I completely agree dude. It feels oddly generic for Rocksteady standards. And since 2016, we had this strange period we’re we were receiving Suicide Squad content left and right. Not to mention all the sketchy marketing.
I stumbled upon this quote on twitter from imran Kahn and this sums up I think everyone’s feelings on this game.

As far as the Suicide Squad films I dug how gritty they were and I hope that translates to this title but idk I'm like on the fence there's some good but there is some suspicion there.

Ngl I have very mixed feelings about this game, the gameplay looks fun in my opinion, I like the fact that metropolis is the open world area(even though it could’ve been a Superman game😑) but the live service elements of the game is a huge turn off for me.

This game looks like Marvel's Avengers 2.0 especially after hearing them talk during the deep dive.
It pretty much is from the gameplay footage. This is NOT what we wanted at all. Seriously, this is some bootleg Fortnite meets Avengers bullshit.
After reading this I backed out to find the video you spoke of. After watching it from beginning to end and taking in everything the devs said….. u are 100% right.
There has been rumors floating around for a few years that Rocksteady didn't want to do this game. They originally pitched a Superman game (I think some concept art exists on the internet) after the completion of Arkham Knight. Which is why they're a number of Superman Easter eggs in Knight... well long story short, WB passed on their pitch. And WB wanted someone to make a Suicide Squad game for years, so they threw it at Rocksteady. Which does make some sense since Stefon Hill who directed their Arkham games left the studio, as did their founder. There is no passion in this project if that's true.
Yeah, I remember seeing the concept art for their proposed Superman game too. I wish Rocksteady did that instead of Suicide Squad. I'm disappointed we won't be able to see that now.

It was reported that wb games had a cancelled suicide squad game. It was cancelled because it was taking them too long and all characters had grappling hooks and played the same

@@zombiesleeper3309 I hated that they bait and switched Barbaras death. Deprived that awesome moment where we see her die from any actual weight. I thought the Arkham Knight himself was lame. The story lacked focus with almost 0 bosses. There was some cool things about the story but I think City was 10 better with a far more satisfying plot and ending.
I think the biggest problem is the combat just isn't there.
