Its not "unlucky" they pick the same losing draft FOUR TIMES IN A ROW. Its not unlucky to toss their winning position over crazy baron throws CONSTANTLY. Its not "unlucky" they leave open known power picks for enemy laners and ego into it. Its not "unlucky" putting BB and yike on champions they have almost no international success on and hoping it works (BB has a ZERO PERCENT WINRATE on Jax internationally). It IS unlucky they kept deciding to put caps on zero mobility champions that have no sidelane pressure; i mean lord knows thats never been a reliable source of pressure for the team. The frustrating part; if they came in with clear heads, we do live in a world they are capable of winning the whole thing. Its maddening watching the same mistakes over and over for years. They keep trying to "match" instead of playing their own strengths. Thats why they lose... every time.

This gives a nice insight on the calls made during the Baron fight vs BLG game 3. From the outside it looked like Yike was uncoordinated on his call to go on Rumble but they were all on the same page actually. Same thing happened on the bot fight where they see Rell mid and they try to force with Ryze Ult. It's interesting to see that there is not one single person responsible for the wins or faults, it was all a team effort, even if it was mistaken or wasn't executed properly.
I think they just can finish Nash there. But it was weird to me why Hans and BB were so focused to turn before finishing Nash.. seems a bit like they underestimated the dmg of Rumble R and Ezreal R which kind of turned the fight. The bot play was actually very good and the call from Hand to turn on the TP was great. They even get a 1 for 1 trade but Caps maybe needs to flash the Skarner r for it to win this fight.. I think he lives when he flash before
MikyX just doesn't have ulti for the all fight... And I think he never communicated that to the team... His ultimate his super important for Yike to go in. For sure he was expecting it when went for it. At least is my reading about it.
It is about solo skill, but also team cooperation and i think G2 lacks in the second part, comms are just wierd, slowly/back, half time used "i think" "maybe", wrong calls on flashes. But G2 lost this on draft, Picking ryze into Rumble was the biggest troll in this series. LCK/LPL was and will be miles ahead.
My favorite roster so far in G2. Sad to say that they did not perform well internationaly. Bounce back stronger Kings! And good luck to MikyX and Yike with another team. If Caps my GOAT lift a WORLDS Trophy someday, it will be so fcking good and gonna be sad as well.

BLG game they think Rumble has ult, Caps and Hans are both about to get W Q or Q W by Rell into a Rumble ult on top. There is no world where you can finish baron as soon as Rumble shows up with the Rell.

Havina a good grasp of the meta is so important for worlds. i know its a loot of hopium but i truly believe g2 didnt yet have a great understanding of the meta yet at swiss stage. Think this meta couldve suited g2 very well if they knew earlier that they could have more freedom w picks. Like ori noc combo is good but idk it felt kinda int vs better teams.
@@trhitrhitg yeah its a coaching issue. its not like Hans caps and BB did "enough" and the rest didn't. they all didn't do enough together. and the person in charge of all of them is the coach. they can the capacity to win these games and Dylan got in the way or let them get in their own way instead of leading them and motivating them to play their best. last G2 worlds success was 2020 when they made Semis. Dylan joined in 2021.
as painfull it is im happy we have more of the losing plays in this vids. a year ago this would have been a way shorter vid with only the stuff that went well
If Hans didn't get confused with the Rend situation (cause of the two Zhonias in the play) ezreal wouldn't have been able to get two kills there and G2 would have had a chance to take baron off of a reset. But he got confused and walked back and forth, which let him get slowed by rumble and then he panicked flash. When you get confused like that you stop thinking about the play at hand. Such an unfortunate play, went from a winning position to dead lost in the blink of an eye. They deserved more this worlds.
I dont know why you would ever consider replacing Yike. A young prospect who in his second year, is easily top 2 in the league. I dont really understand what Skewmond is going to do that Yike cant? Give Yike a couple more years and he can develop into one of the best in the world. I will always support G2 and our players, new and old. But this just doesnt make sense.
Maybe this is what Yike needs to develop.. I loved Yike and he seemed to have great ideas sometimes.. but I did not remember a game in this worlds where he was the difference maker. Look at the eastern junglers.. they look soo good on casual picks.. because they have the kind of aura.. I won’t say Yike is bad, he needs to develop and a new team which high hopes could be something he needs. And for G2 it is clear that something has to be changed.. 2 years no Knock-out stage in Worlds is not what we expect them to do..
Skewmond better be a mechanical god for this replacement to be worth it. I think Yike way of communicating is very good and unless Skewmond can match this, I think this will be a downgrade.

