I was searching for a station to listen to, and mind blown, there was that familiar voice! Sure enough, it was Sgt Fury! Gotta love that very sexy voice.
The man handles himself well in a rough situation. 👏 I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the Greaseman on 95.5 KLOS FM Los Angeles during the short time that he was here. Unfortunately, the West Coast didn't appreciate his exaggerated intellectual humor. Nevertheless, I was able to record a few shows for my own personal enjoyment. When I first heard the Greaseman in Washington D.C. I thought it was pirate radio. The first bit I heard him do was the Clint Eastwood, well punk, did I make you squeal 5 times or was it 6? I thought no way would the FCC allow this.
I'm a West Virginian who lived in the D.C. area '85-'91' & The Grease was the best part of it all, except for the great times in USAF. My city gal left D.C. in '93 & I tuned in the Grease whenever I got within DC101's range until...Grease made a comment about race that turned me off, & also turned the heat up & burned his doodads off on 101.Called him two times around '90-'91 when he made negative comments about WV. Still the Grease is the man who gets the most gut wrenching laughs out of me. Is he still on the air, and where? I need a grease fix.
jeff Craven Grease retired from broadcasting about 2005 or so; I used to be part of a Yahoo Greaseman Group but that fell apart a few years ago. I miss him too!

I've always thought that was what got the Greaseman in trouble was his routine was getting predictable and Sterns antics were somewhat refreshing and the Grease was trying to match that but went too far.

Listeners would phone in and call out the ugliest bride from the society pages and the winner would receive a free bucket of KFC. Does anyone remember anything else about that show?
That poor bastard, that comedian chick must’ve felt like shit. He barley covered it up at all that he was a bit annoyed. Even as a good looking disc jockey it’s still a pain in the ass to go out and find these girls when he just could’ve picked her and they were going out tonight. The fact of the matter is he will not be going out with the Penthouse Pet that night, which sucks. As long as you’re decent looking if you can keep these girls laughing you can get a girl that’s literally a 10. They get to a certain point in hotness where they just don’t even expect you to be as good looking as them (In the male counterpart sort of way) the less good looking you are the more attention for their looks which they are perfectly fine with. You just have to have something about you that turns them on. Good looking, money or very entertaining/funny. Preferably a combination but not necessarily.

I had to set up to make out with her to see what was up just in case. She wasn’t that disgusting I figured maybe I could go up in fuck her, with 50 mg of Viagra I would’ve been able to do it. A classic I never knew existed. I came to DC in August 1985, and discovered Grease within a short time. He really did change the way Washington talks.
