I really hope they pull something similar to what Legion did in World of Warcraft with the artifact weapons. Giving us more weapon customization. I still love the looks of the Black Star weapon the most. I don't even bother with weapon skins tbh.

I'm not 100% on this because they didn't elaborate. But it would make sense for us to be able to use Blackstar Main Hand and Awakening to craft 1 Sovereign, so in your case, you would choose PEN BS Awakening to replace your PEN Dandelion. This would give you gains right now and you can then use them for 1 Sovereign Weapon. The PEN Dandelion might be useful once we know more about the C20 Boss Weapon recipe for Sovereign crafting.

How is it that bad. It's a good thing. Stop being selfish. Barrier to entry is what will kill this game. Making catching up easier will attract more players to take, and hence improve it's longevity.

Not only wastes the entire your thousands of time you spent on grinding for the V black star but also tottaly kills the grind curve and amkes most of the spots not viable anymore. There's more that i for sure not see.
I knew imma quit the game the second I saw this few days ago bc this is the final confermation that PA wants ur to be in an infinite loop of gearing and they are willing to devalue gear in order to keep the average gs even. You can either choose to keep grinding hard to stay at the top 1% of the player or you can wait a year and be put at the exact same gs the top 1% was at 1 year ago. Cant wait that my hardcap gear will be considered average in about a year. Main reason I was sticking with bdo for over 10k hrs is bc you could actually build something up that not every new player can reach in no time. welp gl everyone that keeps playing. overall a good change for most players but a spitt in the face for the hardcore playerbase

Eh. They're introducing ten more enhancement levels after pen blackstar with Sovereign weapons. If pen blackstar costs hundreds/hundreds of thousands of cron stones to make (depending on luck) just imagine how difficult getting Sovereign to PEN or DECA will be. They're taking out the entry level (blackstar) so Sovereign weapons are accessible to most players. That said, black shrine is still the gatekeeper of said weapons. If they do not allow the flame to be sold in the marketplace that will make people jump into black shrine for that next upgrade and even then, the flame isn't a guaranteed drop.
Panic selling, then price will rise when new region releases. Price has been going down for a while since the Hammer was introduced, so different factors will affect the price. Depends on how hard it is to get the flame or the gem for the C20 craft recipe.
Its like they realized they dug a hole by making all these 300+ ap spots. They have to give us free gear to even keep up. Still doesnt address the issue though....we dont want to grind at all.
depends are you succ or awak or are you a scholar if you're a scholar no idea you'll have ot consault a scholar main but if you're succ get the main and hold onto the other one you'll need it for soveriegn weapons when they release and if you're awak get the awak and same thing

Awakened witch. I use PEN Dandi awakened and a Godr I for main. So, I can use the main weapon BS with the Pen Dandi @ C8 to craft this other weapon that I have no idea about? Getting Pen Dandi's are a piece of cake compared to BS gear. If this is so I love it. I really don't even care about the sovereign weapon at this point. I've been playing so long that I will be overjoyed with a PEN BS weapon. 🤠
There is a crafting path for the boss weapons like dandelion/kzarka/offin, but it requires caphra level 20 and a new item that they will be releasing. They said this would be the most expensive route. Other options to craft are 2 V Blackstar weapons with no additional materials or 1 V Blackstar and a different new item (flame).
why are you expecting prices to go down? everyone who had a PEN blackstar set now needs 2 more PEN blackstars of which we are only getting 1 and everyone who did not have a full set of PEN blackstars now needs anywhere from 4 to 2 extra blackstars for the sovereign update. This will shove PENs back up to max price on pre order.

