  • Some weeks are just quieter than others. Just a few birds here and there, doing birdy things. I like these quiet, peaceful moments. Soon enough, everything will be hopping again. For now, though, the quiet is nice.
Birds in this week's video: Carolina Chickadee, Tufted Titmouse, Northern Cardinal, and American Goldfinch.
Thanks for watching! Stay safe out there and I'll see you next week!

They probably enjoy not having all those pesky summer birds around 🙂

My 3.75 yr old granddaughter 3:49 identified the titmouse when it was still on the far right of the screen. Just a blur to me!
Thank you for sharing this peaceful time🙏

    Lovely little Chickadees 🥰.
Do you see the various woodpeckers come to the water much? Is it more difficult for the bigger ones to drink from shallow water with their longer beaks? And then too, their feet are made more for clinging and gripping than walking?
    Have a good week!! 🥰♥️

I had a bunch of different types of woodpeckers coming to the stream to drink while we were having a drought this summer. But they haven’t been back since. A few flickers have stopped by but they’re more built for being on the ground. I think it is more an issue with them being uncomfortable on the ground. I think when there is a normal amount of rain, they drink water that collects in tree cavities. I saw a woodpecker dipping its head into a hole in the side of a tree once and I think that’s what it was doing.

Thanks! I have several older model GoPro Hero 5 Black cameras that I use at the water features to get these nice close ups.
