You're right about Anakin's "positive" reinforcement loop. He's not an idiot, but losing to Obi-Wan was a wake-up call that came far too late. Although removing Obi-Wan from Anakin on Coruscant helped Palpatine, we shouldn't really give him the credit when the Jedi Council made the decision to send him to fight Grievous. You're also right about Filoni trying to use TCW to recontextualize the prequels. However, unlike the multimedia project, which worked with the prequels and made good retcons, he just rewrote things to fit his personal AU perspective, bad retcons. That's why he actually is a hack writer. When Obi-Wan wants to go back to Coruscant to do his job and rescue Palpatine, Filoni puts Ahsoka on an unearned moral pedestal while he hates on the Jedi council by having her accuse Obi-Wan of playing politics. To your point on the bad dialog, Ahsoka could have just said something like, "I wish they'd stop doing that. I'm not part of the order anymore." And Anakin could have simply replied, "But you're still technically a part of the GAR." And those facepainted helmets are so awful to look at. How is that not super racist in-universe? It's like the Star Wars equivalent of blackface. I forgot that they did that with Maul on the other side, too. Its sad that the clones from a sterile environment can somehow have more personalized armor than fully socially integrated Mandalorians. And you've basically laid out why Maul's return has been mishandled. Filoni tries to portray Maul as a schemer when he's just Palpatine's loyal erand boy. Sorry for the longer negative comment after you had to deal with other negative comments.

Placing bets. He'll be disappointed. Too much hype. Not enough analysis. Too much spectacle. Not enough logic or sense.
