I knew Marky didn’t like to wear shoes, but I didn’t know about the socks mechanic. Was it carried over into the later entries with MLB licensing? Namely, with the Boston Red Sox and Chicago White Sox? How about the original “Backyard Soccer”? One of the team name options in that game is Boots.
Ricky and Ernie were actually some of the best hitters for me on my team. Ernie and Ricky would actually hit dingers when I needed them to. I remember we were against the Fishes down 5-3 and Ricky tied it with a dinger when I got Tony at 2nd base and Ernie won us the game by blasting the ball. This list is good but Ernie Steele and Ricky Johnson are underrated IMO.
Maybe they had some unusually lucky plays for you, but Ricky's power is 4th worst in the game and Ernie is very slow and has poor contact. That's crazy that you got a homer with Ricky though, I don't think I've pulled that off myself.
I always put Ronnie on my team. He's got a cannon for an arm and I put him either on the mound as a reliever, or at 2nd base. My team, the Blue Melonheads, had the following lineup: Pablo Dimitri Kenny Achmed Ronnie Kiesha Luanne Jorge Ernie We went undefeated, won the championship, and Pablo had a 1.000 average that season. Setting was on the hardest setting.
My uncle and my dad played backyard football and baseball growing up and my uncle was cracked with cootie he was showing me and my cousin the other day and he said “just swing closed power” then he hammers a 489 foot bomb over center with no power ups
Having Ernie in the top 10 worst players is a crime. Yes, he's slow but he's a pretty damned good hitter. i've also experimented having him close out games as pitcher for me when I play 9 inning mode and Kenny gets tired. It worked well. Ernie Steele is a solid player.

While she can't hit for power very well at all, I had great luck with hitting grounders with Gretchen. Her batting average was .667! I used her at SS, so she wouldn't have to throw too far. I consider Sally and Marky to be 'vampiric' players, as they gain strength at the expense of their teammates.
I pretty much agree, although I have a soft spot for Gretchen. I constructed a purposely awful team, and she was actually a bright spot with her excellent pitching. This isn't saying much, since passable pitchers are a dime a dozen, but that skill combined with her not-terrible speed would save her from the worst place on my own list.
It would be dramatically different. Jorge received the only direct buff (Pablo and Pete getting the other changes in nerfs) but 2001/2003 has a different physics system that changes things around Batting & Throwing (and displayed ratings for Pitching). All kids with bad arms or good Contact get much worse, while kids like Ronny with his Power bat getting much better. Jorge is definitely the best in the change as his strong arm is more valuable and his Power got an actual strong buff.
Billy Jean Blackwood is kinda two-faced for me on here. She kinda raked for me when I picked her in Backyard Sports, but that was without Marky on my team.
I didn't mind playing with Gretchen, because speed is so important. I usually slot her into 2B and behind someone else fast in the lineup and it works mostly well. For my money, Kimmy Eckman and Billie Jean Blackwood are the worst because they have no speed and i struggle to lift the ball much with either

Kind of? Luanne can actually manage to get some decent hits in _despite_ her build. Vicki is so bad at batting that she's offensively *useless* unless you tee up, which you can't do on the road. No defensive advantage can make up for that, and even then, you can still get a good defense with those saddled with worse defensive stats.
I've always have a soft spot for Gretchen. Maybe it's the name and blonde-blue-eyed combo. Same with Jorge Garcia. Reminds me of that kid who gets picked last due to his "non-atheletic pencil-pushing" appearance.
OK this may be a little weird, but I honestly think Marky he isn’t that bad he has pretty good batting, and sometimes he can pitch despite his one running. I think he’s a pretty average player not the worst, but not the best.
Just finished 2001 with a W on gard no errors. It plays a hell of a lot different.. Also are you serious about the combinations on these characters like the Dobbs siblings and the twins? Is this found out in the character lines or are you just ad-libbing?

I haven't played those as much, it seems like there's a lot more really good characters so that makes it hard. We'll see if I ever feel inspired but it's not in the works yet
I can't believe this Gretchen slander. Put her at first base and she catches everything and rarely has need to throw. Once you learn her strike zone is absolutely unfair and come to terms with it, consistently hitting with her becomes easier. Granted, she's still not very good but she is definitely better than Kimmy who, can't run and can't hit and can't catch the ball. Kimmy has two things: a big arm and power, but she can't utilize either because her contact is atrocious and so is her ability to field the ball.
@@longballhq3128 Yeah, her bat is terrible. Her contact is much better than Kimmy. For me, it really was just a matter of learning what was and wasn't a strike. Because her strike zone is unfair, I would take what looks like a ball and get called for a strike and then just start swinging at everything. Once I learned that, it helped to lock in mentally and not get frustrated by the balls and strikes calls. I don't know if this is helpful to you or not however, but that's how I got better with her. A possible strategy is to bat with power to offset her noodle arms, but I find sticking with line drive to be best. Where Gretchen really shines is at first base, because she rarely has to throw her arm strength isn't a liability there. She has decent speed and never misses when you throw the ball to her. I think that if Kim and Gretchen were fused into one person, they would actually be a decent player.

