrowers with an arrow. You could also be less fancy and just use a single flamethrower, pick it with the ultrahand and just... yeah, you've got a flamethrower that doesn't break your shield/weapon.
Ayo! Nice tips, been playing this for a week and my advice is don't go for the Underground Zone map after doing the 1st mission down there, just go back with the picture of the statue and continue farming with the main story up there.👍

As far as I can tell, enemies tend to do more damage, but upgrading the fairies so you can upgrade your armor is basically a quest chain that puts your armor upgrading behind the curve you'd have had it in in BotW. In BotW, you could also find extremely strong weapons outright (Seriously, there were multiple royal claymores scattered around if you knew where to look). In TotK you can't get good weapons unless you kill for them, and even ones based on parts dropped from high end mini-bosses are capping out at 50-60 power.
All if this is just basic info you get in the first 2 hours this so called "Tips & Tricks" was no tips at all just explanation of simple game play mechanics

The despensers don't show how many of each thing they offer. They show what you can get from them, but the number is how many you have on hand. As far as I can tell, the despensers never run out of parts.

I second the part at 8:36 with progress part of the main story first by going to Lookout point. I explored a bit first, ended up starting the Impa quest and at some point when I found her (without spoilers), I was stuck in a high place with her & she said something along the lines of "you can use your glider to get down" or "if one has a glider..." I did not have the glider...nor could I jump into water safely 🙃. If you get in the same situation, you can just jump, have game over, and you'll thankfully be back on the ground when you revive haha

Fully agree!! It was the one thing I was really hoping for going into this game. I understand that a game can’t just hand everything to you but i just can’t justify why everything breaks so fast from a game design perspective. All it does is add stress and lower the fun by making you reluctant to use certain weapons
6:35 Where are you finding construct with good weapons? All the ones I find are holding zonite swords, old wooded shields, a stick variant or a construct bow which are all really weak.
You also have about a second before the malice damage kicks in, and the damage zones are smaller than the visual area. Firing off Giant Brightseeds in the distance with your bow or throwing them by hand (Hold R to start to throw your weapon, press UP to engage the bow fuse, and you'll just throw the item directly. Just make sure if you do it with a bomb flower you let go instantly, as that thing has a SHORT fuse when thrown by hand) isn't the only way you can use them either. You can slap them on a vehicle you make to have a huge area mobile light, that's far superior to the Zonai headlight.
Youre calling way more attention to it than the visual glitches are. Cmon now is that really necessary. Its not like Nintendo pays some guy to watch every second of footage that gets uploaded for minor visual discrepencies, they have bots that scan for keywords and specific content ID

I wouldn't say heal, as they only unlock the gloomlocked hearts, they don't fill them back up. Unless I didn't stay under them long enough...

most puzzles can be solved/skipped with ascend
Or ultrahand + recall. That has saved me in so many shrines that I got stuck in and was too stubborn to look up a guide for lol

I suggest fusing an explosive barel to a wooden stick, the throw it at a far enough enemy

Do fuse your weapons to explosive barrels, you can throw trash weapons with barrels fused to them. Amazing way to deal some good dmg.

just had this happen. If you move the hot air balloon with ultra hand theres a cinematic of falling to the earth and you're both unharmed lol

If you stop moving while gliding and drop another wing you can glide forward a lil bit and attack and you should land on it if you need to go further
