Rori Rory Because males play a vital role in whether or not their cubs survive to adulthood. Roaming male lions will kill any cubs that are not their own. Without a strong pride male to ward off these threats, the cubs will have little chance of survival. That is the male lion’s entire purpose in a pride, after all.
