I would rename this mass as Mass for Organ accompanied by voices / choir...I think the organ would have woke up the grannies and the church-goers of the period. Its noteworthy that this performer /composer lived and created world of french influenced music in the period between the post french Napoleonic wars and thus post french revolutionary period and the WW1. What's more witnessed the introduction of electricity!! And surely must have been hearing news of the Congress of Vienna and perhaps of the Cecil Rhodes and the formation of the "new" post British Empire period. What a period to have lived in, if only they had internet in those days!!! but then there might not have been this colorful. dynamic music...I often think that generally the biographies of composers tend to omit the historical context of their life periods, contexts that tend to influence if not make the composer (Handel as prime example or Mozart and the Islamic / Turkish invasions or Even papa Bach having issues with islamic conquests etc.). Thank you for uploading this awesome and very thought provoking piece that just I had to listen to several times!.
