I saw Eric give a talk about this at GDC a few years ago. At the end, he received a standing ovation for around 2 minutes and he was completely blown away by the response. A really humble, extremely talented and absolutely genuine person.

I played this game in 1993, when I was 14. Éric had the vision, the proper skills and tools to make this game from an idea. I hope he had made lot of money.

I'm 43. I've just bought this game for PS4. My kids flipped on it! I just loved when I first played on my 386 PC, a lot of years ago. One of the best ever games. And now, I've fount this... waaaay ahead of it's time.
1-Person Creator "Team" in the early 90's vs today's multi-million dollar Studios...
To be fair, a "multi dollar studio" of today could make this game in a single day.

One of the best games ever made and my first sci fi experience in anything. This really created a sense of a new world with no talking at all. It had both intrigue and dread at the same time. This game is flawless
I remember seeing this and playing it for the first time in 1992 or 93 I believe and I instantly said to myself, "this game has the best grapghics i've ever seen" !! Ahead of its time for sure.

Another World/Out Of This World and Flashback were 2 Masterpieces, way, way ahead of their respected times. I didn't discover them until their home console ports on the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis back in the day but they have always been games that I still play, even to this very day, at 44 years old. Truly remarkable that they were able to get those 2 games to even run on a cartridge based system in the first place. I still prefer the ports made for the Sega CD though, and that also owes a shout-out to Heart Of The Alien as well, another great game, and sequel to Another World/Out Of This World. Great times back then, a time that I really wish I could go back to and relive all over again.
I was always imagined the possibility of this game becoming a Movie, with soundtrack made by Com Truise 😮

According to Éric Chahi the pistol's idea was from Star wars but in my opinion this pistol is very similar to the NES lightgun. Coincidence?

Amazing game, it was really impressive on Sega Mega Drive/Genesis, but I totally enjoyed a more complete version on Panasonic 3Do. That's where the game shined for me.

Fun fact for people don’t know : we all know this game name another world in Europe market but come to America it change to Out of this world because that time have TV series name Another world and developers scare gamer think the game based on the movie with make selling of the game will fall so that why they change the name when it enter to the US market.