We only saw G2 do that a couple of times this worlds and thats on the coach because its his job to make sure all the players are on the same page. If I was their coach and I heard the words "nocturne orianna" vs BLG I would've smacked the back of their heads. We needed more Yasuo, more Sylas, more Rakan, more Lilia, more PYKE. things that G2 do better than anyone else.

Miky said they used this comp a lot in scrims and mentioned he wish they tried more but given what they were doing this is what they wanted. You can't always draft sylas yasuo every game on whatever side you want. Try and think a bit more logically and critically if you're seriously trying to contest the analysis of one of the games best coaches. They're obviously not perfect but choking is hardly a coach's fault. These are split second high pressure decisions that could have played out differently on any other day.

This is why we are behind in teamfight vs KR/CH. There is many room of improvement. Clear the vocal, be more precise and stop spam the info. And my god, there is no clear leader and decision making isn't so good. But still close games vs top team and so sad :( GL for the future. (BB you are a monster)
GG to G2. This version had its shortcomings, but damn it put on a good show. Now to what the new G2 will offer and why. I really wanna have a discussion with all of you so comment down below. G2 too will be replacing mikyx, yike and han sama. Objectively, I can see why they would take out their bot lane. Mikyx is without a doubt a great support, but now many teams to prefer to have more defensive and protecting supports rather than engage supports. Labrov who will be Mikys replacement, is at least a good change. But with this change also comes that G2 lose their agency in the mid-support mix. Yike is someone who I was hoping G2 wouldn't replace, as I believe that his selfish playstyles, and carrying types of play meld well with the G2 playstyle. The only reason why I can see them choosing another jungler over Yike, is because they are planning to change their playstyles. I think G2 now understand that yes being creative has its perks, but now they are being gapped by pure and utter mechanical skill of the eastern players. Brokenblade and Caps, for me at least, are equal if not better than most of the eastern laners in their respective position, therefore I can see why they will stay. I dont know G2's pick of jng, Skewmond. I havent heard of him or know of his capability, but I just hope that he can go well with G2. Lastly Hans Sama. Believe it or not, I liked hans sama, especially when he played aggresively. Plus he had miky as an aggressive support to always go with him. But when it came to playing the long game (and yes he has been good on some occassions) he hasnt been consistent in getting his team to the finish line. G2's pick for adc is another rookie prodigy (Allegedly) Caliste from BDS. Prodigies dont get me wrong are good for a team, for example Caps being a rookie prodigy himself. But if they have too much expectations on them, they might succomb to the pressure. In conclusion, I hope whatever new iteration of G2 may be is good. And I want them to win internationally. Especially Caps. Honestly if G2 were to ditch the LEC and start playing in the LCK, I wouldnt even be mad. What you guys think?

I'm a KC fan but I'm rly sad for this roster. Unlucky draw + some little mistakes but on BO5 Im pretty sure they could have improve. Very sad. I'm also surprised to see the impact of BB in shotcalling and tbh I'm a bit scared with Yike jg in Kcorp but I'll trust him 100% and wish the best for all these players.
I like bb and caps, hans needs to step the game up the playz lack confidence compared to eastern counterparts while bb played the best players in his role he played confidently while other players in the team did not. I also think caps should play to his standards because most of the matches the difference-maker effect was not there for him. I hope the new players bring more confidence to the team as only need for us is seems like this currently. Wish you best of lucks in the next events.