don't try it, people left the game, and developers just bait with high end weapon players to stay another day ppl left due to the last balance changings, that ruin everything, making the only one classes stay good in current state
We dont know, but i think it will be possible. It was the same with Dead God Armor. If you tapped the Season Dim Tree for example to Pen and made it C10, you can make a Fallen God Armor out of it that you can sell on the Market. In the end, its a new Item, so i think it will also work with the Weapons.
Depending on whether u on succession or awakening at this point. Main hand pen bs is somewhat better as it gives a splendid boost. However, tri godr - pen bs, the stats difference are not that far For awk, if your dande is c0, then u will get a huge boost from pen awk bs alone. Personally, i go for awk pen bs, then i self enhance my godr to pen
Enhancing godr weapons past tri is not really worth the resources, it's better to get backup normal tet bs and click on it in hopes for pen. Your main weapon AP is more important, so I'd recommend you to get pen bs for whichever u use and sell the godr and buy yourself a tet bs for second weapon. The AP system works in 70-30, which means your attack is calculated based off 70% main weapon AP and 30% secondary (that is why you should not neglect secondary weapon).
I have a TET Godr main (free one so can't sell) and DUO godr awakening. Seems like I should go for awakening and keep tapping the TET, but I'm not sure... I play both awakening and succ on different classes.
That's what I would do if I were in your situation. Just cron and pray on the TET Godr. But also keep in mind, we don't know for sure that we can mix and match for the crafting recipe. Personally I think we can, but nothing is confirmed.
I am debating using the free weapon to make my awakening the Sov since i have a pen bs already. All i play is awakening right now as my mainhand is a tri godr, so the mainhand giving me equal AP would be nice, but i could just push my AP and get the new weapon for free... im torn
Hold for now. We don't really know what the crafting entails. Maybe they allows us to mix and match (Mainhand+Awakening) into 1 Sovereign. Truth is nobody knows and they haven't given us more information. If you already have the PEN BS Awakening and are fine with waiting a bit, we'll know soon enough. Hopefully lol
@@AndersGallar the pictures from the ball all showed Like for Like when making the new weapon, so im lead to believe you will need two awakening weapons to make a the new awakening weapon. Maybe we get lucky and they let it be either way, also Pen godr was not mentioned at all
We don't know if Sovereign needs the same type of BS. Afaik nothing has been confirmed. You have the PEN Mainhand which is the most important one. You can hold out until we know we need two identical PEN BS for Sovereign crafting or go Awakening right now if you don't want to wait. Personally, I don't think they will make it PEN BS Mainhand x2 for Mainhand Sovereign and it makes more sense that it would be either Mainhand or Awakening, but we'll see. They will clarify in the next month or so before it releases in Korea and I'll be able to craft it myself.
@Anders I recently came back to the game after a bit and I'm struggle to pick a main class/character to play as any advice? I know any other games like FFXIV and pso2 I play summoner. but those two game are so different from this I'm having some trouble picking something I like cause I don't know what I like.
I played Summoner in FFXIV but ages ago, pre-Stormblood. There is nothing like that in this game really, but Succession Nova is close with the Axian summon dealing damage sort of like Bahamut. No pets or anything like that per se. She is on the stiffer side of animations, so if she doesn't feel good, try Succession Maegu or Succession Woosa. They are extremely easy to pick up and solid classes. Dosa, the new class coming next week, also has some summon type attacks, but we don't know enough about his combat style. Another one to look out for.
@@thunderanime27 Sort of, but she utilizes Heilang differently. I don't know many Tamers tbh so I can't say how she is doing these days, but Succession Tamer could be an option if you want to try the Mounted combat style.

You should expect the price to go up. Going down doesn't make sense, the upgrade tier requires TWO BS per slot. 6 total in the end. The price will go up.
I mean if i understood it correctly, you need 2 if you dont go the way with the Flame, that you need to grind for. The 2 BS option is only needed if you want the Sov. Weapon day 1 without grinding for the Flame.
All those gearlets, who have already two PEN bs from hammers, just like my wife, will be selling one pen BS and ignore sovereign weapons, because they have no means to get materials for sovereign enhancing. But they certainly could need a piece or two of that slumbering origin armor or some pen acc for more AP, etc There will be a lot of supply of pen BS weapons and there will no only a small amount of demand, prices should first go down before they go up again.
@@SkitZHitZ and that is exactly why people will just want to buy than enhance it themselves. The demand for blackstar will skyrocket once the sovereign comes since it is the easiest route. You just need money but the other options you need a flame which gonna take time depending on your luck and caphras. If you have the money then you should buy another pen bs. That is the mentality of the majority, the will to get the pen bs now! So the demand will go up

Yeah It's called catchup, they want newbies to be able to catchup, it's a way to keep a healthy player stream into the game. Veterans get their end game spots and the new gear and new players get the catchup.
Ngl I think I would've prefered if it cost 10bil or so. That's not an unreasonable ammount for a bis item (or formerly bis) and makes sure new players have some kind of gear progression like with jetina.