One placement on this list that suprises me is Jorge below Marky. Marky has 57/100 Power and 49/100 Contact(while, at the same time, being a 1/4 in running/the slowest tier). Where as, on the other hand, Jorge has 58/100 Contact and 31/100 Power(while, at the same time, being a 2/4 in Running, or the second slowest tier). Considering how you value Contact allot, like with Lisa being below Reese despite Lisa having more power, and also speed, I'm suprised that Jorge is below Marky. It may be his chop swing, for Jorge's placement.

ernie is an honest to god power hitter...in the gba version that is...to be honest everyone is better in the gba 2001 version. kimmy becomes a powerhitter and a god tier catcher on my all girls team due to the ai wanting to steal all the time, gretchen is a bit useless still, she cant catch
@@longballhq3128 the gba version is kinda weird, because ernie's boost from playing at steele stadium adds 6 random skill balls, and sometimes all 6 of those go into his speed, same with kimmy in eckman acres which means......bunting with ernie and kimmy can be possible for getting a base, and thats wild
I really enjoyed watching this. With the exception of a few placements, which I'll get to, I think this is an good list! I'm glad you, unlike allot of those journalists, actually played around with the characters instead of judging them based off the stats the game gave you. I think Lisa and Reese's placements should be swapped. Lisa is literally better than Reese in everything except for contact hitting(and, at the same time, Lisa has more power than Reese). From both my experiences playing the game myself(and looking at the internal spreadsheet): Lisa is the same speed as Reese, she has about the same glove but a much better arm than Reese(so she's a better fielder), she has much better stamina than Reese(Reese has a 14/100 stamina while Lisa has a 78/100 stamina, which means she can run, throw, and pitch for allot longer than him), she's a better pitcher than him(on top of having more stamina for more innings, she has more "good" pitches than him), and on top of that she's also a better hitter than him(although her contact is slightly worse with a 15/100 compared to his 20-something, she has a good bit more power wirh 67/100 over his 46/100). If you ask me, she doesn't deserve to be on this list(let alone below Reese). I'd also argue Ronny's and Kimmy's placements should be swapped. Here's why I think that: Ronny is faster than Kimmy(Kimmy has a 34/100 speed while Ronny has a 54, or 56 its something in the 50's), Ronny is better at fielding than Kimmy(both of their gloves are about the same, yet Ronny has a better arm), Ronny has better stamina than Kimmy(she has a 32/100 stamina rating while he has a 51/100 stamina rating, so he can run, throw, and pitch for longer than she can), Ronny's also a better pitcher than Kimmy. The only thing Kimmy can say is that she's slightly better at batting than Ronny(she has a 72/100 power rating while he has a 86/100 power rating, but she has a 45/100 contact rating while he has a 22/100 contact rating). If you ask me, I don't think having about 20 extra points in contact(while, at the same time, having less power in that same stat) is worthy of placing 2 spots above a character. With those critiques out of the way, I enjoyed watching!
thanks for the detailed reply. I'm aware of the spreadsheet, I didn't rely on it for my rankings however. I went by my own success with players based on over 100 plate appearances. The players I ranked higher performed better for me. I guess contact makes the difference after all. I definitely believe power, contact and speed are by far the most valuable in the game
Your welcome! Also, I already knew that you ranked these on your own time, and not by the sheet. However, if you ever decide to look back on these lists, both this one and the best characters lists, I'd recommend you at or atleast somewhat go off of the spreadsheet (to prevent cases/takes like Reese being above Lisa, despite Lisa being better at literally everything than Reese). I'm pretty sure there's a saying for what I'm saying but I forgot it, I'd also say that because it's kinda luck based how good you'll do with a character. There may be a season where a player does extremely well, and then another season where they do extremely bad in. Also, there could be the chance that a player could have gotten a hidden increase/decrease when you were testing them. Although, at the end of the day it is your list and all, I'm just trying to give possible recommendations. With that out of the way, do you plan on making a video on the 10 most "average"/"middle" players? Players that weren't on either of these lists. For myself, I personally believe speed(most important of all), power, contact, arm strength, and stamina are the most important. If I ever did a list of the characters like this it'd probably be a good bit different cause I value pitching, stamina, and fielding more than you do.
@@thecrk9201 Reese is better at contact, so not literally everything. He's also got a small strikezone and I'm pretty sure his hit trajectory is more favorable, which I don't know if that shows up on the spread sheet - I'm not seeing it. I don't think it's that open and shut. If players get a boost it usually won't last more than a game, so not going to skew the results too much. Hard to care about defense and pitching for me when the cpu never really scores runs anyway
Sorry, I was saying "better at everything" by saying that Lisa is better at the main 4 stat points(Batting, Running, Pitching and Fielding, I said that she was better at Batting when you compare both contact and power). Also, I don't really notice what you're talking about, from playing the game myself, in how Reese has a more 'favorable' hit trajectory. It might be just, like I was saying earlier, RNG on my side but I don't really notice it. Also, I can kind see what you're talking about on stat boosts/reductions(although it may impact the results a bit, it probably won't impact it too much). Also ,just wondering, what difficulty setting do you have it on? At least from my experiences playing on hard, good fielders aren't entirely useless if the AI hits it. I'm sorry but, at least to me, it gets annoying when fielders have poor arms that can't make it in time(Luanne, Reese, Angela, Gretchen, ect's arms for example, although this version of the game makes it so their arms aren't that bad), or when they drop it. For pitching, I half agree and half disagree. Yeah, most players can pitch at least somewhat decently, but it definitely helps if you have a good pitcher(one that has good, or preferably better stamina, a good arm to throw out grounders, and at least 2 good pitches that have accuracy). It might be just a difference in what we consider makes a 'good' player, but I don't think fielding, and to a lesser extent pitching, should be taken out of consideration(at least to me, I respect the opinion if you disagree, which you obviously do).
@@thecrk9201 fair enough. I always play on hard. I'm pretty confident about the trajectory thing. the Khan's for example get a lot of air, so does Angela. Low trajectory players that come to mind: Anne Frazier and the Webbers.
Eh, it's hit-or-miss with them. At the very least, they can still stop the ball, which you'll definitely want if you're at Cement Gardens and the ball goes to left field.
I know Gretchen is the worst player, I really do, but she is my girlfriends favourite character, so she has to be in the team always, so we usually use her as a pitcher and hide her in the outfield. My girlfriend has a weird thing of liking the worst characters, but I'm not one to talk, I like Ronny and Jorge- xD

