Oh good. I'm constantly moving things into different folders! I recently renamed "Language" to "Learn" and have quite a few new Notebooks that are better suited in there!
(3') practicing Japanese (or any characters, really)... grayed out model is a cool idea! You can also use a different layer when practicing (in black, over the grey model), that way you can clear, rinse & repeat :)
@@hieromonk120 it's not clear if the greyed out Japanese characters are actually on a different layer (the one just on top of the lined or whatever template she's using) and if she's using a different layer on top of that to trace the same (in black for practicing). you can do that on reMarkable (both rM1 & 2) so you can turn individual layers' visibility on/off or even modify/ clear the entire layer (without affecting the others). no idea if Kindle Scribe supports layers, but if you can upload pdf's and annotate those, you should be able to achieve the same. the pdf (base layer) remains unchanged as you scribble and erase notes on top (practice makes perfect, innit?) cheers! have a good one (& best wishes for 2023)
Hi @Monsty Did you felt the need to buy their Connect plan ? does the storage from the device suffice ? for example, those folders that you have,(you said you are creating daily "lists") how much space do they take. Thanks a lot and sorry for my English
Your English is great. I didn't buy the Connect plan. It wasn't an option when I had first bought my rM2. I currently don't have a plan because I think the storage has plenty of space. My current storage is at 1.25GB out of 6.41GB.
I have probably watched over 50 TH-camrs discussion the RM2. You were the first one I found to be very helpful. I have several questions--do you provide private lessons? Thank you.
@@veganwhilstasleep8367 obvious to me you don’t own the remarkable. Comparing an iPad to the RM2 would be like comparing your iPhone to your toaster. Two completely different devices for two completely diff purposes. Can you do writing of notes with your iPad? Sure, but it doesn’t even come close to the experience w the RM2. And there is almost zero overlap in what an iPad can do vs RM2.
For me, I hold the pen funny, and my hand/palm always must remain pressed against drawing surface. iPad causes me issues when I reach the right side of screen.
Very nice! Thank you for this video, I've been searching for one on how the notebook management works, and this is extremely helpful!. I think I'll go ahead and order a remarkable 2 soon!.
The reMarkable team has done a great job of doing many releases. I think most people would like the updates, but I definitely have fallen behind on all of the new features. I got the rM2 because of its simplicity and if it stayed the same I'd probably still be happy. Some of the new features I do like: better lasso tool for moving objects and copying, holding a line that you draw and it straightens automatically, ability to tag your notes.
How has your reMarkable been working for you? I’m thinking about planning out a garden and I’m sure that’s not the same as a landscape architect, but I’d love to hear if you’ve learned/ perfected designing areas.
Great video. I'm considering to get one of these. I actually want the Onyx Boox Note Air because it has built in lighting, but have read that you need to use a screen protector on it to write well because it has a glass screen. I'm not a fan of screen protectors stuck to my devices. Also the Remarkable 2 is slightly less expensive. I've always wanted to learn how to draw zentangle patterns, but didn't want to waste paper. Also I think this might be a fun device to write a zine of some sort on, or to write a journal. I also run a business directory which will have it's own publication and I think this device might be great for reading the pdf. I loved that thing you did where you circled and then copied the snowflake and pasted it onto the document. I think I would go crazy with that in my documents because I love to draw fish and flowers... they would be everywhere in my work I'm sure.
Thank you for your video! I’m trying to figure out how to get the device to open to a certain page every single time (it’s a quick sheet). In other words, I want my to do list to be the first thing that I see when I turn it on. Any ideas?
If you're not fully turning it off every time, the page you left it on before clicking it to sleep should be the first thing you see. If you create a Notebook, you can specify if you want the Notebook Cover to be the "Last page visited" or the "First page." Perhaps you could create a new Notebook where the cover is always the "First page" for your to do list.
Remarkable looks very great, I am looking a tablet for just taking notes..however I like to be very clean in writing..very high resolution like a fineliner.. but I also like to use different colors.
I used the Grid Large Portrait template, the Paintbrush, Thin stroke, Gray color and drew each of the characters carefully. Click the second to bottom icon that looks like a stack of papers > Click "Add layer" > On Layer 2 make sure the Eye is visible > Select your color as Black. Draw over your gray characters to practice.
