I met a friend 50 years ago who walked from Poland at the end of 1939 to Odessa ,his parents murdered by the nazis. At 16 years old he arrived in Egypt and joined the British army saying he was 18! He fought the germans and obtained the British nationality. Rest in pace Alex! I will always remember the way you told me to live !
Some Bulgarians moved (esp the end of 18/beginning of 19 cent) to Moldova and Ukraine (they live in the area called Bessarabiya till today) and mixed their music with those of the natives and the Jews. So there's a branch of klezmer music called bulgar, bulgarish or bulgaryaska (famous in diff parts of the world under diff names). Bulgar klezmer became most prominent in the USA after the immigration of those musicians in the end of the 19/beginning of 20 cent.after the pogroms.
Los violines, el clarinete y el acordeón son una locuraaaa de bello!!!!😍😍😍
I never knew I needed this music in my life until today.
remember the word music comes from the roving musichnik of easten Europe..that is where our music started ..
I never knew I needed schmaltz 'till now!
When the accompaniment follows the lead with the clarinet for those split seconds..oh man... chills!
