Translation from Vivek sir: Right from the time of her marriage and because she did not have any children, she decided to sow the seeds and grow trees and treat each tree like my child. She was born in 1910 . Today she has completed 107 years. She has received a lot of awards and in 2019 she got Padmashre from Indian government. Thimmaka is known as the Banyan tree Thimmaka (Aalamarada Thimmaka) She and her late husband used to go in bicycle taking water in 4 buckets riding 5 kilometers everyday to feed water to those trees. In this way they had grown 385 Banyan trees. In a poll conducted by the BBC she was included in the 100 most influential woman who had given tremendous service to the society. In Los Angeles in California (USA) the environmental education foundation has named its organization after Thimmaka. Thimmaka is not an inspiration for youngsters and students not only in Tamilnadu but all over India. So give her a round of applause. The main reason for her living for 107 years is the blessing of all those countless tress that she planted. Now Rashmika will translate all these in English.