The only way I could see you being able to store some information beyond what the RM2 already has with the cloud would be to email yourself the notes and add the document to Google Drive.
nice instructive video, so thx. Some basic questions: is there a plain/blank page template without lines etc for simply drawing? and, if u wish to make a hardcopy of your page for instance, do you just save as pdf, then connect to a printer then it prints? also uploading to the web -- is this a feature ?
Yes, there's a Blank template. No lines or anything. If you'd like to print your drawing, select "Send by Email" (located on the bottom left) and you can print from your computer like you would any document.
@@Monsty Thank you Monsty. This info helps. I'm an artist in the US and love using & experimenting with all mediums. The price on this dazzling tech is pretty prohibitive (for me), but I hope to enjoy drawing on one of these one day. OK much care n health to you and yours.
I’m thinking to buy this for my mother. She is going to read a lot of PDF files, The normal tablet makes her eyes tired, 1)Do you find that your eyes reacts to this tablet as if it’s a paper? 2)How much memory does this have, I mean if a PDF file is very big can it handle it? 3)Is it possible to zoom in while reading a PDF file?
1. I haven't even noticed any strain on my eyes. It's not backlit and is like paper. I've been gifted two Kindles and haven't used them because of the backlight and advertisements. 2. I currently have 44 Notebooks, many pages of Quick Sheets, and six Ebooks. My disk space shows 0.46 GB out of 6.41 GB used. There's plenty of space for me. 3. Yes. On the toolbar there's a magnifying glass with a + icon but it's a bit annoying trying to use it. However, when you go through the setup/ in Settings, there's an "Accessibility" tab where you can select Font Size of "Normal" or "Large." All of my videos are on Normal size.
@@Taydiablo3 I thought so too, but I've added quite a few EBooks on there and haven't stopped making new Notes or Notebooks. I have more than enough space.
Cool video :). I'm sorry to tell you that you got the hiragana stroke order wrong, it's very important to follow the correct order. And speaking about Japanese, I know this device has a function that converts the handwriting, does it work with Japanese aswell?
Thanks for the tip. I'm still very new to Japanese writing and definitely need to practice (correctly). It doesn't look like Japanese is on the list. Here are the languages that it converts to text: Basque, Bulgarian, Catalan , Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English (Canada), English (United Kingdom), English (United States), Estonia, Finnish, French (Canada), French (France), Galician, German (Austria),German (Germany), Greek, Hungarian, Icelandic, Irish, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak, Slovenia, Spanish and Swedish.
How do I open just a easy quick sheet in the remarkable? Each time I open it up again it brings up all of the sheets before and I don’t want that because I want to put them in files.
You're right. If you're in a Folder (or anywhere) and click "Quick sheets" it will open up your existing quick sheets from before. You'll want to create Notebooks to put into the Files. You can also create Notebooks on your main page that will show next to Quick sheets. I think the + button next to Quick sheets at the top incorrectly implies that you're adding only one sheet, whereas if it didn't have the plus it would look like you were selecting more of an icon from the main page.
Where does reMarkable 2 stores the notes that you create? Is it in the cloud or in it's internal memory? How do you transfer notes between reMarkable 2 and a PC? Does reMarkable 2 have autosync to sync up notes in real time?
There's 8 GB of internal storage. I believe it stores in both as long as you have an internet connection. I have the app on my computer but I don't care to access it on there. I use the app on my phone if I need to see a note when I leave my rM at home. Yes, there's a LiveBeta to see your notes being written in real time, but sometimes it has worked for me sometimes it hasn't.
I personally use the Marker more than the Marker Plus. I think it's because I got used to the Marker first and trained myself to use the eraser selection tool rather than the physical eraser.
I know this seems so random. How many squares across and down on the s dot? I've only ever used the Leuchtturm 1917 for BUJO. I'm curious the dot comparison. Also, I would love to be working on some brainstorming spreads before it arrives.
Dots S Portrait: 44 down, 30 across with the side bar visible, 32 across with the side bar tucked in. Dots S Landscape: 34 down, 41 across with the side bar visible, 43 across with the side bar tucked in. Grid Small Portrait: 36 down, 25 across with the side bar visible, 27 across with the side bar tucked in. I'm sure you can purchase other templates that are dots or grids if the one you want doesn't exist within the RM2 currently.
