The new GT500 Shelby has 760bhp out of 5,2l. The Demon needs a 6,2l engine with a much bigger blower to only do 48hp(80hp when using 100octane race gas) more. Ford really learned a lot from european engine manufacfurers, like Cosworth. Also the Shelby comes with state of the art chassis with double wishbone suspension. The Demon on the other hand is based on a Mercedes W210 chassis(lx platform) which is from 1995. With the GT 500 you can go through corners like with a "real" sports car. The Demon on the other hand only can do straights, with its outdated suspension system and chassis) There is a reason why the Shelby GT 500 costs 30k more.

These are Car And Driver and other car mags times. No auto available in the Shelby. 4500 lbs compared to 3850. It would have been nice to see a 2014 Shelby with an auto for the strip. I'm sure that it would have gotten into the 10's with a decent driver. Either way, my '03 Cobra runs better than this GT500, at least with this driver. Oy!

I don't get it either. But, I really think Ford has an issue with the platform, or something else. I had an issue of Car and Driver that had the 850 hp. Super Snake Mustang in it...and all it was running was 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, and quarters at 12.20. That's SAD for that many ponies. Even the magazine said they knew Ford had made a TERRIBLE decision in putting the car out for tests before having all the kinks worked out. And there were some MAJOR kinks too..

Angel Gutierrez depends how you take care of it that’s every vehicle, but I got mine used at 23k miles I’m at 34 right now and still no issue I got this because insurance purposes when I’m 25 I’ll get a GT but I do know people have driven the ecoboost to 100k and still no issues I believe it’s still to early to give this engine an estimated life span, and reliability I’m doing 25 city right now and I have power that’s near stock gt lol so it’s a fun reliable car when it comes down to it if you wanna wait for better insurance rates def a fun vehicle to have in the mean time

@@MrRedforman1 This is a 2011-12 GT 500 with 550 hp. The 2013-14 GT 500 with 662 hp was a mid-11 second car. The stick shift Hellcat was a 12 second car. Apples to apples with the stick. These are Car And Driver and other car mags times. No auto available in the Shelby. 4500 lbs compared to 3850. It would have been nice to see a 2014 Shelby with an auto for the strip. I'm sure that it would have gotten into the 10's with a decent driver. Either way, my '03 Cobra runs better than this GT500, at least with this driver. Oy!

I don't get it either. But, I really think Ford has an issue with the platform, or something else. I had an issue of Car and Driver that had the 850 hp. Super Snake Mustang in it...and all it was running was 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, and quarters at 12.20. That's SAD for that many ponies. Even the magazine said they knew Ford had made a TERRIBLE decision in putting the car out for tests before having all the kinks worked out. And there were some MAJOR kinks too..

Angel Gutierrez I’ve put 2k dollars worth of mods into it, you don’t have to believe me lol but the ecoboost engine is an easily upgradable engine, the torque is what makes it a great vehicle

Angel Gutierrez depends how you take care of it that’s every vehicle, but I got mine used at 23k miles I’m at 34 right now and still no issue I got this because insurance purposes when I’m 25 I’ll get a GT but I do know people have driven the ecoboost to 100k and still no issues I believe it’s still to early to give this engine an estimated life span, and reliability I’m doing 25 city right now and I have power that’s near stock gt lol so it’s a fun reliable car when it comes down to it if you wanna wait for better insurance rates def a fun vehicle to have in the mean time

According to Car & Driver road test, 2010 Shelby GT500 would run 12.9 at a bit over 110. Yeah, I know, Car & Driver, and I would think 540 hp should run better. But that's about what this guy ran, so I don't know that he sucked. . . . OK, he sure could have cut a better light.