I did the same thing twice in the playoffs. The second one was in the Super Entire Nation Tournament, went 593 feet into right center, drove in 3 runs, and gave my team a 5-3 lead.
But someone who has a good glove isn’t useless. Excellent basemen makes it easier outs. But then again you have more than like 5 kids who have a good glove.

5:17 Ok, am I the only person who doesn't think Ronny(Incase you didn't notice, you misspelled Ronny's name in the section) is a bottom 10 character? Almost every list I've seen(your bottom 10, Dyno Mike's tier list, almost every Reddit/tier maker tier list I've seen, ect) has Ronny as one of the worst characters in the game. I don't get it. Although he's definitely not the best character, I'd say he's mediocre/a dishonorable mention to the bottom 10, he's far from being one of the worst, in my times playing. He's got really powerful bat, even if his contact may be bumpy, a cannon of an arm, and is a good pitcher. Although his glove and contact are both awful, and his speed is mediocre, he's got some good qualities. Which, atleast to me, definitely doesn't make him one of the worst in the game. It's auto chapters, the robot misspelled it. If he gets a hold of one it goes decently, but it's pretty rare. And he's slow enough to get thrown out on hits to the grass

From my experiences, it's either Ronny hits it far/a bomb, or he strikes out. Even when going line drive on a two strike count(tip: Although you may already know this, it's not really wise to go power on a 2 strike count. For whatever reason, the odds of making contact on a power swing is lower than one on a line drive swing. Unless they're super slow, I wouldn't recommend going power on a 2 strike count. Although I assume it also goes for 1997, it's how it was in 2001 and 2003.). I might have to do some more AB's with Ronny, to see if I'm just lucky, cause I still don't get what everyone's saying about him being awful.

