    An amazing video of American Flyer trains and accessories! I think I saw some 20 accessories in the video. Great camera shots of a wonderful layout.
    Can you explain the process in detail of putting smoke and choo-choo in the Royal Blue? I would like to do this also.
    Thank you for sharing.

    Just bought 2 Exc. Cond. 933 White& Brown box cars ,one in orig. box! Most of them are broken junk. I grabbed those fast! Paint is super nice too!

    I'm a diehard Lionel guy because that's what I grew up with in the 1950s, but American Flyer made some great trains and the oil drum loader beat Lionel accessories for reliability. Hey, I love all trains.

    underestimated the time to do my new 18 by 24 ft o gauge trainboard by myself. its been almost 3 years since ive run a train, sadly. but, should post my first video in next 7 days. Like you, I like sharing our modeling efforts, bringing a smile in our hearts.... but the trainboard takes a huge effort... I have an american flying steam engine passenger set set my dad bought in the early 1950s, struggling to find a place on my o gauge trainboard. Im planning a video of the flyer set, including the station which has passengers moving on the train station, in and out of the cars. the passengers actually move with vibrations in the passenger cars and on the passenger station floor.... gotta find the time to do the video, should be unique. the set hasnt been run in 42 years, but is in great shape, kept away from moisture and temp change. wish I knew what maintenance is best before I attemp a first run gary j

      Once a year just follow the maintenance instructions in the American Flyer service manual, really easy because the locomotive pictures point where to put a drop of oil and a little grease. Just use q-tips to wipe off excess like I do.

    Very nice display. American Flyer had some really good accessories. Both Lionel and American Flyer offered some steam engines with simple wheels as the trailing truck. The better engines had more realistic trailing trucks with cast side frames.

      If you look in some railroad books on steam clear back to the early 1900s, you will see some steamers with plain old rear trucks with just wheels on them like some of our toy Trains have. The 8 wheel drive prototype engine at Knott's Berry Farm is one of them. They did have a 2-8-2 in the 1950s if I can remember.

    I bought 6 menards buildinga at once, new to their stuff. each bldg makes a loud, noticeable hiss, i believe from their leds. I bought the larger menards power brick meant to run up to 3 blgs, but with only 1 bldg powered up, still that loud hiss. I see you have one of my menards buildings on you layout. suggestions? I dont have any otther led signs, suspecting that all led signs may make that terrible hiss Help! gary j

    Great layout. That Frisco GP7 has great sound. Which new Baldwin's have sound now? I have asked Lionel American Flyer to make the twin unit Seaboard Baldwin's many times with sound and smoke! Why do don't they make this hot seller?

      The 326 Hudson was Gilberts signature locomotive. The 1958 21129 Hudson pulled 60 cars at the Gilbert factory!!

      Why such short trains? Want to see some 13 car freights on your fabulous layout.

    This is one very nice lay-out. How do you get so much speed from all your locomotives. That make mine look terrible.

      Without asking the owner, I can say that he takes very good care of all of his trains. Regular cleaning and maintenance are common.

    • @michaelgmoore5708
      @michaelgmoore5708 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, lubrication and always cleaning. I have never seen a better layout of clean AF trains.

    Who built the Choo Choo Smoke unit into the Royal Blue? Never wanted any locos without SMCC! Too boring.

    • @MarkWick
      @MarkWick 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I want to know that also. I have seen experts say there isn't room to get a smoke unit in that shell. The later plastic shells were elongated at the front to make room for smoke. This one doesn't appear to be externally modified.

    • @michaelgmoore5708
      @michaelgmoore5708 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MarkWick That's why the Silver Bullet is the only bullet nosed engine I will ever have. Lionel AF Should produce the Circus set with SMCC and sounds that the new steamers have.
