Just stunned at Linda saying she stopped entering shows so others could win ribbons. Pure class

This was an excellent overview. Personally I enjoy the Judges comments. If they would note an area that needed improvement I made sure I never received that comment again. I strived to only get positive comments and be one of the top 3 winners. And on the few occasions when I was able to speak to a judge she gave me a bunch of pointers and clues on how to win a ribbon.
I have won a ribbon on every quilt I have ever entered because of listening and applying their comments with a positive attitude. Plus a few tricks up my sleeve that I've learned over the years. Anybody can win a ribbon if they strive for it. Not all quilts you make have to be blue ribbon beauties. You still need to enjoy the process.

I love Linda's videos. She helped me overcome my fear of turning on the long arm machine. I don't have a computer on my long-arm and I have not learned to use pantos, so I draw, draw, draw and then I quilt it free-motion. Thank you for sharing, Linda!!

Great show guys! I’m going through the NACQJ certification process now and Linda’s always full of excellent information! Shows are a great opportunity to share and inspire other quilters! Hope to see you soon on a trip through TX!! Hugs my sweet friends!

What if your quilt was super clean when you entered it and then I get negatively judged as they laid one with pet hair on top of mine? I was told to next time enter a clean quilt. Not nice!!

So sad I missed the live. Wonderful and informative! However some questions: do you loose marks if the thread color changes in the backing? Are there deductions if the borders are pieced rather than continuous, and must they be mitred? Also, can the quilt be washed before the entry?

Do binding corners need to be mitred?

Why don’t shows give ribbons to pieces and quilter-if done by two people?

Hmmm, I have seen a judge discount the binding corners for not being stitched closed.

Its a really nice batting that was designed for Linda's show quilts and is now sold and used for all quilts. Here is the link to it. www.longarmsupplies.net/products/hobbs-lindas-choice-100-bleached-cotton-108-wide-batting-roll