Love the video. Practical on how to use the device and start off organized. Please add more as you find née things to share! Curious - how did you become interested in Morse Code?
Effective, concise video...thank you for posting. I'm new here, so please forgive me if the answer to this question is elsewhere in your videos... I see you writing over previously drawn characters, without modifying them. Is there a 'locked' setting that allows you to do this, or is it simply overwriting a file's contents without saving the additions? This feature appeals as electronic tracing exercises for my granddaughter to practice her motor skills in an efficient (albeit costly) way. What price a life skill, well learned, though, eh? :-) Plus, I like the graphical tie-in to the morse code alphabet. Anything that helps with association.
The answer is: the maximum number of layers is 5, which I feel is a bit meagre for a device in this class, and restrictive for my purposes and intent. On the basis of ‘you don’t get what you don’t ask for’, I’ve put in a feature request for more available layers. It’s not a new feature, just an expansion of one that already exists in the machine. Maybe if enough people ask, then ReMarkable might provide.
Thanks for sharing! Your get away drawing is super cool :) Nice eyes on the rice bowl. I am still trying to figure out the best way to organise my folders. I am thinking a "Work" and "Personnal" is a good start. Do you move file from your "Daily" folder at the end of the day? For example you take notes during a meeting and then at the end of the day you would move it to your "Work" folder for example? Haha I should hurry my quicksheet just passed 100 sheets T_T PS:thanks for your previous writing tips. I write in capital letters and keep the letters with same space and hight (consistency).
Thank you. "Work" and "Personal" is absolutely a good start! No, I think that would be too much work for me to move Notebooks every day, but I understand what you're getting at. In my "Daily" Folder I currently have four Notebooks: - "COVID-19" journal - "1 January 2021" bullet journal hybrid - "12 December 2020" from the past month - "Dreams" I plan to continue January through December 2021 and think of "Daily" as a personal calendar/ journal/ mini goal tracker. This would probably be similar to what you'd call your "Personal." Within my "Work" Folder, I have six Notebooks so far: - My week at a glance using the template "Weekplanner 2." I like the option to keep track of the week of the year. - A Work Pad for miscellaneous things using "Lined Small" - Resume Pad to keep track of skills I've learned or accomplishments - General knowledge I need for work like company stats, earnings, holiday schedule, etc. - 2021 work goals and targets to hit. Sort of like a game plan page. - Knowledge I need to do my job well I'm planning on adding more per each client, but I'm trying to keep things as simple as possible. Now is a great time to move some of your Quick Sheets notes! It's not too late. I've already deleted pages that weren't helpful or the direction I wanted to go to keep organized. There's so much you can do with it. Thanks for sharing and I hope your organization goes well!
I haven't been using my rM daily anymore, but I use it multiple times a week. My recent needs have been for reading notes, project management/ coordination, and Toastmasters speeches.
Have you had any issues sending emails/sharing documents from your reMarkable? I have five files I’ve the past 30 hours and none of them went through 🥺🥴🧐
Personally, I had always taken notes during lectures. Writing things down helps me to remember things more precisely. The only other situation I could think of is if you need to "command F" to find things quickly, you wouldn't be able to do that with handwriting.
@@Monsty Thank you so much for responding. I'm doing a Master and I need to improve my note taking process to stop relying on my memory but I believe this is too expensive to use it only for that. It's $700 AUD! 😨
I have been BUJO since March 2017. I looked at the RM a couple of years ago. I convinced myself that I needed color. After watching your videos and seeing how you highlight and create ways to make heads I'm sold. I noticed that you opted out of getting the new marker with built in eraser was there any particular reason why? Also, do you plan on doing anymore videos on the RM2?
Funny you say that, my new Marker just arrived yesterday. Work has been incredibly busy for me but I'm planning to make a video soon. I also want to do a follow up on how I'm using it.
Hi @Montsy, this video is so addictive so much variety! My rM2 has become my second brain and has re-sparked the wonder years - would be cool to do a collab with you re: learning and the rM2. Cheers!😊
There seem to be some helpful people here, Monsty included, so just reaching out to ask that I got mine not long ago, it's writing fine on quicksheets but not at all on notebook pages. Just trying to unravel what I'm dong wrong??
