I’ve just watched a few of your videos , most recently the budget friendly video..I think you’re doing fantastic, don’t let nay sayers discourage you. Adventures are for you to enjoy, so enjoy them regardless of the successes or failures..it’s all part of the adventure..
If I had one comment that might be negative , it would be, don’t belittle your efforts , yes there are way more experienced campers but there’s always going to be people who are just starting out and actually your learning process is very interesting. I think you’re doing very well and I look forward to your future adventures.

Great video Lilu...Looking forward to seeing what the tent is!
We all have our different takes on things, but I to help on the weight and space side of things, I tend to use one of the stuff sacks I take with stuff in it (like the one for my warm jacket or my sleeping back stuff sack) as the bag for my pillow and put my spare clothes in it and use that as my pillow rather than taking an actual additional pillow. I also agree with some of the other comments below that the hand warmers and inflating device are just extra weight which one day you'll decide to leave behind in favour of a pair pf gloves and some extra puff!
Also, I'd recommend getting a head torch - it'll free up your hands rather than having to hold a hand torch. Especially useful when you come to putting up your tent in the dark!

      @iwalker3809 ปีที่แล้ว

Agree, headtorches make the most sense for campers, although an alternative I've found works is an AA size torch with a strong belt clip which means you can attach to the front of a baseball cap and has a removable silicone diffuser (lantern mode for dangling in tent) I like the Lumintop Tool AA running on lithiums. (720 lumens)
Good for summer use when may take a cap anyway but alas no red light mode.

Always bring a tarp. Should have a small (150x200, 5x7 min) for emergencies, quiksets for lunch or to dodge a shower. Also good in case your tent/weather report isn't as good as expected. Plan for the worst, enjoy it anyway!

The hand warmers would be great for a day walk, but camping? Once they run out, dead weight, get some nice silk glove liners, all the little luxuries soon add up. Something thing that i see a lot of people doing is packing their stuffsacks/drybags to almost overflowing, better to buy another couple of bags as over full ones will not sit properly in a rucsac leading to lost space/uneven loading. Dont be afraid to have your tent outside your pack (on the top) especially if wet. I usually pack is a small radio with earbuds as even listening to the static (white noise) can help you sleep, especially as, we all know, every noise you hear in your tent at night is that mad axeman running amok. Oh yes, one thing I like to do when on longer, multiday trips is disperse a bag or two of funsize mars/milky ways about the various pockets and as I go for things I find them and have a wee treat for myself. Always great to see what others pack as everyone has their own ideas and can always get fresh ideas.

    Hi Lilu,
Shame Babet put your plans on hold, maybe when you do go you’ll get some really good weather. I’ve got a tip for you regarding a fuel bottle for your alcohol stove. I use a chilli sauce bottle that has screw nozzle on it, the advantage being that if you’ve fuel left over, just squeeze the bottle, turn it upside down and you can suck up what’s left. I don’t know how to load a jpg of my bottle into TH-cam comments so I’ll leave it on Facebook for you.
    Cheers
    Graham

So nice hearing from you again. Looks like you have everything in order. Was wondering why two stoves? Do you have a puffy jacket you take along especially in the colder months? Stay well and safe. Can't wait for your next adventure.

I have a regatta down jacket yes and the titanium fuel stove is much lighter so I'm hoping to use that wild camping and the other when cong closer to the car maybe...but still trialing the fuel stage tbh 😊

i know what you could do with them handwarmers, the same as what i use them for for winter wild camps put one at the bottom of your sleeping bag and one at the top to keep your bag warm a couple of mins b4 you get in so its nice and warm but you won,t need to do that if you let me cuddle up to you lilu lol 😊maybe if your in the west lancishire area i could show you were i test my stuff about 20 mins away from the house up ashhurst beacon loverly countryside here

At first glance I thought you've really stepped up the hot-tent camping standards with plants, pictures and paint on the walls 😅
The torch you picked is a great little essential high power light. I do always bring a spare of that size in case one refuses to work, especially with the earlier sunsets now.
Nice multimedia screen for the car too. I do not take vehicle when camping myself but many do and having visual entertainment too can be a big comfort in harsh weather.
I always have audio books stored on my phone too plus videos I like etc. The small air pump is excellent. RAB make very warm sleeping bags and it does look great, being down.
    Great video again Lilu 🙂

Good thinking Mark...I was on a trek abroad recently and the guide I was with had cous cous for his meals which he added tinned tuna to. Not sure about the use of tinned stuff, but I'm definitely going to experiment with cous cous - so light and versatile. Unles you just eat plain cous cous, what do you add to it to make it more interesting?

Hiya! Great video...really enjoyed it. Towards the beginning you mention that the upper compartment of your backpack has a J zip but that you usually load / unload from the top because you us a plastic liner bag. Think I got that right but let me know if I'm mistaken. Anyway, could you, in fact, use 2 plastic liners...one when you access from the top and another, lower down, when you access using the J zip? I appreciate, of course, that you wouldn't be able to access things in the bottom liner via the top, etc., so you would have to be very certain of what you packed in each liner. As always, looking forward to the next time. Cheers. Ken

Are the different versions variants on the amount of down in them? Also any guidance on where to purchase these as they aren’t the cheapest! Thank you and keep up the excellent content 🙏
