He promoted his self and utilized hard work to get where he is. Not to mention the critics, judges and fans don't like the fact that he's a black man with long hair and an unconventional attitude.
While I don't quite agree with Kai cutting Phil off while he was ranting, that was a tad bit disrespectful, but I do agree with him, Phil is trying hard to win the fans knowing well that he's desperate to win a 4th sandow.
