My very first calculator was the 8R when I was 10 years old. A few years later, I took it to pieces and de-capped the CPU which I took to school to show my friends and use the lab microscopes to look at the circuitry! I now have a collection of them for nostalgia: 8R 10R 18R 14RD 24RD-II.
I bought the RI-63R for physics class in '75 and loved it. It was much faster than my slide rule! I considered the TI-30 that most of my friends had, but liked the rocker keys and cleaner layout. I still have it, but unfortunately it no longer works. Nice presentation

My first calculator was a Rockwell 8R, bought in late 1975.