Respect the opinions on(I think these don't belong): Sally Dobbs, Lisa Crocket(obviously), and Ronny Dobbs(even with the most recent AB's of mine, I still think he just barely gets out of my bottom 10). Dishonorable mentions: Ronny Dobbs(12th), and Maria Luna(13th). The first spot on my list is kind of confusing, because I think there's a three way tie between 11th, 10th, and 9th worst. Tied for 11th, 10th, or 9th: Marky Dubois. In a three way tie for the start of my list, we have Marky Dubois. The country boy has allot of personality, but not much talent. I'm gonna get the elephant of his main problem out of the room and deal with it later. On defense, he is actually decent. With a pretty reliable glove and a decent arm, he can do you good in the field. He's also a good pitcher. With great stamina, which can be useful outside of pitching, he can pitch for a good while without getting tired, and has some good pitches. However, on the other end, he is bad to mediocre on offense. His bat is well, averaged. With 57/100 power and I think either 45 or 49/100 contact, it's very well rounded. However, and the main reason why he's on here, he's so slow he'll be a clogger of the bases if he doesn't hit it out, or get on at all. Something that's also to note is that he gets a major nerf when playing as the socks. However, he gets a major buff when playing against them. Although it's not wise to plan around the games you play against the Socks in season play mode, if you play them at all, this can be useful if he's available and the computer is the Socks in single game mode. Another thing: although Billy Jean gets worse, Marky also gets a buff when Billy Jean is his teammate. Like Sally with Ronny, Marky's like two players: Marky with Billy Jean and or against the Socks, and Marky without either. Marky is definitely worthy of this list if he isn't with either Billy Jean or against the Socks. Tied for 11th, 10th, and 9th: Angela Delvecchio. Now, this is probably gonna be controversial, because of how much the community adores her and how many lists I've seen that put her in high/elite tier, but I respect the opinions of the people who disagree. Back on to her stats, Angela, the younger brother of Tony, is like a flip flop. She can never make her mind on if she wants to be awful or really good at something. When it comes to offense, she is once again a flip flop. Although she can hit bombs, she'll probably never get to 1st if she hits a grounder. On defense, she can pitch really good, being the only other 4 ball pitcher other than Kenny, but she can't field the ball for crap when it's in play. Although she does have some decent strengths, I think her weaknesses are too much to get her out of being mentioned on my bottom 10. Although, I will say that she becomes extremely good when she's against her brother Tony Delvecchio in single play games. If the computer picks him, then she's a really good pick. Tied for 11th, 10th, and 9th: Ernie Steele. You're good ole boy Ernie is here, and he's kinda mediocre. On offense, he's mediocre. Although his power is decent, he has mediocre contact. Although not awful, he also has mediocre speed. On the field, Ernie's got a somewhat weak arm. Although, his main strength, he has a golden tier glove. With height and a legendary coordination stat, he can catch pretty much anything. With great stamina and decent pitches, Ernie's also a good pitcher. Something to also say is that he gets a really good boost at his home field, Steele Stadium. Out of him and Kimmy's home field boosts, for single games, I'd say he benefits more because his field is better, which a good lot of the community seems to agree with. Unfortunately, you can't play at Steele Stadium on Season play, so you won't see it on Season play. Although he's really good at his home field, I think he's worthy of this list without it. As I said, those 3 spots are tied, so they can go either way on my list. 8th: Sidney or Ashley Webber. This may be a weird one, because they were on my best list, but that was if they were together. Apart, they are pretty mediocre. When they're apart, they're ok at offense. Although they're bats are weak, they still have decent contact abilities. They also still have decent speed, which is nice. However, they are mediocre on the field. With abysmal gloves, don't put them in any important catching positions. Although, they're arms are decent. They're also decent pitchers, with legendary stamina but ok pitches. If you ask me, if you're gonna pick one of them, pick both of them. 7th: Ricky Johnson. As his card in 2001 and 2003 implies, it's pretty clear that Baseball just isn't Ricky's sport. One positive is that his speed is decent, which is nice. Although, he's definitely poor on offense. He has one of the worst bats in the entire game, with awful contact and power. On defense, he's somewhat decent. Although his arm isn't the best, he does have a really good glove. On the mound, he has great stamina and ok pitches, so he can be decent there. He's essentially a diet version of Lisa, Stephanie, and the Webber twins. 6th: Controversy alert! Amir Khan without Achmed. Amir...Amir...Amir. Although he's good with Achmed, he's just a league below most of the cast without his big brother. The only two things Amir has going for him is his pitching, which his pitching is somewhat mitigated with his stamina, and his good bat. His bat, 62/100 contact and 73/100 power, is good, which does help him. Although, at the same time, his speed is mediocre, so he can be a clogger of the bases. His fielding is also awful, with a poor-ish arm and bad glove. As a bonus, he also has really poor stamina, so he can't do much without getting tired. Although his bad stamina holds it back, I'll also say that he has decent pitches, so he's a decent pitcher. All in all, if you're gonna pick Amir, pick him with Achmed. If you want a pitcher who can hit bombs, I'd recommend picking Angela or maybe Ronny(although, Ronny's less consistent with his contact). Hopefully he can be better when he's older. 5th: Jorge Garcia. Commonly the top pick for the worst, with his 2/4 ratings, I don't think he's as bad as people say. Although he's definitely not good, he's definitely not the worst. His defense is somewhat of a strength. He, surprisingly, has a really good 79/100 arm. He also has a somewhat consistent glove. He also has good stamina, surprisingly. However, even with good stamina, he's a pretty mediocre pitcher, with no decent pitches. He's also got a poor bat, with a bad swing and bad bat power. His poor bat would be fine if his speed wasn't mediocre. Although he's definitely bad, he's definitely not the worst. 4th: Kimmy Eckman. Kimmy's a poor man's power hitter. Although she's got allot of spirit/heart, she's just a worse version of both Mikey Thomas and Ronny Dobbs. If she does have two things, they are her arm and power. However, with mediocre contact, she doesn't have the easiest time connecting. Although, it does go far when she can get a hold of it, never expect her to round the bases when it doesn't go out. As her card would imply, she has terrible speed which is tied for the worst in the game. As a further bonus, she has bad stamina and poor pitches, so her pitching can't even save her. She also has an awful glove in the field, which doesn't help her. Although, throughout her play style, there is one Silver lining, being her home field Eckman Acres. If she's playing there, on the single games mode, she becomes quite good. Unless you're on your 9th pick, and the computer has picked power hitters, and you go "oh, I don't have a power hitter yet!" I don't recommend her. 3rd: Billy Jean Blackwood. Billy Jean, Marky's love interest, stinks. If she has one thing it's her ability to make consistent contact. The problem, though, is that she has awful power, which means it doesn't usually go far. That would be fine if it wasn't for her having poor speed, which means that she usually doesn't get on in time. On the field, she has a decent arm, but a mediocre glove, although her height may be an advantage for her. She's also a bad pitcher, with mediocre stamina and only one good pitch. As a bonus, she also gets worse when Marky's on the same team. If Marky's on the same team, she'd be the worst player, but she's only 3rd worst without. Unless you really hate Jocinda and want a somewhat similar, but much worse, player or want to boost Marky, I wouldn't pick her. 2nd: Gretchen Hasselhoff. Another pick for the worst, Gretchen doesn't have much going for her. The two things that can be said for her: she has some speed and is a good/decent pitcher with decent stamina. Her fielding is probably one of the worst in the game, with the worst arm in the game and a ok glove. Her hitting is also bad, with below average power and terrible contact. Although she does have potential, she just isn't good. 1st/worst: Reese Worthington. Although only slightly, Reese Worthington is the worst player. If there's one thing to be said about him it's that his glove isn't awful. Although he drops allot because of his height, he can usually catch it if a short player is throwing it to him. Like Gretchen, another thing he can say is that he has some speed. Other than those two things, which he's only ok/average at, he's poor to awful at everything else. His arm is bad, his stamina is awful, and his bat is poor. Because of his stamina, his pitching is also bad. If you want a player like him, pick Vicki Kawaguchi.
Kimmy Eckman is easily the worst player in the game. She has a decent arm and decent contact power. Prettymuch everything else is trash. Jorge is has both better hitting power and throwing power than Kimmy (and those are the only things she does decently). He also tends to be better in most other areas too, including stamina. There is no way Jorge is below Kimmy.

