Well this is very jazzy! I can't believe it gets rid of the drone buzz. I bet you've had some great fun playing with all the modes. Think I've got Hover Air envy!
This'll never compete with the DJI drones but it has it's purpose. It's sort of like a GoPro - that wouldn't compete with a nice high end camera but if you're looking for action footage it's hard to beat. X1 has a similar unique purpose. Thanks for watching!
An excellent review, a little expensive for what you get but for filming up close it's really interesting, I didn't even know that a drone like that existed before seeing your video, it will be possible to know when you’ll be using it in your next videos!
Thats really cool. The crashing into trees is bummer though, I feel like it might be hard to just run down techy trails in the mountains without the drone crashing. Getting the running shots is great though.
Yeah, downhill is tougher than up because it descends slower than you so it gets higher as you descend. See the shot at 02:59 - the height of the drone was actually set low to the ground but even still it was way above me by that point in the descent. That was actually my sketchiest crash yet - after hitting that branch it pinwheeled down the rock slab ten feet or so. It's pretty tough!
Thanks much! Haha, unless DJI wants to send me one I'm not sure I'll get to do a comparison between the two. From what I've seen so far, I think the Pro and Pro Max versions that HoverAir is releasing soon will be the new standard as far as selfie drones go.
From the limited trailrun/hiking specific reviews I have seen, neo seems to be smarter at remembering the route you took as opposed to making shortcut to catch up, while suck at front tracking mode. But I am really more interested in harsher winter, above treeline or more technical scrambling/climbing scenarios, may be I should just try neo myself😂
@@yancheng846 yeah will be interesting to see these things put more extreme use. I’m looking forward to hopefully getting some cool winter trail running footage this year.
Great review, thanks! This would be the perfect drone for me and my needs but the price is eye watering even with their ongoing discounting. Around $250 with the 2 extra batteries seems a good price point and I bet they would sell like hot cakes but I know that is wishful thinking 😎
It's possible, if I was going where the scenery almost demands the kind of aerial photography you could only get from a beefier drone. Thinking about the Whites specifically - there are so many restrictions (alpine zone, shelters) where you can't launch your drone from - I think I'll be likely to leave the DJI behind and just bring the X1 on future trips. And I'm starting to realize that I have taken so much drone footage at this point that I can dip into my well of stock footage rather than need to create something new everytime.
Yeah, I ain’t a cheap one, but it is pretty cool. Probably too early for eBay, but you never know. Keep looking. There’s a lot of reviews out there from creators who were sent these by the manufacturer. You can trust my honest reviews, cause I wasn’t paid off! That said, Hover Air is welcome to send me a prototype of the next version! 😝
There's not much to it alright. Funny enough, its manual mode using the phone is fairly awkward compared to a nicer drone. They are actually pretty easy to fly.
Each battery only lasted about 12 minutes so you wouldn’t be able to to record the whole thing, but it’s small enough to fold up and fit in the pocket of your shorts.

It's my special trail friend!
Great review!!! Thanks for sharing your views. Very nice!!!
Thanks much! I'm travelling to Vegas in a few weeks. Looking forward to exploring a bit of the local mountains!
Thanks a lot!
Yaaaaa I’ll be sticking to DJI products but at least someone is supporting these up and coming drone companies. Companies like this are cute.

Definitely a unique drone. Once I saw videos I knew I wanted one. Looking forward to seeing what it can do in the mountains!
Got to say this is a cool micro drone Seth
Great review and great to flag up this device 👌🏻
ATB Simon
Thanks Simon - looking forward to getting some interesting shots with this thing.
Well now, that looks like a lot of fun! Little brother is watching you!! lol
Haha, it's a little creepy when the red light turns on. That's when you know it has its eye on you!
Wow great review Seth. It looks very interesting and very easy to fly since you dont have a controller.
Yep it's definitely easy to use. Looking forward to bringing it into the mountains!

Nice review from hiking NE perspective🎉 Hoping you will compare this with dji neo

Yeah the price point is definitely going to be tough for a lot of people. Thanks for watching!
Video on charging the batteries with a backpacking solar bank.
Do you mean like how long that would take? That's a good idea!
Pretty interesting! Do you foresee backpacking/camping situations where you'd carry both drones with you?

Great upload here my friend see you soon have a nice weekend cheers 👍🏻👍🏻🤗🤗
Thanks, enjoy the weekend yourself!
Great Review!! I think this is the right drone for me but that price tag….is it too new to be on eBay yet?

@@RhodySeth I think they should send you the next gen hover air your review is TOP-NOTCH!
Interesting there..
Veeeeery interesting.
Wow that looks cool. A drone you don’t have to learn to fly.

Great review Seth! Looks very nice for the right use case. I’m waiting for one that will carry my pack 😂
Haha, maybe it's time for a pet mule!
Can I take it for a 2hr nonstop run?

Looks like a nice drone Thank you for sharing.
Thanks, I'm looking forward to getting some cool shots this summer. Haven't seen any uploads from you in a while - hope you're doing well.
