I m honestly amazed by this.... First time I see Kylie "just singing", without dancers, Choreographie, stage effects and stuff... I knew she passed a phase, where she distanced herself from her previous teen pop carreer.. Bit I just saw concerts from Fever on.. Amd this middle piece was missing... I t s great to hear her voice shine and enchant the audience, cause she has a very special tone and here she proves, to have an amazing voice control, presence, her natural beauty and sensuality without teasing, in a shirt and pants, just singing with a real cool live band.. The arrangements are top.. And one more thing :not many would cut off all the hits in the beginning and just present the new album and a duet with a cult Songwriter.... She did, she s a brave Artist, always been, always will... With her simple way of going on stage and just deliver it, she s an Icon for the new Generation.. You Don t have to look like a slut, talk like a Gangsta, act like a Bitch and dress like a porn actress, in order to be a Great Artist... Don t confuse feminine liberation with selling yourself out, real women have decency and self respect... Kylie forever
in the 90s (some of the 90's at least), cheesy glam was out and a lot of people wanted quality music over flashy shallow presentation. The success of grunge and electronic rave artists kind of set the stage for that. I think Kylie was smart to adapt. That's not to say her work before or after this was bad. I went through a phase where I was kind of a music snob, but now I just don't care and listen to anything I enjoy.

I still remember and interview of her speaking about her need for artistic freedom, and her at the time producers Stick, Autken and Waterman ( billionaire music producers of uncountable hits on the second half of the 80s) would laugh about..... Indeed did she really chased her freedom. And got it m once she had it, she experimented really much, gaining respect from.everywhere and me too, I was snob about her and other bubble gum pop singer by that time ( I was in love with Rock n Metal).. But when I heard "put yourself in my place", it was Love.... Can t get you outta my head dudn t impress me too much, but In your eyes did, and slowly I fell in Love with Her... By the time I saw a concert of her promoting the Body Language album, already by the opening of still standing, I was in Love and a fan... Since then I follow her, watch her fantastic Live concerts, and really think that she does her job the best way... Humble, sincere, talented she knows where pop belongs and it s a Queen in the genre

Great album, loved Did It Again. Sadly both singles and LP under performed commercially. I’ve never been keen on Light Years, except the first two hits, which were very strong pop singles. They saved her career. Kylie likes performing Kids live, and it was a hit, but I never liked it. Please Stay was a forgettable and forgotten single. Your Disco Needs You was a camp Sydney Mardi Gras headliner type track. But Kylie was breaking away from relying on her diehard gay fan base and heading back to the embrace of the mainstream. Probably a wise decision not to release it as single in the UK at that time