Ricky and Ernie were actually some of the best hitters for me on my team. Ernie and Ricky would actually hit dingers when I needed them to. I remember we were against the Fishes down 5-3 and Ricky tied it with a dinger when I got Tony at 2nd base and Ernie won us the game by blasting the ball. This list is good but Ernie Steele and Ricky Johnson are underrated IMO.
Maybe they had some unusually lucky plays for you, but Ricky's power is 4th worst in the game and Ernie is very slow and has poor contact. That's crazy that you got a homer with Ricky though, I don't think I've pulled that off myself.

Having Ernie in the top 10 worst players is a crime. Yes, he's slow but he's a pretty damned good hitter. i've also experimented having him close out games as pitcher for me when I play 9 inning mode and Kenny gets tired. It worked well. Ernie Steele is a solid player.

While she can't hit for power very well at all, I had great luck with hitting grounders with Gretchen. Her batting average was .667! I used her at SS, so she wouldn't have to throw too far.

This isn't saying much, since passable pitchers are a dime a dozen, but that skill combined with her not-terrible speed would save her from the worst place on my own list.

It would be dramatically different. Jorge received the only direct buff (Pablo and Pete getting the other changes in nerfs) but 2001/2003 has a different physics system that changes things around Batting & Throwing (and displayed ratings for Pitching).
All kids with bad arms or good Contact get much worse, while kids like Ronny with his Power bat getting much better.
Jorge is definitely the best in the change as his strong arm is more valuable and his Power got an actual strong buff.
Billy Jean Blackwood is kinda two-faced for me on here. She kinda raked for me when I picked her in Backyard Sports, but that was without Marky on my team.

Kind of? Luanne can actually manage to get some decent hits in _despite_ her build. Vicki is so bad at batting that she's offensively *useless* unless you tee up, which you can't do on the road. No defensive advantage can make up for that, and even then, you can still get a good defense with those saddled with worse defensive stats.

I can't believe this Gretchen slander. Put her at first base and she catches everything and rarely has need to throw.
Once you learn her strike zone is absolutely unfair and come to terms with it, consistently hitting with her becomes easier. Granted, she's still not very good but she is definitely better than Kimmy who, can't run and can't hit and can't catch the ball. Kimmy has two things: a big arm and power, but she can't utilize either because her contact is atrocious and so is her ability to field the ball.
Her bat is objectively bad. I didn't find a way to get her on, what's your strategy?
@@longballhq3128 Yeah, her bat is terrible. Her contact is much better than Kimmy. For me, it really was just a matter of learning what was and wasn't a strike. Because her strike zone is unfair, I would take what looks like a ball and get called for a strike and then just start swinging at everything. Once I learned that, it helped to lock in mentally and not get frustrated by the balls and strikes calls. I don't know if this is helpful to you or not however, but that's how I got better with her.
A possible strategy is to bat with power to offset her noodle arms, but I find sticking with line drive to be best.
Where Gretchen really shines is at first base, because she rarely has to throw her arm strength isn't a liability there. She has decent speed and never misses when you throw the ball to her.
I think that if Kim and Gretchen were fused into one person, they would actually be a decent player.

