What is this about 25 foot case swather? Ive spent many hours cutting barley for silage with them. But i Always found a way to go back and forth rather then round and round if you know what i mean. Was a smooth running swather.
Mark Benson , My best guess is if it is being swathed the field has too much green matter in it to harvest. Unless a crop is being baled of forage chopped that is the only reason to swath a crop.
If there is only 5% or less green material and the rest of the crop is ready then it’s faster to windrow it. There are times when you spray a field, wildlife trample it, or crops lodge, you can fracture a stem and it is rebounds but is less mature. Leaving it in the field for the extra weeks for maturity can cause the rest of the crop to become over dry, lighter and can fracture during harvest. It’s best to harvest at optimal moisture for the average of the crop since it is sold by weight. אורי פלסי
Get a lot of uneven crop growth on the prairies. The low spots will be grass green and the high spots will be long ripened. Swathing evens out the crop development. Gets you taking off crop way sooner than leaving it stand or desiccating. Swathing uses next to no fuel and the combine burns less fuel than trying to straight cut. And with many importing countries not wanting a crop to be desiccated, you’ll be seeing a lot more of this. On the prairies anyway.
Sorry for the late comment we swath lots of our wheat because price per acer is decreased rather then spraying it, that and if we swath it we can use it for seed.
How much power would a 30ft pull type swather need ?
Están buenas esas curvas cerradas que hace, sobre todo para la cosechadora con recolector. Ese tipo q va arriba del tractor jamás cosechó

What would be the reason for swathing a wheat crop rather than just combining it in this case?

@@oakvillefarmer so why not just wait longer for it to dry standing and then the combine? It seems extra work and some of the wheat will be lost.

Where is the wheat cereal collected?
In this part of the harvest this is only sathing the wheat to dry it out, in about 8 to 14 days it will be ready to harvest