Except the real reason fly got to knockouts, was them having to fight TL while G2 got BLG.. No offense to Fly at all though, They were amazing and surprised everyone with their fierce gigachad battles they showed against GENG. But it kinda is the truth lol. For the end results it doesnt matter in the end tho, all LCS and LEC teams didnt look ready to win worlds this year imo. But it was damn good to see the west put up these fierce fights already and am sure they will all get back stronger next year to hopefully get in the mix with the LPL vs LCK stories which r getting old
I love this roster and all the players but i do agree with swopping some players out. Players come together to find their style and chemistry that aligns with one another which makes the team. It’s not that they are bad, in fact they are really good but the combo of this roster isnt working out the way it needs to for the Worlds dream.
Look I'm gonna be blunt here, there is no such thing as bad draw, bad luck, no. I will not say GG next year, or you guys did great, no. You guys failed to perform two years in a row and that's the fact. For someone in your caliber failing to reach top 8 should be unacceptable. I don't know if roster change is needed, I'll leave it to your management, but you are not competitive because you have no competition. You feel great for dominating an easy league in LEC. The teams in LEC are declining so low you can even have a bad day and win the competition. You lack tenacity. You don't have enough good opponent back in Europe so you can't stand against LCK and LPL. Stop dreaming about winning Worlds, face the reality and prepare for next year properly. Look at FLY series against GenG. That should be your thing. Playing G2 style in G2 comp, bring down chaos and no holding back. I have hope that one day any western team will break the eastern streak at Worlds, try to be the one.
Nah. BB is a great player, but he is Hyper-Aggressive and calls flip plays. Either way, SUPP JG and ADC need 3 more people like him who are on the same page (Hyper agro). A lot of times, he says they are strong and baits his team into fights where they hard lose. Just so tough to watch G2 not win.
It seems like the game losing calls were BB's. I assume he is also the reason why they won so much, his calls probably are correct in most situations but when it comes to tight moments it seems like he loses his composure a bit, I hope next year he will work on that. Considering how much he already grew as a player in these two years, I have no doubt he will be able to make it happen.
Man, the guy makes practically ALL the main calls for the team now - which is great for unison, but as with all things, we can't ALWAYS make the right call. I feel like what you, and i see this sentiment a lot right now - so you and a lot of other people are asking here, is for BB to ascend to an inhuman level of perfection. No, BB's calls for the most part is correct, whether or not he and the team can pull them off is however, not always the case. The few calls that were bad are just a margin of error, there were a couple of game deciding plays he called that went bad, but that's not all on him just because he made the call. And for the record, the baron play was the right call. The whole team just flunked it. They had numbers advantage, a good ganking angle - they just couldnt kill the targets fast enough because BLG played it out well. That shouldn't happen, but it did. And it was not the call's fault, it was the players. Basically, sometimes you make the right call but the wrong play! I have nothing but respect for caps and BB this year, they played out of their minds so it makes sense their position on the team is cemented for now. It's sad to see miky gone again, and yike definitely has potential - but they did show inconsistent performance overall. I think Hans still has too much to work on as well, so I wouldn't be surprised if he was swapped as well but it seems like he'll stay. I really liked this roster, but the overall performance is too inconsistent when it matters.

I understand replacing Yike with a promising rookie, but cutting Mikyx for Labrov just feels like a very weird downgrade (especially because Miky is way more known for unconventional counterpicks than Labrov, which is more or less G2's biggest strength). I really hope either GiantX, Fnatic, Rogue or SK (teams that as of now don't have a confirmed/rumored support) take Miky. Him retiring or going to another League would be pretty sad for the LEC.
That roster's worse result is playing finals at worlds tho. With canna they played semi finals too in 2021. G2 couldn't get out of swiss 2 years in a row. It is not same

BLG game they think Rumble has ult, Caps and Hans are both about to get W Q or Q W by Rell into a Rumble ult on top. There is no world where you can finish baron as soon as Rumble shows up with the Rell.

It's very sad to see Miky and Yike go but I've also seen Miky make a lot more positioning mistakes as of recently so I am hoping and coping that the new Supp will bring something good to the table.

Havina a good grasp of the meta is so important for worlds. i know its a loot of hopium but i truly believe g2 didnt yet have a great understanding of the meta yet at swiss stage. Think this meta couldve suited g2 very well if they knew earlier that they could have more freedom w picks. Like ori noc combo is good but idk it felt kinda int vs better teams.
Don’t know where this roster ends up next year. But still thanks for everyone working so hard on G2 staff, players and coaches.

