The Cinema of South India is used to refer collectively the four distinct film industries of Southern region of India - Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada film industries - as a single entity. They are based in Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, and Bangalore respectively

Sandalwood - Kannada cinema, also known as Sandalwood, Kannada Film Industry or Chandanavana, is the segment of Indian cinema dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Kannada language widely spoken in the state of Karnataka.The 1934 film Sati Sulochana directed by Y. V. Rao was the first talkie film in the Kannada language. It was also the first film starring Subbaiah Naidu and Tripuramba, and was the first motion picture screened in the erstwhile Mysore Kingdom.The film was produced by Chamanlal Doongaji, who in 1932 founded South India Movietone in Bangalore.

I'm a die-hard fan of kamal the actor , director and script director , but u guys doesn't really deserve him , Tamil audience always tend to choose masala movies over his classics', just imagine movies like ambe shivam , hey ram , alandavan , guna was not commercially hit , and movies his Arunachalam is box office hit , now also masala films of Vijay and all r accepted wider than classics .... And apart from Kamal sir the piller , there are only few actors that are god Lev.... And u have wonderful songs , having a huge love towards mastero, ARR and MSV for making a major part.... and our Industry is not only about big M.... Watch movies of thilakan sir , a kind of actor Tamil lacks....
Though we watch commercial and massala movies from other industries, but we don't entertain these kind of movies in Malayalam industries , it had kept it's dignity of realism and good story line , we audience don't demand masala movies that's why movies like madhuraraja and etc are flop , Malayalam industry is the Korean industry of India .