One placement on this list that suprises me is Jorge below Marky. Marky has 57/100 Power and 49/100 Contact(while, at the same time, being a 1/4 in running/the slowest tier). Where as, on the other hand, Jorge has 58/100 Contact and 31/100 Power(while, at the same time, being a 2/4 in Running, or the second slowest tier). Considering how you value Contact allot, like with Lisa being below Reese despite Lisa having more power, and also speed, I'm suprised that Jorge is below Marky. It may be his chop swing, for Jorge's placement.

ernie is an honest to god power hitter...in the gba version that is...to be honest everyone is better in the gba 2001 version. kimmy becomes a powerhitter and a god tier catcher on my all girls team due to the ai wanting to steal all the time, gretchen is a bit useless still, she cant catch

I really enjoyed watching this. With the exception of a few placements, which I'll get to, I think this is an good list! I'm glad you, unlike allot of those journalists, actually played around with the characters instead of judging them based off the stats the game gave you.
I think Lisa and Reese's placements should be swapped. Lisa is literally better than Reese in everything except for contact hitting(and, at the same time, Lisa has more power than Reese). From both my experiences playing the game myself(and looking at the internal spreadsheet):
Lisa is the same speed as Reese, she has about the same glove but a much better arm than Reese(so she's a better fielder), she has much better stamina than Reese(Reese has a 14/100 stamina while Lisa has a 78/100 stamina, which means she can run, throw, and pitch for allot longer than him), she's a better pitcher than him(on top of having more stamina for more innings, she has more "good" pitches than him), and on top of that she's also a better hitter than him(although her contact is slightly worse with a 15/100 compared to his 20-something, she has a good bit more power wirh 67/100 over his 46/100).
If you ask me, she doesn't deserve to be on this list(let
alone below Reese).
I'd also argue Ronny's and Kimmy's placements should be swapped.
Here's why I think that: Ronny is faster than Kimmy(Kimmy has a 34/100 speed while Ronny has a 54, or 56 its something in the 50's), Ronny is better at fielding than Kimmy(both of their gloves are about the same, yet Ronny has a better arm), Ronny has better stamina than Kimmy(she has a 32/100 stamina rating while he has a 51/100 stamina rating, so he can run, throw, and pitch for longer than she can), Ronny's also a better pitcher than Kimmy. The only thing Kimmy can say is that she's slightly better at batting than Ronny(she has a 72/100 power rating while he has a 86/100 power rating, but she has a 45/100 contact rating while he has a 22/100 contact rating). If you ask me, I don't think having about 20 extra points in contact(while, at the same time, having less power in that same stat) is worthy of placing 2 spots above a character.
With those critiques out of the way, I enjoyed watching!

I'm aware of the spreadsheet, I didn't rely on it for my rankings however. I went by my own success with players based on over 100 plate appearances. The players I ranked higher performed better for me. I guess contact makes the difference after all. I definitely believe power, contact and speed are by far the most valuable in the game
Your welcome! Also, I already knew that you ranked these on your own time, and not by the sheet. However, if you ever decide to look back on these lists, both this one and the best characters lists, I'd recommend you at or atleast somewhat go off of the spreadsheet (to prevent cases/takes like Reese being above Lisa, despite Lisa being better at literally everything than Reese). I'm pretty sure there's a saying for what I'm saying but I forgot it, I'd also say that because it's kinda luck based how good you'll do with a character. There may be a season where a player does extremely well, and then another season where they do extremely bad in. Also, there could be the chance that a player could have gotten a hidden increase/decrease when you were testing them. Although, at the end of the day it is your list and all, I'm just trying to give possible recommendations.
With that out of the way, do you plan on making a video on the 10 most "average"/"middle" players? Players that weren't on either of these lists.
For myself, I personally believe speed(most important of all), power, contact, arm strength, and stamina are the most important. If I ever did a list of the characters like this it'd probably be a good bit different cause I value pitching, stamina, and fielding more than you do.

He's also got a small strikezone and I'm pretty sure his hit trajectory is more favorable, which I don't know if that shows up on the spread sheet - I'm not seeing it. I don't think it's that open and shut. If players get a boost it usually won't last more than a game, so not going to skew the results too much.

Sorry, I was saying "better at everything" by saying that Lisa is better at the main 4 stat points(Batting, Running, Pitching and Fielding, I said that she was better at Batting when you compare both contact and power). Also, I don't really notice what you're talking about, from playing the game myself, in how Reese has a more 'favorable' hit trajectory. It might be just, like I was saying earlier, RNG on my side but I don't really notice it. Also, I can kind see what you're talking about on stat boosts/reductions(although it may impact the results a bit, it probably won't impact it too much).
Also ,just wondering, what difficulty setting do you have it on? At least from my experiences playing on hard, good fielders aren't entirely useless if the AI hits it. I'm sorry but, at least to me, it gets annoying when fielders have poor arms that can't make it in time(Luanne, Reese, Angela, Gretchen, ect's arms for example, although this version of the game makes it so their arms aren't that bad), or when they drop it. For pitching, I half agree and half disagree. Yeah, most players can pitch at least somewhat decently, but it definitely helps if you have a good pitcher(one that has good, or preferably better stamina, a good arm to throw out grounders, and at least 2 good pitches that have accuracy). It might be just a difference in what we consider makes a 'good' player, but I don't think fielding, and to a lesser extent pitching, should be taken out of consideration(at least to me, I respect the opinion if you disagree, which you obviously do).

