Loved watching you build your pen! I've really thought abt raising Quail for the last yr. Know alot of an air bird hunters. I just sat the meat & eggs. Those little eggs. I have no idea where to start. I do have the area though, and Had builders & a cabinet maker in my immediate family. So I know alot abt building & tools. 😁 Will continue to watch your progress.
Nice 👍 just think on that quails can be pretty fast and often fly right up when scared, so maybe see if you can close them in in one half while you're fixing in the other cause of the lid.

We appreciate it! 😂 Our neighbor doesn’t even realize the great service he provides. Not to mention it scares off deer so they don’t eat the garden!
Have you seen where people have switched from shavings to sand as flooring? Sand seems to have many benefits plus quail loves dust bathing in it.

How many quail did you end up fitting in there?

Forgot to write. Lovely with real floor for them and not the netting as a floor. ❤️
How is the cleaning with a solid floor??
Not bad at all. We just use a sturdy dust pan.
Should have used hardware cloth instead of plywood. Not going to be fun to clean after awhile.
Had thought about that, but honestly it's not hard to clean. We just scoop out the shavings with a dust pan and chuck them in the compost pile.
I wouldn’t want to clean the quail poop out of that thing. They poop more then they eat.
😂 That’s What I thought at first too but it’s actually pretty easy to scoop out the shavings.
