I have a theory: So the reason the nether princess/Abigail is now the nether princess is quite simple. I think when in “the struggle” she got bowed in the had, it hit something in her head and she lost her memory. So General Naeus realized she was very strong he took this as chance to power the arsenal of the nether. This was done by tricking Abigail into thinking she’s a nether princess as she doesn’t remember Rain. This is shown, when in “We are the danger” and “just so you know” she has no recollection of Rain as she shows no remorse or sympathy beating up Rain not so ever. There is special people to hold the flag as a moral support for the troops, whenever the flags moves up forward, it'll give attention to other troops saying like "bois you guys did it" aka if the flag advances, the country will advance to that territory. It's kinda hard to explain but you got the point. It's a honorouble job, and I'm pretty sure flagmen had at least a gun or a sword to fight back, or use the flag as a weapon

One detail I love is that on the Nether Crown when the “Pig King” wears it, there’s only 2 crystals glowing on it, but when Naeus wears it, all 3 crystals are glowing, showing that he is the final Nether King
