I think the reason why we didn't have this emotional conclusion between them is because that's not the end of their story. Since Alina finally has shadow powers now. I think Alina's behavior throughout the series was supposed to drive the finale that we had.
I don’t know…I don’t want to have hope lmao either way it was a tragedy they made Alina super cold to him the entire season when in the books she was conflicted
@@paulinutec On the contrary, I found that throughout the season, Alina adopted a behavior similar to Alexander, in the way she spoke, walked, etc. As for his coldness and aggression this season, to me that was very clearly set-up for a Corruption arc, which the ending basically confirmed for me.
Its true if they renew SAB which is very unlikely given their ratings for season 2. And even if its renewed I have this fear of them bringing Mal back for Alina and depowering her like in biiks, to punish her for greed of powers.
GIRLIE YOU ARE GOD'S GIFT TO THE FANDOM! Thank you for this, I HAAAATED the scene in the show it was SO SOULLESS! I hate watching my favourite man ever Aleks die in general...
Aww thank you 🥹♥️♥️ we definitely needed a fix because I can’t even talk about how terrible the show was 💀 the entire season Alina was emotionless to the Darkling all their interactions were not good 😭
Thank you so much for your responce, babe! Absolutely right. I hated how the show directed Jessie / Alina to only show anger and hatred towards Ben / Aleksander, when we KNOW that in the books she loves him and has feelings. And she suffers for him when she sees him like this. :/ WOW, I totally got carried away and wrote you 2 LONG paragraphs below, I totally understand if you don't want to read them or respond, I just have a lot of throughts hahah and your videos inspire me
SIX SECONDS IN AND I HEARD THE VOICEOVERS OVER FROM THE BOOK?? OH I ALREADY KNOW THIS IS GONNA BE A MASTERPIECE HOW ON EARTH WERE YOU ABLE TO MAKE ALINA LOOK SAD?? LIKE, THE SHOTS YOU PICKED THEY KINDA WORKED???? YOU WERE RIGHT THIS DID KILL ME 😭 OMG YOU REALLY DID FIX IT AND WHILE USING WHAT WE GOT FROM THE SHOW
Listen, I hate to resort to taking all shots when she’s looking or is with Mal (and the writers will suffer for it one day😤) but I made her not look like a robot inconvenienced to be there🥹
You offer us the scene as it should have been. Thank you a thousand times, this video is what I was missing. I'm not disappointed by the series, just disturbed by the script choices. Ben Barnes gave what was asked of him, I'm not disappointed with him, he is extraordinary.
Thank you so much🥹🖤 I’m glad people can appreciate this is how that scene should’ve gone. I can honestly say I am disappointed by the series, even more so I hated most of it lol and you’re completely right Ben delivered, Jessie did not. I understand that it was because that’s how it was written and I hate that the writers took any emotion from her. The things she said to Aleksander this season were horrible and hilarious at the same time because they made no sense. Alina saying “look what you’ve become, what you’ve always been” EXCUSE ME??! he wasn’t born corrupted, he was raised that way by the woman Alina makes 100 excuses for 😤🫠 like no logic at all. Or her saying “you never knew sacrifice”. 💀🤭🤣🤣 I can honestly say the only thing the writers managed to do is make me hate show! Alina. Sorry for the rant lol
@@paulinutec I don't hate and still hope season 3 with king of scars catches up on some things. I hope you will offer us more videos with Ben Barnes because he will never disappoint me. Je ne déteste pas et espère encore que la saison 3 avec King of scars rattrape certaines choses. J'espère que tu nous offrira encore des vidéos avec Ben Barnes car lui ne me decevra jamais.
Here is my personal theory for the Leigh Bardugo Alina books - My theory is that Alina has somewhat of a split perconality / split perception of herself. No, I don't mean that she has a mentall illness, I don't mean to make an insensitive comment. It's just that all her life she has seen herself as a regular human and then SUDDENLY she learns that she is Grisha Sun Summoner. And so this is kind of thraumatic for her, I would imagine. It shakes the foundations of her world view. My theory is that in order to cope with this trauma, she sees herself as two people essentialy - the human Alina and the Grisha Alina. And that is why her actions are somewhat confusing and inconsistent throughout the books - sometimes we see the actions of Human Alina, sometimes we see the actions of Grisha Alina and the two are NOT the same. Sometimes she acts as the Human Alina and in order to keep her "human-ness" in her mind, she clings to Mal so strongly. She thinks that if she loses Mal, she will loose everything human that she has known so far in her life, she will loose everything familiar. She is also afraid of her power and afraid of what people do to Grisha, that's why she clings to Mal. Then there is her newly-awakened Grisha Alina Sun Summoner personality. And Grisha Alina still also wants to help Ravka and is patriotic, but Grisha Alina is also interested in power, exploration, leadership AAAAAND Grisha Alina has feelings for the Darkling, feelings that human Alina is scared from. Also human Alina is afraid of Grisha Alina. That is why ALSO when Alina kills Aleks, she not only kills (and in this way helps) her lover, but in her mind she ALSO helps herself, it's like she keeps her Grisha self at bay / keeps her contained / far away, hidden and forbidden. Like her love for Aleks.
I hated how the show directed Jessie / Alina to only show anger and hatred towards Ben / Aleksander. We know that Jessie Mei Li can act well, we saw it in Season 1 and their Darklina connection. SUCH A LOSSSSSSS. But as one other commenter on this video said - I hope we get Season 3 and this is not the end of the story and THAT is why we got such a DRASTICALLY DIFFERENT death end scene. Because in the Book Alina kills Aleks as a mercy, because she loves him and she sees that he suffers in this life and that he can't die on his own and that if other people find him, they will only torture him. She on the other hand will show him mercy and kindness and love. That's how I interpret the book in order to KEEP MY SANITY LOL I'm a HUUUGE Darkling fan. Here in the show.... well the place was OVERCROWDED LMAO everybody and their mama was there on Aleksander's funeral hahah I was like what's going on.?? XD Whereas in the book it was just Alina and the Darkling and it was intimate and like two lovers who are parting. Like you so well portray in your video. And because the show itself is so overcrowded NONE of the stories have space to freaking BREATHE. LIKE THE CROWS for example deserve SO. MUCHHHH. MORE! Their scenes felt like they were pushed in the show because they have to be there and the Crooked Kingdom material wasn't hitting as hard as it should be hitting. And AS A RESULT Alina's story SUFFERED as well, because it had no space and THEY FREAKING CUT SIEGE AND STORM a.k.a. the best Darklina connections. Like you said in your comment, the Darklina scenes were BARELY THERE and they were cold and soulless. Everything was written to benefit Mal. (No hate to Archie Renaux I REALLY like him and his work.) In conclusion, I HOPE for Season 3 and a RETURN of Ben Barnes as the Darkling. And I hope for a separate Crows show, because a girl can dream. Thank you for your fantastic videos!
