These are pretty good! It is surprising to me when people camping in a foreign place, at night, on foot just separated from the elements by a jacket and strips of nylon, and they’re like, I figured I’m still safe since I brought my 1 inch butter knife. The story about the Boy Scouts encountering a big doot while camping in the Boundary Waters off of Moose Lake in Northeastern Minnesota got my attention really quick as I live about 15 minutes from there and I have been to the Charles L. Somers Northern Tier Boy Scout Base on Moose Lake many times. I have had my own encounters with the big guy myself and can assure you that to have any spooky encounter or bad situation in the area where the writer of the story was at is about the most unnerving feeling that you can experience as you can be out in the Boundary Waters for DAYS and never encounter any other people. Personally I don't recommend going into the wilderness up here unless you are armed with a high powered handgun (not a wimpy 9mm) as bear are common and cougar are also occasionally in the area, and of course there are the occasional big foot and you don't want to have an encounter with any of them unarmed or armed with something that is underpowered. Over the last 20 years there have been several people up here doing research on bigfoot and there have been reports of Bigfoots being sighted just outside of town. But for me, it's the crazy ppl in small towns, in the woods, in the middle of nowhere. Not that I ever feel unsafe anywhere, really (but I suppose I should) --- still, I think that an attitude of "I'm crazy AF, maybe crazier than you (person in the bushes), so don't mess w/me, I might bite your face off." I’m with you ! As soon as it looks like a dog is gonna die I move on. Totally takes away from the enjoyment for me. I KNOW it’s reality and I’m not a Karen , it’s just too sad for my blood.
Yeah, seems safer, cleaner safety from a distance. If it's an animal, they aren't necessarily afraid of a shiny piece of steel, and if it's a crazy human, they'll likely back down from a gun. But weilding a knife at a pyscho, is almost more of a challenge. And how about the ease with which a crazy, harmful individual may get the knife from you, then use it against you. I would carry a knife because I don't have a gun, but I'm not usually in the deep woods alone.
No shit, I hear these guys saying " I always carry a small knife with me when I'm hiking/camping etc..n I'm just like"wow" that is all I need to know about your outdoor smarts
@@BOMBPOP-n4i hahaha, yes!!! Not just *only* a knife, but a SMALL knife at that. You couldn't even ward off a rabid raccoon w/that. Boy scouts are more prepared, lol.
@@nbsoboleski From personal experience, a small knife is easier to carry around and much easier to swing in case of danger. Although it's also much safer and also more dangerous carrying firepower with you, when the danger is another human, they can sometimes use it against you, if you're not fast enough. Overall, any weapon you carry can keep you safe, but can also get you in trouble, which is sad, because that means no one is ever really completely safe 😕 Have a good day 😊
Nice to hear a local story from Flamborough. There certainly are Coyotes out there. We also have a much needed mental health system that is overwhelmed by people needing treatment. Many live on the street or in the woods.
The geocaching one left me wondering who was more suspect, the old dude or the writer's brother-in-law. A homemade embalming hook...just chillin in his trunk...right.
after years of listening to stories I have decided so many of these are people just being scared of a stranger for no real reason lol a guy driving with a bunch of trash bags is so frightening

We were camping in Canada in a cab over camper, and sometimes my brother would sleep in the cab of the truck instead of the camper. A very curious grizzly started sniffing at the windows, which were open. I guess the bear made a half hearted attempt to get in the camper, too, and my mom shook me awake. “Look! There’s a bear!” And I said, “that’s a bear” and went back to sleep. I have no recollection of any of it, though I am extremely afraid of bears.

I’m from anchorage Alaska and my dad works on the slope. He has a scary story too. His coworker/friend was working on a pipe that was frozen and it broke open and hit him in the head causing his brains to to everywhere and my dad was a fire fighter at the time so he was the first on the scene to see his friend, it broke his heart seeing his friends brains everywhere. He’s now a turbine engineer on the slope instead of a fire fighter.

Not that I ever feel unsafe anywhere, really (but I suppose I should) --- still, I think that an attitude of "I'm crazy AF, maybe crazier than you (person in the bushes), so don't mess w/me, I might bite your face off." Okay, not really, haha, but real recognize real. Lmfao.
Great!
Nice job on this. 👍 Thanks
I hope you continue to draw in new subscribers. You do a great job and the stories are really good. Thank you for not having any dogs die. I hate those and will never listen to them. The Stories are creepy and the rain in the background is nice.
I’m with you ! As soon as it looks like a dog is gonna die I move on. Totally takes away from the enjoyment for me. I KNOW it’s reality and I’m not a Karen , it’s just too sad for my blood.
What's up with these guys on the trail carrying knives? Don't they know about firepower.
@@nbsoboleski or a kitten...
@@nbsoboleski From personal experience, a small knife is easier to carry around and much easier to swing in case of danger. Although it's also much safer and also more dangerous carrying firepower with you, when the danger is another human, they can sometimes use it against you, if you're not fast enough. Overall, any weapon you carry can keep you safe, but can also get you in trouble, which is sad, because that means no one is ever really completely safe 😕
Have a good day 😊
We can't go to sleep without you😅
New subscriber here, just got hooked 😌
Thank you.
Great narrator, have you done any audio books?
Poor Terry was friendzoned 😂
In the bear story, the guy should have put the bear down right away to stop its suffering and fear. No animal should suffer like that.
I couldn't listen to that story. I had to skip it.
Nature is cruel.
When is the time stamp? I don’t want to hear that. I

Interesting tales
Nice to hear a local story from Flamborough.
There certainly are Coyotes out there.
We also have a much needed mental health system that is overwhelmed by people needing treatment.
Many live on the street or in the woods.
Your voice is 🔥😍

In the wolf story I would've just fed everyone to the wolf.
That poor wolf in the first story has been through hell and back...he ain't scared of you.🥴🤨😤🥺
The geocaching one left me wondering who was more suspect, the old dude or the writer's brother-in-law. A homemade embalming hook...just chillin in his trunk...right.
after years of listening to stories I have decided so many of these are people just being scared of a stranger for no real reason lol a guy driving with a bunch of trash bags is so frightening
There was more to it than that. Wasn’t as simple as a dude driving around with trash bags. They KNEW something nefarious was going on.
@@lisacolbert5987 if they KNEW something was going on it wouldn’t be some ambiguous story about a guy with trash, it would be about what nefarious stuff he was actually doing
This is next level Booze and Boos
try to avoid the repeated descending pitch cadence and you are a top 3 scary story narrator
Those damn foxes get you every time
You and Donovan Dread Have the same issue however mad respect to you for letting us know we might hear some stories we have before as said other channel does not
I’m from anchorage Alaska and my dad works on the slope.
Humans don’t belong in the woods. Stay out. It’s not all tweets and cute chipmunk cheeks like people want to believe. You are ALWAYS THE PREY with or without protection. Whether an experienced hunter or not, you don’t belong in those woods.
We did the BSA boundary waters 7 days of paradise.
“I wasnt about to go out there and fight satans guard dog with a clip board and a mouse pad” 🤣
Nature can be cruel, sometimes your biggest regret is something you didn't do.
Hello from Finland ❤
Finland =🌈
Gutentagen you zesty people
That story where the hiker says a gun is too heavy to carry knows nothing about guns. A 10mm round will drop a moose and it's a handgun round.
😂 I noticed that some of these stories don't have the most intelligent people who use common sense or caution
Alaska ❤