@@trhitrhitg yeah its a coaching issue. its not like Hans caps and BB did "enough" and the rest didn't. they all didn't do enough together. and the person in charge of all of them is the coach. they can the capacity to win these games and Dylan got in the way or let them get in their own way instead of leading them and motivating them to play their best. last G2 worlds success was 2020 when they made Semis. Dylan joined in 2021.

as painfull it is im happy we have more of the losing plays in this vids. a year ago this would have been a way shorter vid with only the stuff that went well
If Hans didn't get confused with the Rend situation (cause of the two Zhonias in the play) ezreal wouldn't have been able to get two kills there and G2 would have had a chance to take baron off of a reset. But he got confused and walked back and forth, which let him get slowed by rumble and then he panicked flash. When you get confused like that you stop thinking about the play at hand. Such an unfortunate play, went from a winning position to dead lost in the blink of an eye. They deserved more this worlds.
I dont know why you would ever consider replacing Yike. A young prospect who in his second year, is easily top 2 in the league. I dont really understand what Skewmond is going to do that Yike cant? Give Yike a couple more years and he can develop into one of the best in the world. I will always support G2 and our players, new and old. But this just doesnt make sense.

Maybe its time to step down and become and analyst and find a coach that can lead and motivate the boys when push comes to shove instead of just peaking at EU.

@@Cobalt_11 they know what they are doing but it keeps happening that they choke when it matters most. ofc they are insanely good but what does it matter if you don't go on stage and play at your peak. the approach we should've seen from G2 is that of FLY when they faced GenG. they played their own game comfortably and with confidence. We only saw G2 do that a couple of times this worlds and thats on the coach because its his job to make sure all the players are on the same page. If I was their coach and I heard the words "nocturne orianna" vs BLG I would've smacked the back of their heads. We needed more Yasuo, more Sylas, more Rakan, more Lilia, more PYKE. things that G2 do better than anyone else.

Miky said they used this comp a lot in scrims and mentioned he wish they tried more but given what they were doing this is what they wanted. You can't always draft sylas yasuo every game on whatever side you want. Try and think a bit more logically and critically if you're seriously trying to contest the analysis of one of the games best coaches. They're obviously not perfect but choking is hardly a coach's fault. These are split second high pressure decisions that could have played out differently on any other day.
No wonder Mikyx and Yike is being replaced, the baron steal by Oner could have been prevented.

Wonder what happened in scrims/behind the scenes for them to go so hard for nocturn + orianna. If they had different/better(?) drafts I think they could have gotten scored some more wins.
This is why we are behind in teamfight vs KR/CH. There is many room of improvement. Clear the vocal, be more precise and stop spam the info. And my god, there is no clear leader and decision making isn't so good. But still close games vs top team and so sad :( GL for the future. (BB you are a monster)

Now to what the new G2 will offer and why. I really wanna have a discussion with all of you so comment down below.
G2 too will be replacing mikyx, yike and han sama.
Objectively, I can see why they would take out their bot lane. Mikyx is without a doubt a great support, but now many teams to prefer to have more defensive and protecting supports rather than engage supports. Labrov who will be Mikys replacement, is at least a good change. But with this change also comes that G2 lose their agency in the mid-support mix.
Yike is someone who I was hoping G2 wouldn't replace, as I believe that his selfish playstyles, and carrying types of play meld well with the G2 playstyle. The only reason why I can see them choosing another jungler over Yike, is because they are planning to change their playstyles. I think G2 now understand that yes being creative has its perks, but now they are being gapped by pure and utter mechanical skill of the eastern players. Brokenblade and Caps, for me at least, are equal if not better than most of the eastern laners in their respective position, therefore I can see why they will stay. I dont know G2's pick of jng, Skewmond. I havent heard of him or know of his capability, but I just hope that he can go well with G2.
Lastly Hans Sama. Believe it or not, I liked hans sama, especially when he played aggresively. Plus he had miky as an aggressive support to always go with him. But when it came to playing the long game (and yes he has been good on some occassions) he hasnt been consistent in getting his team to the finish line. G2's pick for adc is another rookie prodigy (Allegedly) Caliste from BDS. Prodigies dont get me wrong are good for a team, for example Caps being a rookie prodigy himself. But if they have too much expectations on them, they might succomb to the pressure.
In conclusion, I hope whatever new iteration of G2 may be is good. And I want them to win internationally. Especially Caps. Honestly if G2 were to ditch the LEC and start playing in the LCK, I wouldnt even be mad. What you guys think?