That's strange. Have you tried a lot of troubleshooting? I know people joke about this, but have you turned it off and on? Have you tried creating new Notebook pages? I'm wondering if one of them might have been corrupt. If nothing works, you should reach out to reMarkable.
I’m still using and enjoying it. I do recommend the rM if you currently use a lot of physical notebooks. It will most likely be another thing you don’t use if you don’t already take notes like this.
The grayscale idea is great! I like how you actually show how you use it. Is there a capability of importing a PDF, and use that as a template everytime you take notes?
There are templates that you can purchase online - I'm unsure if they're in pdf format. I believe they're on git, Etsy, and some other sites. I'll let everyone know if I decide to create my own templates for download.
Templates are a little tricky, as custom templates not officially supported. The quick and dirty solution is to upload a PDF to your device and make a new duplicate/copy of it every time you want to use it as a pseudo-template. You're not actually making a notebook this way though, you're annotating a PDF, so there is a little more work in managing the files on your device, but it does preserve the PDF background if you sync to the phone or desktop app. You can also zoom and scroll if you're using a large template that doesn't fit well on a single page. There are some 3rd party programs that allow you to upload actual templates to the device, the downside being you can only export from the device. If you like to use the phone or desktop app the template itself will be missing when you view it there, and you'll just see the writing. The upside is that you don't have to duplicate anything when you want to use it, and as a proper template you can create an actual notebook where it will automatically appear on every new page.
Great review. From my research so far before I intend to buy. Shaded of gray? No idea yet. Pros Not backlit. Great for me. Super thin, light and portable Easy on the eyes!!!! This is by far the biggest selling point of e books people. Forr those of you that have no idea and ask... why not use the iPAD? Pls don't compare. More fun than paper but paper is cheaper Comes with the pencil on paper sound Battery life is good as two weeks. Pen does not need to be charged. Apple and Microsoft take note. I hate bluetooth because I work in IT and I know how unhealthy it is so avoid it as much as possible. Password lock mode Easy to upload files to it. Can switch to landscape mode. I think this both auto and manual? Cons No dictionary or grammar checker. Would have been great You are right. You cant purchase anything separately. I checked as well prior to me ordering and looking at this video. Very silly! It put me off purchasing. Extra bits for the stylus are expensive and add up No mini SD for extra storage. No idea why no Ebook readers come with this as an option. Only 8G storage. Should be 32GB min. You actually only et 6.4GB even though they state 8GB. Not enough. People complaining about some issues like jagged lines and not getting responses. Premium cost, premium support but not apparently not the case. Hopefully will get better Only 226 DPI. Latest Kindle 300 DPI Pen on the side when stored. I agree. Design flaw. I agree with comment here you can purchase a case on Amazon for half the price and get a place for pen. All magnetized as well. No MP3 or read my ebook option like the first gen Kindles. Very expensive for what you get in my opinion. Should be about $200 less. I heard you cant do a search on text that you write. I believe this is when you convert. Silly. Formats for files is not that great either. Only two formats supported. PDF being the important one for me and .epub. What about .mobi. docs, etc. Not supported. Silly Screen size is good. Ebook suffers from ghosting so needs to flash at times to clear screen. The good news is you can do this manually yourself if you want and i believe also set the level in terms of how many layers. Expensive for what you could use paper for Replacement tips. I wish they never had to be replaced. Not waterproof. This does not interest me and as I don't intend to go diving with this :-) but some people might want this Not colour. Colour ebooks are available. Onyx for example do one but display too small for me. Will I buy it? Love to but not for the price. Might wait for sale. App is very basic. Cant do editing or even check a box. No Internet access. Just for updates. Does not sync with OneNote. I use OneNote for everything Can I password protect specific pages? Not to my knowledge. What about backup if the system crashes? Nothing in the cloud right. On ho. All my life notes lost. Can you organise your notes like OneNote? No idea. Waiting for 3rd version. If they give me more of what I need, I will buy. Definitely. Give me a colour version with improved DPI I'd be sold. A tad limited to me in what you can do for price

You can search whatever you name your Folders, Notebooks, PDFs, and Ebooks. Not the handwriting you have within your notebooks. However, if you have a lot of writing within a Notebook and want to specifically find a certain word, you could "Convert to text and send," then look it up by text (command f it) on your computer.