No one knows, we are all speculating that we CAN and others are saying that we CANT lol so for now, if you are unsure. Wait till they officially confirm it. Personally, the way they have spoken about the upgrade it tells me that you can use either, BUT Pearl Abyss does weird things sometimes.

Awakened witch. I use PEN Dandi awakened and a Godr I for main. So, I can use the main weapon BS with the Pen Dandi @ C8 to craft this other weapon that I have no idea about? Getting Pen Dandi's are a piece of cake compared to BS gear. If this is so I love it. I really don't even care about the sovereign weapon at this point. I've been playing so long that I will be overjoyed with a PEN BS weapon. 🤠
There is a crafting path for the boss weapons like dandelion/kzarka/offin, but it requires caphra level 20 and a new item that they will be releasing. They said this would be the most expensive route. Other options to craft are 2 V Blackstar weapons with no additional materials or 1 V Blackstar and a different new item (flame).
why are you expecting prices to go down? everyone who had a PEN blackstar set now needs 2 more PEN blackstars of which we are only getting 1 and everyone who did not have a full set of PEN blackstars now needs anywhere from 4 to 2 extra blackstars for the sovereign update. This will shove PENs back up to max price on pre order.

Will you be able to sell the resulting Sovereign if you use the free blackstar with a normal blackstar?
We dont know, but i think it will be possible. It was the same with Dead God Armor. If you tapped the Season Dim Tree for example to Pen and made it C10, you can make a Fallen God Armor out of it that you can sell on the Market.
In the end, its a new Item, so i think it will also work with the Weapons.

Agreed. A lot of classes suffer from having weapons that are too small and the weapon effects get lost most of the time.

I have a tri godyr denying to go tet and a pen dandelion. Which would be the best option for the free pen? awaken or main?
Depending on whether u on succession or awakening at this point.
Main hand pen bs is somewhat better as it gives a splendid boost. However, tri godr - pen bs, the stats difference are not that far
For awk, if your dande is c0, then u will get a huge boost from pen awk bs alone.
Personally, i go for awk pen bs, then i self enhance my godr to pen
If you don't have a PEN Mainhand, def the choice to go for. Sell the Godr if you can.
Enhancing godr weapons past tri is not really worth the resources, it's better to get backup normal tet bs and click on it in hopes for pen.
Your main weapon AP is more important, so I'd recommend you to get pen bs for whichever u use and sell the godr and buy yourself a tet bs for second weapon. The AP system works in 70-30, which means your attack is calculated based off 70% main weapon AP and 30% secondary (that is why you should not neglect secondary weapon).

I have a TET Godr main (free one so can't sell) and DUO godr awakening. Seems like I should go for awakening and keep tapping the TET, but I'm not sure... I play both awakening and succ on different classes.
That's what I would do if I were in your situation. Just cron and pray on the TET Godr. But also keep in mind, we don't know for sure that we can mix and match for the crafting recipe. Personally I think we can, but nothing is confirmed.

