Gotta love the Pzkpfw III, my favorite one was an L with partial schurzen, long 50, and Ostketten that was still in service in russia in 44, made a model of that one just for fun. Can`t wait to see your next video, keep it up!

Side skirts were introduced after Soviet 14.5mm anti-tank rifles were found to able pierce the side armour of the panther. This promted the development of the Panther 2 which had thicker side armour, however the
newly proposed side skirts did the job just fine, causing the bullets to tumble after penetrating them.
Nicholas Moran(the Chieften) points this out on his video on a panther that was recently restored.

It’s interesting that the German’s initial doctrine with Panzer III & IV was akin to the Cruiser tank/Infantry tank split. Obviously they then split things even further with the likes of StuG-III, which didn’t really have a direct equivalent in UK doctrine.

Russia converted some Pz 3 hulls to a 76mm self propelled gun. The Ausf N was used in Arnhem to batter the British Paras out of buildings and it could fire a 75mm HEAT round, as well as normal HE. Because of it's short barrel and the relatively short size of the hull, it could operate in wooded terrain and close urban areas, that even a StuG couldnt fit. There was an account from a German, who was stationed in Norway and his unit was tipped for a move to Normandy in 1944 and he was a driver in an N and he related that his chances of survival in such a tank, against Allied tanks was regarded as slim but ironically, Hitler saved his life by cancelling the transfer and the man survived the war.

A light combat vehicle family for the Panzergrenadier Divisions might've been based on the Panzer III chassis. There were Stupz (15cm), FlaKpz (3.7cm), FlammPz, Stug (7.5cm), StuH (10.5cm), and PiPz (for the Pioniere), variants, all of which found use in the Panzerwaffe.
Moreover, check out the Nimrod FlaKPz from Hungaria. Imagine that turret atop a Pz III chassis.

Excellent work on this one man! Just came across the channel a week or so ago maybe and I've gotten something out of and enjoyed all the ones I've watched thus far. So keep up the good work man and look forward to the next one. :-)

Ausf = Ausführung = "Iteration" in this sense.

This comment is gold. I will re-watch this video and live-stream myself doing just that cause it sounds both fun and dangerous.

Invictus, There is a noise in the background of your voice. I really want to watch, but there is no way I can listen to that for 45+ minutes.

A lot of this is from greed .. because all the components of German military vehicles are under warranty... To make money manufacturing they need to build more tanks and different tanks. This destroyed the German Military.
The panzers damaged were always recovered after battles being the winners . Most cases they could replace components in the field and repaint .. this is why 250 for the M variant not realizing you need to win battles to recover vehicles : )