Ok, am I the only person who doesn't think Ronny(Incase you didn't notice, you misspelled Ronny's name in the section) is a bottom 10 character? Almost every list I've seen(your bottom 10, Dyno Mike's tier list, almost every Reddit/tier maker tier list I've seen, ect) has Ronny as one of the worst characters in the game. I don't get it. Although he's definitely not the best character, I'd say he's mediocre/a dishonorable mention to the bottom 10, he's far from being one of the worst, in my times playing. He's got really powerful bat, even if his contact may be bumpy, a cannon of an arm, and is a good pitcher. Although his glove and contact are both awful, and his speed is mediocre, he's got some good qualities. Which, atleast to me, definitely doesn't make him one of the worst in the game.

Respect the opinions on(I think these don't belong): Sally Dobbs, Lisa Crocket(obviously), and Ronny Dobbs(even with the most recent AB's of mine, I still think he just barely gets out of my bottom 10).
Dishonorable mentions: Ronny Dobbs(12th), and Maria Luna(13th).
The first spot on my list is kind of confusing, because I think there's a three way tie between 11th, 10th, and 9th worst.
Tied for 11th, 10th, or 9th: Marky Dubois.
In a three way tie for the start of my list, we have Marky Dubois. The country boy has allot of personality, but not much talent. I'm gonna get the elephant of his main problem out of the room and deal with it later. On defense, he is actually decent. With a pretty reliable glove and a decent arm, he can do you good in the field. He's also a good pitcher. With great stamina, which can be useful outside of pitching, he can pitch for a good while without getting tired, and has some good pitches. However, on the other end, he is bad to mediocre on offense. His bat is well, averaged. With 57/100 power and I think either 45 or 49/100 contact, it's very well rounded. However, and the main reason why he's on here, he's so slow he'll be a clogger of the bases if he doesn't hit it out, or get on at all. Something that's also to note is that he gets a major nerf when playing as the socks. However, he gets a major buff when playing against them. Although it's not wise to plan around the games you play against the Socks in season play mode, if you play them at all, this can be useful if he's available and the computer is the Socks in single game mode. Another thing: although Billy Jean gets worse, Marky also gets a buff when Billy Jean is his teammate. Like Sally with Ronny, Marky's like two players: Marky with Billy Jean and or against the Socks, and Marky without either. Marky is definitely worthy of this list if he isn't with either Billy Jean or against the Socks.
Tied for 11th, 10th, and 9th: Angela Delvecchio.
Now, this is probably gonna be controversial, because of how much the community adores her and how many lists I've seen that put her in high/elite tier, but I respect the opinions of the people who disagree. Back on to her stats, Angela, the younger brother of Tony, is like a flip flop. She can never make her mind on if she wants to be awful or really good at something. When it comes to offense, she is once again a flip flop. Although she can hit bombs, she'll probably never get to 1st if she hits a grounder. On defense, she can pitch really good, being the only other 4 ball pitcher other than Kenny, but she can't field the ball for crap when it's in play. Although she does have some decent strengths, I think her weaknesses are too much to get her out of being mentioned on my bottom 10. Although, I will say that she becomes extremely good when she's against her brother Tony Delvecchio in single play games. If the computer picks him, then she's a really good pick.
Tied for 11th, 10th, and 9th: Ernie Steele.
You're good ole boy Ernie is here, and he's kinda mediocre. On offense, he's mediocre. Although his power is decent, he has mediocre contact. Although not awful, he also has mediocre speed. On the field, Ernie's got a somewhat weak arm. Although, his main strength, he has a golden tier glove. With height and a legendary coordination stat, he can catch pretty much anything. With great stamina and decent pitches, Ernie's also a good pitcher. Something to also say is that he gets a really good boost at his home field, Steele Stadium. Out of him and Kimmy's home field boosts, for single games, I'd say he benefits more because his field is better, which a good lot of the community seems to agree with. Unfortunately, you can't play at Steele Stadium on Season play, so you won't see it on Season play. Although he's really good at his home field, I think he's worthy of this list without it.
As I said, those 3 spots are tied, so they can go either way on my list.
8th: Sidney or Ashley Webber.
This may be a weird one, because they were on my best list, but that was if they were together. Apart, they are pretty mediocre. When they're apart, they're ok at offense. Although they're bats are weak, they still have decent contact abilities. They also still have decent speed, which is nice. However, they are mediocre on the field. With abysmal gloves, don't put them in any important catching positions. Although, they're arms are decent. They're also decent pitchers, with legendary stamina but ok pitches. If you ask me, if you're gonna pick one of them, pick both of them.
7th: Ricky Johnson.
