No turning water into wine No learning while you're in the line I'll take you to the broken sign You see these lights are blue Come and get it Lost it at the city limit Say goodbye 'Cause they will find a way to trim it Everybody Lookin' for a silly gimmick Gotta get away Can't take it for another minute This town is made of many things Just look at what the current brings So high, it's only promising This place was made on you Tell me, baby, what's your story Where you come from And where you wanna go this time? Tell me, lover, are you lonely? The thing we need is Never all that hard to find Tell me, baby, what's your story Where do you come from And where you wanna go this time? You're so lovely, are you lonely? Giving up on the innocence you left behind Some claim to have the fortitude Too shrewd to blow the interlude Sustaining pain to set a mood Step out to be renewed I'll move you like a baritone Jungle brothers on the microphone Getting over with an undertone It's time to turn to stone Chitty chitty, baby When your nose is in the nitty gritty Life could be a little sweet But life could be a little shitty What a pity Boston and a Kansas city Looking for a hundred But you only ever found a fitty Three fingers in the honeycomb You ring just like a xylophone Devoted to the chromosome The day that you left home Tell me, baby, what's your story Where you come from And where you wanna go this time? Tell me, lover, are you lonely? The thing we need is Never all that hard to find Tell me, baby, what's your story Where you come from And where you wanna go this time? Everytime I listen to music on TH-cam and this song comes up I just need to watch the video, and I have watched it so many times it's funny but I just can't look away. So I stop whatever I do at the time and stare at the music video. It is the best video they've made, at least to me. So honest and funny, so spontaneous. I absolutely adore it. Kisses from Croatia and I can't wait to see them in Budapest.
Well said Dora. It is so honest and funny, and so spontaneous. I just love watching the video too, so wild and free and full of life. Just a bunch of very diverse people coming together, being happy and having fun. It's such a fantastic and positive message for telling people to love and welcome each other with open arms, and the chilis do it so well. Just about every type of person is present - men, women, blacks, whites, Hispanics, Asians, etc. Older people, younger people, everybody is included. Love the horseplay between AK and Flea towards the end, such fun guys lol xx
This has got to be the greatest music video in the world. I think it shows the true side of show business, and what they did for those people was really nice.
I wonder if John's explaining at 4:15 that he'll leave the band and will eventually come back again like "yes, I'll leave for 10 years, I want to explore Electronic music, ya know? I'll come back around maybe after ten years or so"
These guys have brought so much joy to my life since I was in high school. I’m in my thirties now, I’ve been through a lot of things that I don’t wish not even to my worst enemies, I’ve lost people I’ve loved… Music and rhcp have been my refugee all my life, this song and particular video makes me happy. Thanks for being wonderful human beings Flea, Chad, Anthony, John and every single guitar player you guys have had.
My sister used to love this song. She was a big RHCP fan and made sure everyone knew it because she played their songs throughout the whole house. She always told me how much she connected to this song. Now this song holds a very special place in my heart as well.
I think it’s quite a unique concept to let random people who have dreams of being a star be in music video and just let them be themselves. That’s a band that really gets it. Love this song, before the song is over you’re singing along and it feels so freeing and positive, yet so true and honest. TY RHCP

No learning while you're in the line
I'll take you to the broken sign
You see these lights are blue
Come and get it
Lost it at the city limit
Say goodbye
'Cause they will find a way to trim it
Everybody
Lookin' for a silly gimmick
Gotta get away
Can't take it for another minute
This town is made of many things
Just look at what the current brings
So high, it's only promising
This place was made on you
Tell me, baby, what's your story
Where you come from
And where you wanna go this time?
Tell me, lover, are you lonely?
The thing we need is
Never all that hard to find
Tell me, baby, what's your story
Where do you come from
And where you wanna go this time?
You're so lovely, are you lonely?
Giving up on the innocence you left behind
Some claim to have the fortitude
Too shrewd to blow the interlude
Sustaining pain to set a mood
Step out to be renewed
I'll move you like a baritone
Jungle brothers on the microphone
Getting over with an undertone
It's time to turn to stone
Chitty chitty, baby
When your nose is in the nitty gritty
Life could be a little sweet
But life could be a little shitty
What a pity
Boston and a Kansas city
Looking for a hundred
But you only ever found a fitty
Three fingers in the honeycomb
You ring just like a xylophone
Devoted to the chromosome
The day that you left home
Tell me, baby, what's your story
Where you come from
And where you wanna go this time?
Tell me, lover, are you lonely?
The thing we need is
Never all that hard to find
Tell me, baby, what's your story
Where you come from
And where you wanna go this time?
