செங்கால் நாரை (Painted Stork in Tamil )

This series of videos will be on the topic "Nature in Tamil Literature" . I shall be discussing the scientific flavour in Tamil Ancient Literature. The first of this videos is on PAINTED STORK. This stork is mentioned in a beautiful poem, The poet describes its features, behaviour including migration even when he is in pensive mood. Dr Salim Ali in his book on Indian Birds mentions its Tamil Name as Sengaal Narai which means a stork with red legs. I have started this mission to explore Tamil Literature from the scientific perspective of nature, since I am basically a Nature lover and a bird enthusiast.
