I was at Avalon Air Show one year, just before Australia got the super hornet I think.... There was some impressive flying on display from F15's and Super Hornets..... Then came the Aussie's turn, in his bog standard, non "super" Hornet..... And he absolutely tore the bags out of it... Best display I've ever seen to this day... Didn't matter that he couldn't do the cobra shit, he ripped it up, balls to the wall, like Summernats.
Where’s Timothy Alsop? I’m an old friend. I remember Tim taking me to see Top Gun at Mallacoota in 86 and after the film I clearly remember him saying passionately “I’m going to become a fighter pilot”. Just brilliant
The ADF doesn't accept cash payments (or Bitcoin) for joyrides, but if you have a few regionally superior submarines lying around that you could lend to the Navy for at least fifteen years...
Would it be possible to get footage like this with eye tracking software? I'm always fascinated when the pilots eyes flick around a lot but what they are looking at and the cues they are taking.
All the A and B model Hornets have gone to new owners, the F-35 is the only single seat on the books, the F/A 18F, EA 18G and Hawk are all 2 seaters, and the MQ-28, MQ-4c and MQ-9b are all zero seaters😀👍
Awesome footage i to would have loved a joyride b4 i was kicked to the gutter on medical at least my brothers and nephews have had the opera unity to go up quick shout out to Dean and Jake , still serving
😳How does your CO & the ground crew take it when you report clipping another friggin Roo? Said it before & No doubt, I'll be saying it again. 😂✌️ The RAAF are mad(unts.. Respect. .🇦🇺❤️☮️
They seem terrifyingly close to the ground in some of those maneuvers, especially when the aircraft is rolled onto its side. Just raw power holding them in the sky. Does anyone have any idea what sort of minimum height they would be flying at? Is it standard proceedure to release to infrared missile decoys when rolling away like that or only when being targeted?
Flares for IR missile decoy. There are different programs you can set for release profiles of countermeasures. Preferably better to use them during an exercise than in a real dogfight!

What a joke, these can't fly outside of Australia except from carriers, if they flew to say Solomon islands to intercept they'd have about 5 minutes loitering time they'd have to return straight home.. Australia doesn't even have one carrier!!
They showed the fuel tanker aircraft in the video. Depending on how many times you want to refuel determines the flight radius (pilot fatigue aside). So being conservative - radius from Australia out as far as Indonesian and PNG airspace - no problem. Far in excess of a carrier group airwing - who have very limited tanking capability, the advantage of a carrier is surprise if it remains undetected. Australia has treaty access to airfields across most of SE Asia if needed (Singapore/Malaysia/Guam/Japan).
Love the raw footage, so much better in my opinion. Thanks for the upload

Cool - the classic hornets are a lethal fighter.
Just to be clear - you’re looking at the back seat - that’s not the person flying the jet.
wasn't till the shot with the gbu drop that i realised too.

thankyou for showing to us
Super cool footage! That’s nuts!
It's super cool like the Super Hornet!😂
That low altitude flight is just unreal. What a job!
Top flying and a beautiful country
Bloody brilliant.
Have to love this. Down in the weeds. Great flying 🇦🇺💪
Impressive. Most Impressive.
I would love to see the Kangaroo in Star Wars Canyon.
Thanks for the Raw Footage Guys.
I see what you did there….
Anyone know what river system it is he followed ?
I would love a ride in a super hornet!!! How much cash do you want RAAF?
couple million for another F-35 probably

@@bleachsmoker863 Yeah, turns out you can't pay legal fines for cryptocurrency fraud with Bitcoin either. So unfair...ha. 😉
If you are rich, a celebrity or well connected you can get a ride in the US, but not here in Australia unfortunately :(

Got any good coordinates for Barra? just asking for a mate..

It was the back seater here. You never saw the pilot or his views. This guy was along for the ride...
Even if it could be done - it would be hard to absorb - skipping around from instruments, hud, sides, up, down.
@@rinzler9775 I doubt they would do it anyways as I'm sure some of the pages on the displays are classified

is that a 2 seater?
Yep, RAAF only operates the F model not the single seat E model
@@doemacmonkey don't forget the G.
@@andrewsmall6834 true, although (inaccurately) I think of the G as a growler not a superhornet, a different bird.
@@doemacmonkey Yep. The F is an F/A - or Fighter Attack. The G is an E/A or Electronic Attack
@@andrewsmall6834 The “G” is actually an E/A-18G “Growler”. It isn’t a F/A (Fighter/Attack) 18F Super Hornet.

Can the guy in the back ever get to be the pilot?
Excellent video should base the b2 in Australia 🇦🇺 permanently and long range missiles the super hornet is no 1 help protect our country Australia 👍
Australia got the F35's as well - much more advanced electronic warfare capacity.
Looks like same helmets they had 25 years ago