If it put you into a bracket where you can grind more efficient at high end then yes, otherwise your choice would be the awakening for bonus dmg
I am debating using the free weapon to make my awakening the Sov since i have a pen bs already. All i play is awakening right now as my mainhand is a tri godr, so the mainhand giving me equal AP would be nice, but i could just push my AP and get the new weapon for free... im torn
Hold for now. We don't really know what the crafting entails. Maybe they allows us to mix and match (Mainhand+Awakening) into 1 Sovereign. Truth is nobody knows and they haven't given us more information. If you already have the PEN BS Awakening and are fine with waiting a bit, we'll know soon enough. Hopefully lol
@@AndersGallar the pictures from the ball all showed Like for Like when making the new weapon, so im lead to believe you will need two awakening weapons to make a the new awakening weapon. Maybe we get lucky and they let it be either way, also Pen godr was not mentioned at all

We don't know if Sovereign needs the same type of BS. Afaik nothing has been confirmed. You have the PEN Mainhand which is the most important one. You can hold out until we know we need two identical PEN BS for Sovereign crafting or go Awakening right now if you don't want to wait. Personally, I don't think they will make it PEN BS Mainhand x2 for Mainhand Sovereign and it makes more sense that it would be either Mainhand or Awakening, but we'll see. They will clarify in the next month or so before it releases in Korea and I'll be able to craft it myself.

@Anders I recently came back to the game after a bit and I'm struggle to pick a main class/character to play as any advice? I know any other games like FFXIV and pso2 I play summoner. but those two game are so different from this I'm having some trouble picking something I like cause I don't know what I like.
I played Summoner in FFXIV but ages ago, pre-Stormblood. There is nothing like that in this game really, but Succession Nova is close with the Axian summon dealing damage sort of like Bahamut. No pets or anything like that per se. She is on the stiffer side of animations, so if she doesn't feel good, try Succession Maegu or Succession Woosa. They are extremely easy to pick up and solid classes. Dosa, the new class coming next week, also has some summon type attacks, but we don't know enough about his combat style. Another one to look out for.

@@thunderanime27 Sort of, but she utilizes Heilang differently. I don't know many Tamers tbh so I can't say how she is doing these days, but Succession Tamer could be an option if you want to try the Mounted combat style.

You should expect the price to go up. Going down doesn't make sense, the upgrade tier requires TWO BS per slot. 6 total in the end. The price will go up.

I mean if i understood it correctly, you need 2 if you dont go the way with the Flame, that you need to grind for.
The 2 BS option is only needed if you want the Sov. Weapon day 1 without grinding for the Flame.
All those gearlets, who have already two PEN bs from hammers, just like my wife, will be selling one pen BS and ignore sovereign weapons, because they have no means to get materials for sovereign enhancing. But they certainly could need a piece or two of that slumbering origin armor or some pen acc for more AP, etc
There will be a lot of supply of pen BS weapons and there will no only a small amount of demand, prices should first go down before they go up again.

You just need money but the other options you need a flame which gonna take time depending on your luck and caphras. If you have the money then you should buy another pen bs. That is the mentality of the majority, the will to get the pen bs now! So the demand will go up

PEN Godr can already be exchanged into PEN BS so probably not an issue.

Yeah It's called catchup, they want newbies to be able to catchup, it's a way to keep a healthy player stream into the game. Veterans get their end game spots and the new gear and new players get the catchup.

No mention of Godr weapons which is kinda stressfull.
Ngl I think I would've prefered if it cost 10bil or so. That's not an unreasonable ammount for a bis item (or formerly bis) and makes sure new players have some kind of gear progression like with jetina.

I don't understand the sentiment of some of the people that say that this is some kind of "kick in the balls" for those who already have a PEN blackstar. I mean they are giving you a FREE one as well as everyone else. With the 2 PEN blackstars you have now, you can easily CRAFT the PRIMORDIAL weapon that they are releasing later. Everyone who doesn't have 2 PEN blackstars STILL has to go for a PEN blackstar? So why is it some kind of negation of the FIRST BLACKSTAR you got? I don't understand the logic of those complaining about this? YOU people who already have a PEN blackstar is guaranteed an upgrade to a PRIMORDIAL weapon when it releases? LIKE WTF is your problem with this?

No one knows, we are all speculating that we CAN and others are saying that we CANT lol so for now, if you are unsure. Wait till they officially confirm it. Personally, the way they have spoken about the upgrade it tells me that you can use either, BUT Pearl Abyss does weird things sometimes.
