Early on, Soul Train stood out for encouraging artists to play live renditions of their hits; Barry White’s 1975 appearance halted this practice, however. To accommodate his Love Unlimited Orchestra, the entire Soul Train set had to be altered to fit all 40 musicians. After that, certain artists such as Luther Vandross may have elected to sing to a prerecorded backing track, but most mimed their performances.
Actually there were still live performances after Barry White. War and Average White Band both did full live performances the year after Barry’s performance. Luther wasn’t the only one that did live vocals after the 70’s. Patti did it also Mariah did live vocals on her appearance
He sounds so shrill. I'm convinced people just give Glenn a past. Because of his religious conviction and awesome good looks. Best falsetto rendition ever? People with unbiased opinions are laughing at that one.
The Temptations did 2 albums at Atlantic Records Here to Tempt you and Bare Back which some did not like those albums because some people only listen to the hit song on those albums which was In A Lifetime Ever Ready Love and Bare Back I liked both albums cause they were the Tempin Temptations!!!!!!!!!!
Eddie was horse due to rehearsals for the reunion and tour in 1982. This was confirmed in an interview with Leonard. Indeed he could no longer hit the high notes as in his earlier days before lung cancer. But he still had that heavenly tenor and a low-falsetto. Don`t believe me, listen to the album he made with David Ruffin five years later in 1987. No way he lost his voice in 1982 and got it back in 1987.

Really? I don't remember that song, album or Glenn Richard as a Temptation at all. Then of course I remember the golden age of the Temptation with David and Eddie. After that I think the last Temptation album I remember was "A Song For You" which had "Living In A Glass House" on it, I think.
@@johnomalley7211 You are correct. However, I wasn't making the claim that Damon was on this album, I was correcting @sisterluv3556. She indicated the Temptation singer as Glenn 'Richard". I was correcting her in that the real name was Glenn Leonard. But the falsetto singer on this album was Damon Harris, his last with the Temptations.
"I'm On Fire (Body Song)" I was able to watch them perform the song on a Dinah Shore daytime show back in 1977. Therefore, a visual performance is out there. Unfortunately, no Gordy 45 was released. I blame unwilling executives at Motown for such a tragedy of neglect. Yes, I still consider that and several other songs of that album to be 45 rpm worthy!

Dennis once said what set Eddie apart was he would put those little Curly Q's at the end of his notes. Damon didn't necessarily do that but in my eyes he was still a great tenor and the closest to Eddie "I've" never heard. If you listen to *_Too Busy Thinking About My Baby_* and *_I've Been Good to You_* when he was with *_The Young Vandals_* he sounds "almost" exactly like Eddie. You can tell he doesn't necessarily do (not that he couldn't) the curly q's though but I loved both of Damon's renditions. I first saw Damon at the Michigan State Fair on Woodward Avenue around 1971. The thing I remember was that Dennis was beaming. Seems he was constantly pointing at or saying something good about Damon. I also recall one of my classmates saying he like Damon but was acting a little too much like Eddie. Had the part in his hair and moving just like, well almost, like Eddie. And let me tell, you Dennis was beaming. He was constantly either pointing at Damon or saying how good he "is." I m o Damon should have been on the reunion tour. It is said that # 7 is a sign of completeness. They would have been completed with Damon for that moment. Unfortunately Louis Price wasn't there either because, I believe, during his time with The Temps they really didn't have any hits.
