This is something that was super underrated about G Rap, his storytelling was by far the greatest we've seen. Tracks like this, Road to the Riches, A Thugs Love Story, Ill Street Blues, One Dark Night, Tekilla Sunrise and so many others are just unreal storytelling masterpieces, G Rap just had this way of making you feel like you were watching a movie.
I'm not from NY (or even the US) -But Kool G Rap seems like the most NY rapper of all time to me. His voice is like if a rat the size of a cat was eating a NY style pizza on top of a platform fire escape hanging off the side of a brownstone.
G-Rap “Roads 2 the Riches”…..and make sure you got the lyrics up there. Keep in mind that’s ‘89. Rakim, Kane and G-Rap were ahead of their time lyrically in the ‘80s
@@ericdennis3899 I think P.E. should have more money than Kanye🤔... Their evolution in hip hop was a world movement, that a large amount of listeners we're from several countries around the world... Also this generation looking back on cats that were in the hip hop lime life before 2 pac Shakur, is something I cherish dearly...
Another classic video and song you guys should peep is THE SYMPHONY by MARLEY MARL feat. THE JUICE CREW ALL-STARS (Master Ace, Craig G., Kool G Rap, Big Daddy Kane). All time classic collab.
What’s sets MC’s like Kool G Rap, Rakim and Big Daddy Kane apart is that they did it first and changed the course of HipHop. You had to be there. Glad you’re enjoyment this song. #JuiceCrew
Coming out of the eighty's and early ninety's, everything was about the Mob so that is why he used the Italian premise. But it was said at the time to be " Street Rap" if you go through his catalog you will see this is what he called his music.
Since you guys are into ‘rap’ rap… I’ve got no problem telling you this album (Live and Let Die) is one of the top 3 Hip Hop albums of all time. Highly recommend! Cheers btw… Spice 1 is 🔥subbed
Road to the Riches was HBO for us. No TV in the apartment. Would come back from trapping smoke one, close my eyes and play his music. Poison also was a lyrical masterpiece. Felt like this album (Live And Let Die) was his most well known but it wasn’t as good as his earlier releases (Road To The Riches, Wanted Dead Or Alive). This album took along time to come out and got changed heavily because they couldn’t clear a lot of samples.
This is definitely a 80 video and a real vivid time piece. Well in NY then if you wanted real weight, it was the Italians. So that's where that comes in the story. But other than that it's a hood rhyme thru and thru. Storytelling on point.
Guaranteed to be one of the best rap sessions you'll hear in 2023. (LA Leakers Ray Vaughn) This video is fire and won't disappoint....You won't regret it. Bars heavy thru-out the video. Put this one at very top of your list and ready to pause every 5 seconds because of so many bars. PEACE ✌️.....
KGR is the best storyteller. From Ill Street Blues, Thug Love Story 1, 2 & 3, Mobsta, Great Train Robbery, Tequila Sunrise, 456, Talk Like $ex, Home Sweet Funeral Home, Road to Riches, and that's just 10 out of 100.
Check out Heavy D "Don't Curse" with KGR... Its a track with rappers from the 80s 90s who cursed on their songs. Which they actually slipped in a cuse words. Straight ❤️🔥
Onyx ft Wu tang "the Worst".. Its also like a movie.. Also Raekwon took that mafioso style that Kool G rap probably started (anybody guna correct me on that?) and ran with it. REact to Raekwon "Wu Gambinos"
Y'all should've did the album version. It's much better. That beat on the remix is trash. The album beat is funkier and more sinister... and he rides it better.
you need to listin to the live and let die verse, not this one💯...it on that album that your showing☝ this song is on his single album/ not this one/ the other verse is waaay better then this one🤷🏿 check it out. and the hook on the other verse and beat is way better then this one💯, you got to listin to train robbery, on that album🤦🏿insane💯..my faverite singles ablum of all time then Mr scarface
This is the censored version with a different beat. The album version is way better. This video kind of ruins it actually. All the swearing taken out and the beat sucks.

I love to watch videos of the younger generation turning back and checking out what we came up listening to 👊🏿
Kool G Rap - Cannon fire 🔥🔥🔥
U will love this track
Kool G Rap and Nas "Fast Life" and "Roads 2 the Riches"
Fast life with Nas is CLASSIC G Rap
I'm not from NY (or even the US) -But Kool G Rap seems like the most NY rapper of all time to me. His voice is like if a rat the size of a cat was eating a NY style pizza on top of a platform fire escape hanging off the side of a brownstone.
Your funny!!! I'm from Corona Queens NY, where G Raps from, that's how you see us eating a slice of pizza on a fire scape 🤣🤣🤣👍🏾

“A Thugs luv story” is possibly Kool G Rap most slept on, hardest story rap ever!🤔 It’s literally a movie in song form.
Part 1, 2 & 3... Mobsta and Tequila Sunrise on the album is ❤️🔥 too.
Without rappers like him and Big Daddy Kane, we wouldn't have NaS, Jay-Z, RIP PUN or Biggie.
Great review...Kool G is definitely GOAT level when it comes to skills/flow and storytelling. Glad to see you give him a listen!

Kool Genius of Rap
my fav G Rap song is Cannon Fire or Road to the Riches... but Cannon Fire shows G Raps multi-syllabic rhyming style on full display...
Yes, and Men At Work. Rakim rocked the same beat. It's hard to pick which one is better.

Yous gotta react to Rikers Island from them, hardest jailhouse rap ever
Y'all gotta do a reaction to the original album version. It's much better production and original lyrics. You'll like it even better - trust me.

This version of Kool G sounds like Scarface.

Kool G Rap heavily influenced Nas so much that Russell Simmons would not sign him to def jam
