  • Halal carts returned to the streets of Philadelphia in full force this fall, but as winter approaches, many owners and workers are still struggling.
Vendors who run the tiny mobile kitchens are mostly thrilled to be serving customers again, they told Billy Penn. With many downtown offices still empty and a squeezed supply chain hiking prices, rebounding from the pandemic has not been easy.

"pandemic affected". The pandemic didn't affect anything, the actions of politicians and bureaucracts did.

“Sam” is probably a pseudonym for Osama!

@@adam100a8 Maybe 🤔, but it’s common among Muslim-Americans who have the name Osama to abbreviate their name to “Sam” or “Sammy” in order to avoid public scrutiny 🧐.

@@faizet2 I’ve only ever met 1 osama and I live in detroit near the highest concentration of Arabs in 1 city in America it’s called Dearborn. It’s an extremely rare name even for Arabs I’m Iraqi

@@adam100a8 I know of Dearborn, MI. Osama or Usama/Usamah is still a fairly common name in Egypt 🇪🇬, Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦, Pakistan 🇵🇰 etc…
The 1 person you know who’s name is Osama call himself “Sam” or “Sammy” or another pseudonym in public in order to avoid ridicule?
You said you’re Iraqi, have you heard of any other Iraqis with the forename Saddam?
I know of El Cajon, CA also colloquially known as “Baghdad on the Border” for the highest concentration of Iraqi-Americans in the U.S. Most Arab-Americans are Orthodox Christians. Not many Americans know this.
Do you know of the Iraqi boy Ali Abbas who had both his arms amputated when he lost both his arms & his family when his home was hit by a U.S. bomb in Baghdad during the Iraq war in 2003? He sought asylum in the U.K., married his childhood sweetheart & has a baby son now, knowing he’ll never be able to hold him. Ali Abbas was the face of the Iraq 🇮🇶 war back in the noughties.

As a restaurant manager they are correct. Chicken doubled in price this last year. A box of large chicken wings went for $80 in 2020....after the pandemic it gradually went up $150.
      No BS mister