I'm a KC fan but I'm rly sad for this roster.
Unlucky draw + some little mistakes but on BO5 Im pretty sure they could have improve. Very sad.
I'm also surprised to see the impact of BB in shotcalling and tbh I'm a bit scared with Yike jg in Kcorp but I'll trust him 100% and wish the best for all these players.
I like bb and caps, hans needs to step the game up the playz lack confidence compared to eastern counterparts while bb played the best players in his role he played confidently while other players in the team did not. I also think caps should play to his standards because most of the matches the difference-maker effect was not there for him. I hope the new players bring more confidence to the team as only need for us is seems like this currently. Wish you best of lucks in the next events.

Except the real reason fly got to knockouts, was them having to fight TL while G2 got BLG.. No offense to Fly at all though, They were amazing and surprised everyone with their fierce gigachad battles they showed against GENG. But it kinda is the truth lol. For the end results it doesnt matter in the end tho, all LCS and LEC teams didnt look ready to win worlds this year imo. But it was damn good to see the west put up these fierce fights already and am sure they will all get back stronger next year to hopefully get in the mix with the LPL vs LCK stories which r getting old

I love this roster and all the players but i do agree with swopping some players out. Players come together to find their style and chemistry that aligns with one another which makes the team. It’s not that they are bad, in fact they are really good but the combo of this roster isnt working out the way it needs to for the Worlds dream.

Look I'm gonna be blunt here, there is no such thing as bad draw, bad luck, no. I will not say GG next year, or you guys did great, no. You guys failed to perform two years in a row and that's the fact. For someone in your caliber failing to reach top 8 should be unacceptable. I don't know if roster change is needed, I'll leave it to your management, but you are not competitive because you have no competition. You feel great for dominating an easy league in LEC. The teams in LEC are declining so low you can even have a bad day and win the competition. You lack tenacity. You don't have enough good opponent back in Europe so you can't stand against LCK and LPL. Stop dreaming about winning Worlds, face the reality and prepare for next year properly.
Look at FLY series against GenG. That should be your thing. Playing G2 style in G2 comp, bring down chaos and no holding back. I have hope that one day any western team will break the eastern streak at Worlds, try to be the one.

Nah. BB is a great player, but he is Hyper-Aggressive and calls flip plays. Either way, SUPP JG and ADC need 3 more people like him who are on the same page (Hyper agro). A lot of times, he says they are strong and baits his team into fights where they hard lose. Just so tough to watch G2 not win.

It seems like the game losing calls were BB's. I assume he is also the reason why they won so much, his calls probably are correct in most situations but when it comes to tight moments it seems like he loses his composure a bit, I hope next year he will work on that. Considering how much he already grew as a player in these two years, I have no doubt he will be able to make it happen.
Man, the guy makes practically ALL the main calls for the team now - which is great for unison, but as with all things, we can't ALWAYS make the right call.
I feel like what you, and i see this sentiment a lot right now - so you and a lot of other people are asking here, is for BB to ascend to an inhuman level of perfection. No, BB's calls for the most part is correct, whether or not he and the team can pull them off is however, not always the case.
The few calls that were bad are just a margin of error, there were a couple of game deciding plays he called that went bad, but that's not all on him just because he made the call.
And for the record, the baron play was the right call. The whole team just flunked it. They had numbers advantage, a good ganking angle - they just couldnt kill the targets fast enough because BLG played it out well. That shouldn't happen, but it did. And it was not the call's fault, it was the players.
Basically, sometimes you make the right call but the wrong play! I have nothing but respect for caps and BB this year, they played out of their minds so it makes sense their position on the team is cemented for now.
It's sad to see miky gone again, and yike definitely has potential - but they did show inconsistent performance overall. I think Hans still has too much to work on as well, so I wouldn't be surprised if he was swapped as well but it seems like he'll stay. I really liked this roster, but the overall performance is too inconsistent when it matters.

I understand replacing Yike with a promising rookie, but cutting Mikyx for Labrov just feels like a very weird downgrade (especially because Miky is way more known for unconventional counterpicks than Labrov, which is more or less G2's biggest strength). I really hope either GiantX, Fnatic, Rogue or SK (teams that as of now don't have a confirmed/rumored support) take Miky. Him retiring or going to another League would be pretty sad for the LEC.