WOW after 3 years + this is the only video that shows you how to create files but more importantly how to organize them. Not even reMarkable was able to do this effectively. Question: Once you pick a template looks like you are not able to change it to a different template or mix them up for example page 1 with dots and page 2 with lines etc?
Thanks for the tip on creating folders to organize. I had not done that, and I have 1 big pile of notebooks as a result.
I keep repeatedly replay that part to see how she's able to do it and wonder if I can do that on kindle scribe
@@hieromonk120 it's not clear if the greyed out Japanese characters are actually on a different layer (the one just on top of the lined or whatever template she's using) and if she's using a different layer on top of that to trace the same (in black for practicing). you can do that on reMarkable (both rM1 & 2) so you can turn individual layers' visibility on/off or even modify/ clear the entire layer (without affecting the others). no idea if Kindle Scribe supports layers, but if you can upload pdf's and annotate those, you should be able to achieve the same. the pdf (base layer) remains unchanged as you scribble and erase notes on top (practice makes perfect, innit?)
cheers! have a good one (& best wishes for 2023)
@@tibigi1204 yes I wish she would also teach us where to get or how to make those pdf or that templet stuff
Concise, well done.
Hi @Monsty
Did you felt the need to buy their Connect plan ? does the storage from the device suffice ? for example, those folders that you have,(you said you are creating daily "lists") how much space do they take. Thanks a lot and sorry for my English
Your English is great.
I didn't buy the Connect plan. It wasn't an option when I had first bought my rM2. I currently don't have a plan because I think the storage has plenty of space. My current storage is at 1.25GB out of 6.41GB.
@@Monsty sounds like it is enough. nice ! thank you very very much for these info and for your review. it helped me decide!:)
I have probably watched over 50 TH-camrs discussion the RM2. You were the first one I found to be very helpful. I have several questions--do you provide private lessons? Thank you.
Your doodles are like major works of art!
Remarkable is on its way to me in Vietnam. Thanks for these videos , they look very helpful !
I had an iPad Pro but for some reason I still want one of these.
Two completely diff devices.
I got mine today. It’s amazing! I have all Apple devices and no one is like Remarkable 2. No distractions, easy to take notes, and more...
Samee 😩😩
You can get $40 off using my code. It’s located in my “About” section. :)
Well Done! Enjoyable to watch :)
Awesome tips, thank you very much!
This was such a helpful video! I'm considering getting a ReMarkable and this was a great help for me 😁
How has the device kept up? Software & hardware wise.
It looks great I must definitely get it
Hey
Thanks for the review.
Planning to buy it .. short and elaborated way to show how to use it ..
sumple great and understandable videos. Succesfully convinced me to buy this for my first job as a landscape architect :)
I think I would go crazy with that in my documents because I love to draw fish and flowers... they would be everywhere in my work I'm sure.
excellent ! any source for the method you show to learn Morse ?
th-cam.com/video/m6JVPQJOfrc/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for your video! I’m trying to figure out how to get the device to open to a certain page every single time (it’s a quick sheet). In other words, I want my to do list to be the first thing that I see when I turn it on. Any ideas?
If you're not fully turning it off every time, the page you left it on before clicking it to sleep should be the first thing you see.
If you create a Notebook, you can specify if you want the Notebook Cover to be the "Last page visited" or the "First page." Perhaps you could create a new Notebook where the cover is always the "First page" for your to do list.
@@Monsty Thank you so much for your response! I appreciate you.
Remarkable looks very great, I am looking a tablet for just taking notes..however I like to be very clean in writing..very high resolution like a fineliner.. but I also like to use different colors.
Brilliant! How to create that writing practice in gray scale, please?
I used the Grid Large Portrait template, the Paintbrush, Thin stroke, Gray color and drew each of the characters carefully. Click the second to bottom icon that looks like a stack of papers > Click "Add layer" > On Layer 2 make sure the Eye is visible > Select your color as Black. Draw over your gray characters to practice.
