OK, lady...your channel just popped into my algorithm, AND I AM HOOKED😊😊😊 I am a watercolor LOVER /amateur, and I loved this video. I subscribed before the video was finished😮😅. So nice to "meet" you and hope to see lots more. Great video, beautiful work!!! Thank you, Dawn in Georgia🍑
Loving your vids!! Heads up, painting the covers of Etchr Lab sketchbooks with heavy body acrylic is an awesome thing. 😉🙌🏼 And... I too LOVE LOVE LOVE crunchy painted pages.
Ooooh I will have to try that if I ever buy one again! The paper is nice and the quality is great, I just hate the white fabric and how it feels. blehhhh hahah!! Thank you for watching and commenting!! xo
Just found your channel, glad this is the first video i see. Feels to go on a journey to get to know you. Love your explanations, superlove your style and way to explore the colours. ❤️❤️❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I love these sketchbooks and how you experiment and play in them. It’s inspiring me. I’m learning a lot from your videos today. Thank you so much for sharing
Thank you for the in depth tour of your sketchbooks. I love the "peek behind the curtain." I really hope you make a book of your favorites like you mentioned in the beginning. :)
So great! I love seeing all your palette choices, and really enjoyed your art and narrative. Especially Inktober when you tipped the wagon over and lit it on fire 🤭
HAHA Never again with the Inktober! I always have the best intentions, but you know what they say about that! Thank you for watching and commenting! xo
What a brilliant idea! Both of those things are embedded throughout my workshops, but it would be so cool to have a workshop dedicated to them!! Thanks, love it!!
So fun to see all of your sketchbooks! I was just in Preston for a week visiting my son and his family. We love it there. You talked about your kidney transplant and trips to Salt Lake. I’m currently awaiting for qualification for a double lung transplant in Salt Lake. I think I too will be painting a lot when it happens. I’m enjoying your videos! Thank you for sharing!
I haven’t yet! I am not sure I want to ever re cover a sketchbook again because I ended up weakening the spine. If I could find a better way I will make a video!
I really enjoyed seeing all your sketchbooks. You are very talented. I also love Etchr the best! I would sure love to know how you make your sketchbooks and cover them with PU leather. I am very fond of Stoneground Paint Co gouache! Have you tried them?
Hello, I buy it in packs of 10 full sheets from Jerry’s Artarama! I now offer samples on my website though if you want to try it without the investment! Www.Ashleyhawkeswatercolor.com
I hear you girl!! I often get asked if I have ever modeled, played basketball, ran track...and while I CAN do those things, they don't interest me. Then they look at me like my height and long legs are just a waste of space. haha I did enjoy a bit of church volleyball though!
I can totally understand how that could be discouraging! I’m a bit of a color nerd, but if that isn’t for you, you do you! I love how many convenience colors are available out there! Thanks for your comment!

Thank you so much!
Hi Ashley. Could you do some workshops on swatching and mixing? I would love to learn!
What a brilliant idea! Both of those things are embedded throughout my workshops, but it would be so cool to have a workshop dedicated to them!!
Thanks, love it!!
@@ashleyhawkeswatercolor I just LOVE your color enthusiasm and like you said, it's an art in and of itself!

Oh very cool! I wonder if I know your son! We love it here although winters are a challenge! Thanks for watching and commenting! 💗
I hope your transplant goes well!
Did you ever make a video on you recovering your sketchbooks
I haven’t yet! I am not sure I want to ever re cover a sketchbook again because I ended up weakening the spine. If I could find a better way I will make a video!

Damn I wish I could inherit some artist grade watercolors 😅😅
Right?!? I still pinch myself!!
Never heard of soft pressed. Where do you purchase this? Thanks!

I am 6 feet tall. All the coaches chased me, but I can only play volleyball.

@ashleyhawkeswatercolor By the time I got to college, I learned to eat first and then talk sports. I never got a 2nd meeting.
Love your video but why all the science of mixing colors? It is discouraging. I love my colors as I go along with my painting.
I can totally understand how that could be discouraging! I’m a bit of a color nerd, but if that isn’t for you, you do you! I love how many convenience colors are available out there! Thanks for your comment!