You're so lovely, are you lonely?
Giving up on the innocence you left behind
Tell me, baby, what's your story
Where you come from
And where you wanna go this time?
Tell me, lover, are you lonely?
The thing we need is
Never all that hard to find
Tell me, baby, what's your story
Where you come from
And where you wanna go this time?
You're so lovely, are you lonely?
Giving up on the innocence you left behind
The hero we don't deserve, but need
Is no one gonna talk about the woman at 1:59 who looks JUST like Bonnie Tyler?????
thanks bro , i didn't understand some words
I tițha hle mai 👍
Its life Could be a little kitty not that
only RHCP would rock out with thier fans like this, amazing stuff. I would kill for a chance to jam with those guys.
I love the thumbnail pic with Johnny singing & looking into the camera while Flea is seemingly floating upside down in the air... someone is holding him.
most people love famous rhcp songs such as californication and the otherside, this one is my all time favorite
The lead instrument on this song is definitely bass!
Go flea!
Agreed. Rock on!
+StratMatt777 flea is definiatly my role model as a bass player but he is as wierd as fuck
StratMatt777 The lead instrument on most rhcp songs is the bass
Flea is the only reason I give half a darn about rhcp....
@@regul8or71 John? The best guitarist of our time????
Everytime I listen to music on TH-cam and this song comes up I just need to watch the video, and I have watched it so many times it's funny but I just can't look away. So I stop whatever I do at the time and stare at the music video. It is the best video they've made, at least to me. So honest and funny, so spontaneous. I absolutely adore it.
Kisses from Croatia and I can't wait to see them in Budapest.
+MadigeMade1 Yeah, unfortunately, so true.
Well said. This actually puts a smile on my face, especially when they come out and surprise people.
Dora A fan from Bosnia is here too :)
Yeah me too xd
Well said Dora. It is so honest and funny, and so spontaneous. I just love watching the video too, so wild and free and full of life. Just a bunch of very diverse people coming together, being happy and having fun. It's such a fantastic and positive message for telling people to love and welcome each other with open arms, and the chilis do it so well. Just about every type of person is present - men, women, blacks, whites, Hispanics, Asians, etc. Older people, younger people, everybody is included. Love the horseplay between AK and Flea towards the end, such fun guys lol xx
this is still one of the best, purest, joy-inducing videos in existence
Wow...what a gift for those people. Thanks for the humanity. You guys are the best.
I wonder where these people are in life nowadays.
Some dreams were meant to be declined, what's your story?
My same thought
Same
Pretty sure the Peppers are still together and on tour right now.
They are playing with rhcp
This has got to be the greatest music video in the world. I think it shows the true side of show business, and what they did for those people was really nice.
I love this video so much ah
One of the best music videos of all time.
I wonder if John's explaining at 4:15 that he'll leave the band and will eventually come back again like "yes, I'll leave for 10 years, I want to explore Electronic music, ya know? I'll come back around maybe after ten years or so"
This is the most wholesome thing ive ever watched
One of the greatest music videos of all time, I wonder what became of these people. I wish them the best!
just read up top that the "I just wanna be myself" dude in the beginning just passed away. seemed like a cool dude too.
@@OhioOwns how'd he pass, do you know?
@@daltonevans3412 wish I knew, but have no idea. he looked pretty healthy too
These guys have brought so much joy to my life since I was in high school.
Seeing john smile are such a moodbooster
My sister used to love this song. She was a big RHCP fan and made sure everyone knew it because she played their songs throughout the whole house. She always told me how much she connected to this song. Now this song holds a very special place in my heart as well.
HE'S BACK
WTF you're right!!! He is back!!!
Yaaassssss, we should make noise under every John related video!!!!
BACK AGAIN
The God has been summoned again.
Alleluia!
the best one music video for me.
I'm feeling great and happy every time to watch this.
Everyone needs a little RHCP in their life!!
@Star Shatter :)
3:37 He's back!
one of the most underrated chili pepper songs EVER
They make me feel like theyre my bigger bros...and I'm their little sister...im the Easter baby...but THEY wrote the getaway for the gate city.
I think it’s quite a unique concept to let random people who have dreams of being a star be in music video and just let them be themselves. That’s a band that really gets it. Love this song, before the song is over you’re singing along and it feels so freeing and positive, yet so true and honest. TY RHCP
John's backing vocals with Anthony's lead vocals. I feel love.
This music video makes me incredibly happy. Something I can certainly get more of these days
John Frusciante is pure talent! Their presence on stage is massive! LOVE the RHCP!!!!
