- On this kayak catfishing trip, I took my Hobie Pro Angler and new motorguide xi3 motor out to the Tennessee River to do some trolling. I started out at the top of a deep hole and dropped some cut bait down. The blue catfish bite was on fire until I got run off the water early by bad weather.

Out West , we put a glass bead on the main line next to the leader swivel.. it keeps the slider weight from pounding the knot.

I Caught a few small skip jack on the ohio yesterday 2 smaller shovelheads and a couple white bass weather doesn't always make fishin worse

Does the motorguide have fine control on the speed? My current motor setup has infinite speed control so I can go very slow down the bank or use it to "anchor" in light wind.
I am just curious. With using an electric trolling motor, how long will the battery last before it dies. Do you recharge the batteries, and are you able to check the charge of the battery before you go out?
Hey man I hated my trolling motor beeping when I used it too, you can’t go into the setting on your controller and turn it off very easily, i Believe it’s in the settings, hope it helps you and you enjoy, but it will get rid of that annoying beeping

Had a secret spot on a lake in Ohio where I'd catch cats and carps back to back, with three poles I couldn't reel in one fish without another hittin one of my other poles, a few times I reeled in three fish at the same time.

it only took 1 time not going with my gut reaction to weather, I knew better but.......... luckily only cost me 1 rod and reel, waves floated the rig right out of a hull mount rod holder.....respect the weather in a kayak....

It's actually so disappointing about the Old Town auto pilot being so annoying. I don't have one so idk to what extent it is noisy... but I can imagine sitting there bass fishing and that shit just beep beep beeepbeep beeeeeeep ... lol just like why tf would they do that?! I really love the idea of it and be able to program a route for it to take... but if it is just going to drive you insane while it does it then F that lol I hate when a really good ideas go to shit over something so minor and silly.