Great review!, Do you know if this can be linked with some services as google drive to storage?
Hi I'm just buying a remarkable 2 can u show how u trace the letters for practice and how u did it
I have a video on Layers that you can watch here: th-cam.com/video/rofMnJXkWj0/w-d-xo.html

thanks for showing files and folders....
I’m thinking to buy this for my mother. She is going to read a lot of PDF files, The normal tablet makes her eyes tired,
1)Do you find that your eyes reacts to this tablet as if it’s a paper?
@@Monsty Thank you very much for the answer 🌟
@@Monsty 6gb seems very little.
@@Taydiablo3 I thought so too, but I've added quite a few EBooks on there and haven't stopped making new Notes or Notebooks. I have more than enough space.
Just received my remarkable 2 and I find it hard to read. It's not very bright and I wondering if this can be adjusted?
Do you have a referral link to purchase a Remarkable2?
Check out the About section on my channel.
Super helpful thx
The Morse code template is really good. Do you have a PDF you could share?
As of now I haven't made any pdfs. Everything I show is drawn by hand. I'll be sure to let everyone know if I decide to make some templates of my own.
Hi Cool video! what are your thoughts on the Marker plus compared to the none eraser marker? is it worth it?
I personally use the Marker more than the Marker Plus. I think it's because I got used to the Marker first and trained myself to use the eraser selection tool rather than the physical eraser.
Best review video quite remarkable since it wasn't a review
@@Monsty Thank you so much. This information is EXTREMELY helpful!!!
Can you hide the menu on the left? so that you have a blank page?
Yes, the button on the top left will remove the side panel. The panel can also be moved if you use the left-handed settings.
Love the video. Practical on how to use the device and start off organized. Please add more as you find née things to share!
Curious - how did you become interested in Morse Code?
My phone seems to always prefer née to new.
I think it's interesting and my late grandfather was a Morse code operator in the merchant marines.
That was extremely helpful
Here's your typical and common 'you're gorgeous' comment.
I'm so jealous of your writing.
Plus, I like the graphical tie-in to the morse code alphabet. Anything that helps with association.
I get it now....layers...
Any idea what the maximum number of layers a notebook can have?
The layers are helpful. I don't know the max amount you can have. That's a great idea to help your granddaughter learn.
Haha I should hurry my quicksheet just passed 100 sheets T_T
PS:thanks for your previous writing tips. I write in capital letters and keep the letters with same space and hight (consistency).
Thank you. "Work" and "Personal" is absolutely a good start!
No, I think that would be too much work for me to move Notebooks every day, but I understand what you're getting at.
In my "Daily" Folder I currently have four Notebooks:
- "COVID-19" journal
- "1 January 2021" bullet journal hybrid
- "12 December 2020" from the past month
- "Dreams"
I plan to continue January through December 2021 and think of "Daily" as a personal calendar/ journal/ mini goal tracker. This would probably be similar to what you'd call your "Personal."
Within my "Work" Folder, I have six Notebooks so far:
- My week at a glance using the template "Weekplanner 2." I like the option to keep track of the week of the year.
- A Work Pad for miscellaneous things using "Lined Small"
- Resume Pad to keep track of skills I've learned or accomplishments
- General knowledge I need for work like company stats, earnings, holiday schedule, etc.
- 2021 work goals and targets to hit. Sort of like a game plan page.
- Knowledge I need to do my job well
I'm planning on adding more per each client, but I'm trying to keep things as simple as possible.
Now is a great time to move some of your Quick Sheets notes! It's not too late. I've already deleted pages that weren't helpful or the direction I wanted to go to keep organized. There's so much you can do with it. Thanks for sharing and I hope your organization goes well!
This is really helpful! Are you still using your remarkable daily?
I haven't been using my rM daily anymore, but I use it multiple times a week. My recent needs have been for reading notes, project management/ coordination, and Toastmasters speeches.
Miss your videoes ❤!wondering if you are going back to pen paper?
Hey! Do you have a referral link?!
I don't believe reMarkable has any referrals. You can buy it directly from their website.
When you write can you rest your hand on the device or will that mess up the writing?
You can rest your hand down on the rM just like you would paper.
Ηi! How did you add the snowflake?