As his card in 2001 and 2003 implies, it's pretty clear that Baseball just isn't Ricky's sport. One positive is that his speed is decent, which is nice. Although, he's definitely poor on offense. He has one of the worst bats in the entire game, with awful contact and power. On defense, he's somewhat decent. Although his arm isn't the best, he does have a really good glove. On the mound, he has great stamina and ok pitches, so he can be decent there. He's essentially a diet version of Lisa, Stephanie, and the Webber twins.
6th: Controversy alert! Amir Khan without Achmed.
Amir...Amir...Amir. Although he's good with Achmed, he's just a league below most of the cast without his big brother. The only two things Amir has going for him is his pitching, which his pitching is somewhat mitigated with his stamina, and his good bat. His bat, 62/100 contact and 73/100 power, is good, which does help him. Although, at the same time, his speed is mediocre, so he can be a clogger of the bases. His fielding is also awful, with a poor-ish arm and bad glove. As a bonus, he also has really poor stamina, so he can't do much without getting tired. Although his bad stamina holds it back, I'll also say that he has decent pitches, so he's a decent pitcher. All in all, if you're gonna pick Amir, pick him with Achmed. If you want a pitcher who can hit bombs, I'd recommend picking Angela or maybe Ronny(although, Ronny's less consistent with his contact). Hopefully he can be better when he's older.
5th: Jorge Garcia.
Commonly the top pick for the worst, with his 2/4 ratings, I don't think he's as bad as people say. Although he's definitely not good, he's definitely not the worst. His defense is somewhat of a strength. He, surprisingly, has a really good 79/100 arm. He also has a somewhat consistent glove. He also has good stamina, surprisingly. However, even with good stamina, he's a pretty mediocre pitcher, with no decent pitches. He's also got a poor bat, with a bad swing and bad bat power. His poor bat would be fine if his speed wasn't mediocre. Although he's definitely bad, he's definitely not the worst.
4th: Kimmy Eckman.
Kimmy's a poor man's power hitter. Although she's got allot of spirit/heart, she's just a worse version of both Mikey Thomas and Ronny Dobbs. If she does have two things, they are her arm and power. However, with mediocre contact, she doesn't have the easiest time connecting. Although, it does go far when she can get a hold of it, never expect her to round the bases when it doesn't go out. As her card would imply, she has terrible speed which is tied for the worst in the game. As a further bonus, she has bad stamina and poor pitches, so her pitching can't even save her. She also has an awful glove in the field, which doesn't help her. Although, throughout her play style, there is one Silver lining, being her home field Eckman Acres. If she's playing there, on the single games mode, she becomes quite good. Unless you're on your 9th pick, and the computer has picked power hitters, and you go "oh, I don't have a power hitter yet!" I don't recommend her.
3rd: Billy Jean Blackwood.
Billy Jean, Marky's love interest, stinks. If she has one thing it's her ability to make consistent contact. The problem, though, is that she has awful power, which means it doesn't usually go far. That would be fine if it wasn't for her having poor speed, which means that she usually doesn't get on in time. On the field, she has a decent arm, but a mediocre glove, although her height may be an advantage for her. She's also a bad pitcher, with mediocre stamina and only one good pitch. As a bonus, she also gets worse when Marky's on the same team. If Marky's on the same team, she'd be the worst player, but she's only 3rd worst without. Unless you really hate Jocinda and want a somewhat similar, but much worse, player or want to boost Marky, I wouldn't pick her.
2nd: Gretchen Hasselhoff.
Another pick for the worst, Gretchen doesn't have much going for her.
The two things that can be said for her: she has some speed and is a good/decent pitcher with decent stamina. Her fielding is probably one of the worst in the game, with the worst arm in the game and a ok glove. Her hitting is also bad, with below average power and terrible contact. Although she does have potential, she just isn't good.
1st/worst: Reese Worthington.
Although only slightly, Reese Worthington is the worst player. If there's one thing to be said about him it's that his glove isn't awful. Although he drops allot because of his height, he can usually catch it if a short player is throwing it to him. Like Gretchen, another thing he can say is that he has some speed. Other than those two things, which he's only ok/average at, he's poor to awful at everything else. His arm is bad, his stamina is awful, and his bat is poor. Because of his stamina, his pitching is also bad. If you want a player like him, pick Vicki Kawaguchi.

Kimmy Eckman is easily the worst player in the game. She has a decent arm and decent contact power. Prettymuch everything else is trash.
Jorge is has both better hitting power and throwing power than Kimmy (and those are the only things she does decently). He also tends to be better in most other areas too, including stamina. There is no way Jorge is below Kimmy.
I just realized this might be for the original game, in which case Jorge is much worse.