I drew the snowflake, used the selection tool, then selected copy (two squares icon), then click where you'd like to paste.
Have you had any issues sending emails/sharing documents from your reMarkable? I have five files I’ve the past 30 hours and none of them went through 🥺🥴🧐
I haven't had issues. Both the Sent by Email and Convert to Text and Send are working for me.
Can we connect pendrive and HDD or SSD with this ?
The only opening the rM has is for the charger. You can add info like pdfs through your computer wirelessly.
Would you recommend this for taking notes for my lectures? I don't draw nor sketch.
When I look at the sheets they look grey like the cover of my new Remarkable. Can I change the sheets to look bright white?
It does have a slightly grey color. I don't believe the background can be changed, but maybe the reMarkable creators could answer your question.
Can you put folders inside the folders?
Yes.
@@Monsty great. Thank you
I have been BUJO since March 2017.
Can you use remarkable with spreadsheet formats?
I'm sure there's a template that looks like a spreadsheet out there. What are you looking to do?
How is your remarkable 2 holding up and do you recommend someone buying one?
This is only in black and white correct, no color at all?
Correct - there's black, white, and grey. The purpose of the RM for me is to eliminate distractions, so I intentionally wanted no color.
Great review. From my research so far before I intend to buy. Shaded of gray? No idea yet.
Pros
Not backlit. Great for me.
Super thin, light and portable
Easy on the eyes!!!! This is by far the biggest selling point of e books people. Forr those of you that have no idea and ask... why not use the iPAD? Pls don't compare.
More fun than paper but paper is cheaper
Comes with the pencil on paper sound
Battery life is good as two weeks.
Pen does not need to be charged. Apple and Microsoft take note. I hate bluetooth because I work in IT and I know how unhealthy it is so avoid it as much as possible.
Password lock mode
Easy to upload files to it.
Can switch to landscape mode. I think this both auto and manual?
Cons
No dictionary or grammar checker. Would have been great
You are right. You cant purchase anything separately. I checked as well prior to me ordering and looking at this video. Very silly! It put me off purchasing.
Extra bits for the stylus are expensive and add up
No mini SD for extra storage.
Hopefully will get better
Only 226 DPI. Latest Kindle 300 DPI
Pen on the side when stored.
Silly
Screen size is good.
Ebook suffers from ghosting so needs to flash at times to clear screen. The good news is you can do this manually yourself if you want and i believe also set the level in terms of how many layers.
Expensive for what you could use paper for
Replacement tips. I wish they never had to be replaced.
Not waterproof. This does not interest me and as I don't intend to go diving with this :-) but some people might want this
Not colour. Colour ebooks are available. Onyx for example do one but display too small for me.
Will I buy it? Love to but not for the price. Might wait for sale.
App is very basic. Cant do editing or even check a box.
No Internet access. Just for updates.
Does not sync with OneNote. I use OneNote for everything
Can I password protect specific pages? Not to my knowledge.
What about backup if the system crashes? Nothing in the cloud right. On ho. All my life notes lost.
Can you organise your notes like OneNote? No idea.
Waiting for 3rd version. If they give me more of what I need, I will buy. Definitely. Give me a colour version with improved DPI I'd be sold. A tad limited to me in what you can do for price
Lol I did Japanese and Morse code practices on my reMarkable 1 too
I love the Japanese and want it on my rM! How can I get it? By the way, awesome video!!
There are probably practice templates out there, but I made that one.
You said you made the practice sheet for the letters.. How did you do that? I have an idea of something I would like to grayscale for practice on my RM2
@@zipmangaming657 I used the Grid Large Portrait template, the Paintbrush, Thin stroke, Gray color and drew each of the characters carefully. Draw over your gray characters to practice.
Duuude you must do draw with me videos because WOW!
good video, thx
Can you search for notes on the tablet?
You can search whatever you name your Folders, Notebooks, PDFs, and Ebooks. Not the handwriting you have within your notebooks. However, if you have a lot of writing within a Notebook and want to specifically find a certain word, you could "Convert to text and send," then look it up by text (command f it) on your computer.
So disappointed that you have so few videos!! Your quality is awesome. Still, sub'ed, in the hope that you'll come out of your shell and produce more content at some point.
